I said I'll let you know when I'm closer to finishing my meal. I had to ask for more tea, and after she brought a refill, she returned with the check. It seemed pretty clear that she was ready to end her shift. When I was done, and I asked for two boxes, she took my card to pay the bill. All's well, except my bill was $51.99, tip added. I distinctly remember this figure. I even wrote it off to the side of the ticket, adding my initials. Why this is important, is because I've just checked my account, and I've been charged $58.99. This is why I rewrote the total with my initials. My tip reflected the lack of service. If you're reading this, owners, managers, whoever - train your waitresses that service is equated to the moment I decide I'm ready to leave, not your waitress. Why rush me to the degree that its obvious? I will contact my bank to dispute this charge. I wonder if the extra $7.00 tip the waitress added to the receipt was worth this review. I guess you'll see. The driver calls my wife and says there's a huge dog that's out front and he's not going to get out of the car. My wife and me race outside thinking our dog got out somehow..He didn't. He's in the garage with a secure gate with my mother-in-law.(our dog is also not a big dog) my wife is still on the phone with him and now we're both standing outside and the driver says he still won't get out of the car. My wife says no your ok. you can bring it to us. I go and put the dog inside because the guy is being crazy. This dude throws our order on the ground at the end of our drive way and hangs up on my wife. I have NEVER left a bad review ANYWHERE. This guy was unbelievably rude. My wife and I called the store and told the manager what happened. He then goes on to defend the driver saying he was attacked by a dog somewhere and he's scared of dogs. completely understandable. What's not understandable is being rude, hanging up on my wife, and leaving our food at the end of our driveway. If he would of politely asked for us to come to the car and get it and explained why we would've done it in a heartbeat. I wish I could give negative stars. I have lived in Santa Fe my whole life. I already like VP&S, but this branch is by far my favorite among the locations throughout Galveston County. It was self serve and there were cups all over the ground. By the time we got to the second water stop there was no water left. And at the finish line they also ran out of water. It was very hot out and several people fainted due to the heat and lack of water. Emergency ambulances were called for those who fained. We had signed up for this event in March 26 and the event took place is Sept 26. That was plenty of time to prepare for the amount of people who signed up for the race. They also served red wine at the finish line which only makes people hotter. In the FAQ's they showed the route which went through the vineyards. We ran and walk on pavement through neighborhoods where there was little to no shade and it was extremely hot. Haak Winery did a very poor job organizing this event and actually put people in danger by not providing enough water and other methods like misting stations to cool people down. Do better Haak Winery. I will never go to another run hosted by Haak Winery. Very disappointing.
