Want authentic family operated Italian food? Look no further! Everything was amazing - the customer service was so warm & welcoming, you meet the whole family when you enter and everyone is so friendly. The food was dreamy. Spaghetti was truly amazing. The white pizza is a MUST! The crust is so light & fluffy and the white sauce is heavenly. The garlic knots were so tasty. My kids loved that there was sparkling water at the drink station. The decor was very cute and the entire restaurant was clean and tidy. Several customers came in for pickup while we were there and our food came out quickly.

We ate at Nesa's Pizza at sunset and enjoyed a gorgeous water view. The food was served quickly with a smile. The wings were perfect: hot, crisp, and juicy. The fettuccine alfredo with chicken was absolutely delicious, just the right amount of garlic and perfectly al dente. While the food was very good, the service was the best. While you order from a counter and get your own drinks, the fabulous service came from the warmth and sincerity of the owner. He truly wanted us to have a great experience and know if we enjoyed our meal. My guess is Nesa's is somewhat new, and they are finding their footing. Their People, Place, Product, and Price are spot on. I'm sure their Process (the look and lighting) will be polished in the months to come. I would eat there every week if I lived in Galveston.

Great pizza. Family owned and operated. BYOB. No cork fee. Nice addition to the Galveston pizza scene. Come support them!

Supreme pizza. Pretty good and homemade.

Not good at all. Pasta was one minute til al dente stage, meatballs were purchased by a outside food vendor. Not homemade. This was the worst Spaghetti and Meatballs we have had. The garlic bread roll was so tough we left it. Sauce was canned. Ordered a homemade Supreme Pizza. It was loaded with toppings, but not hand tossed or coal fired. It was only ok. Sadly, I don't think this place will make it. I hate to be so critical, but with prices so high one expects better food. Order at the counter, food was bought to us. We cleaned the table.

Great food and great service. I had the supreme pizza and my friend had the meatball sub. She kept going on and on about how delicious the bread tasted.

We ordered the supreme pizza and it was ahhhhmazing!

Wow! What an amazing place to eat some homemade pizza! The owner was extremely friendly and very attentive. We ate outside since we had our pup with us, so I can't really describe the inside. However, if the food and service reflects the inside, I'm sure it's perfection!

Absolutely delicious margarita pizza. The best on the island!!! Comes out hot and the ingredients are so fresh.

Great new mom and pop type Italian restaurant. Good assortment of pasta classics and delicious subs. Walk up and order at the counter. Very clean and comfortable inside. Eager to try pizzas and other pasta dishes. I had the chicken parm sub and the roll was exceptional and freshly baked. Newly opened. Will only get better. Next to Hotel Lucine and very close to UTMB.

Large Pepperoni pizza and some mazzarela cheese sticks

Me and my girlfriend tried it and it was some amazing pizza, not too long of a wait time and the service was great...pretty straight forward. Enjoyable music and a great view next to the beach, we will definitely will be coming back again.

    Nesa's Supreme Pizza!

This is Hands Down the Best Pizza!! Everything about it was way beyond any pizza we've had in Galveston! Nesa's Pizza will definitely be our go to for Pizza from now on!

    Meat lovers pizza

Food, service and view are amazing. Dry reasonably priced and there's no skimping on toppings. We ordered the meat lovers pizza and we will definitely be back!

We hadn't had food from Mama Teresa's in quite some time, but last night I saw a Facebook post from them showcasing their crab claws in spicy marinara. I happen to love crab claws and this post reminded me that Mama Teresa's had some good ones. Tonight's dinner from Mama T's: spicy crab claws and shrimp in marinara and a large pizza with extra cheese, bell peppers, and black olives. We're talking about some excellent eats here. Even our car Rudy approved of the shrimp (de-sauced by his mommy, me) and devoured all the pieces that I allowed him to have. Oh, about that sauce -- it's really good! The spice is bold but there's an underlying depth of flavor that indicates someone takes sauce very seriously indeed. I'm a big fan. While I thought the crab might've been a smidge over cooked (they were still quite tasty), the shrimp were perfection. Orange tabby cats agree! The pizza got a thumbs up from my husband who approved of the quality of the ingredients. That said, he wanted a heavier hand with the toppings and a little more tang in the sauce. I enjoyed it, but both of us wanted more rise in the crust and some char. Ours was a pick up order, but next time we'll dine in. Dan noticed that their draft beer selection was better than most, and the wine choices were okay, too. My take away - visit places that you've unintentionally put on the back burner. You'll probably be very pleasantly surprised. Eat and shop locally!!

Chef Pina came to our table to make sure everything was up to her very high standards. We had white bean soup, which was phenomenal, the recipe is vegan, only four ingredients according to Chef Pina but tastes so rich and delicious you would think it was based on a hearty bone broth. Crisp Caesar salad lightly dressed, eggplant Parmesan, tender and delicious, and the veal osso bucco, which to me is always a measure of how a less expensive cut of meat can be (and was) transformed into something utterly delectable. A light and creamy panna cotta with a tart mixed berry topping for desert, very delicate and not too sweet. We chose a crisp sparkling Prosecco from the extensive wine list to accompany a truly memorable meal. The restaurant is attractively decorated despite a slightly awkward layout due to the historic nature of the building it is housed in. Prices are in line with the stellar quality of the food, and our service was excellent. Oh yeah, the bread and oil are as good as everyone says. I made reservations for 9:00 p.m. because some ArtWalks apparently work up hefty appetites in folks and our usual go-to places get filled up. When your're hungry, you don't want to hear about a 30 minute+ wait time. Arriving at the appointed hour, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Cordial service and efficiency were on display throughout our meal. Dan and I got the Mediterranean style octopus appetizer and it was stellar. The octopus was tender, the vegetables complementary, and the dressing and seasoning made this a decidedly winning dish. Azar got the zuppa di pesce which is a generous portion of delicious seafood in a flavorful broth. I decided to go vegetarian for my main and opted for the cannelini bean soup. Sounds simple, right? It was anything but - its great depth of flavor and creaminess put it over the top. Highly recommend. Dan, being the salad king, got the house salad and that was the only misstep. It was a bit over dressed and not very interesting. Poor boy. I am not the Salad Queen, so I'm probably not as sympathetic as I should be. My feeling is that you're in an Italian restaurant run by an Italian -- why get a house salad when there are so many other choices? That said, I know he'd counter by saying that their house salad should be on par with everything else. I can't disagree. Bottomline: Trattoria La Vigna is one of the best Italian restaurants on the Island. If you haven't been, make a reservation and prepare to be delighted.

We, like many other diners, ate outside - the window for eating al fresco is narrow so we do it while we comfortably can. We were tempted to get Roman artichokes for our appetizer knowing how delicious they are, but instead we ventured out and got the calamari puttanesca. Good decision? Absolutely! The squid was tender, the capers lent delightful brininess to the intense-in-a-good-way San Marzano tomato sauce. The only thing that would have improved the dish is if we'd had the smarts to order bread with it to sop everything up. Next time, next time... Dan being Dan had to have Greek salad. We shared it and I must say that I really appreciate their approach to this ubiquitous offering. It has feta, but its presence is not heavy handed. Don't get me wrong - I adore feta but sometimes it overtakes a salad. There were Persian cucumbers, small yellow tomatoes, thinly sliced onions, very fresh, crisp lettuce, and no pepperoncini! Now you might think the absence of peppers would be a bad thing but I beg to differ. Too often restaurants use them and they turn out to be tough and woody. For the record, of all brands we've bought, DeLallo is consistently the best. For mains, because I am just about incapable of not getting it, I got the boscaiola. If you haven't had it, get it! It's a stunningly well balanced dish of pappardelle, mushrooms, and confit chicken. It is perfection in a bowl. Dan got the rigatoni alla vodka with confit chicken. The rigatoni entree is what we saw on Facebook some time back that made both of us think that we really, really needed to give Gonzalo's a try. Pro move, y'all, pro move! Drinks: old fashioned for me and a whiskey sour for Dan and glasses of Pinot grigio. Did we have room for dessert? No, and that made me a little sad. But we'll be back! Dan has a birthday coming up...

I've gone down 61st countless times, but not once have I ever set foot inside this longtime Italian culinary institution. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ordered from here, either. Mario's was on my radar for the evening on Wednesday after I toured the new Ball High (Class of 2000). I failed to resist the siren song of the dinner buffet, which takes place every Wednesday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. For about $17, diners could have their pick of the five or so pizzas in addition to entrees, pasta, salads, and deserts. I decided to have a slice of each pizza -- cheese, pepperoni, supreme, meat lovers, etc. -- since I was a newbie to the establishment. The slices were the usual hand tossed and not too thick. The cheese-to-toppings ratio was pretty even. Fortunately, I enjoyed each, so much so that I felt stuffed as I worked on my third slice. After pizza, I assembled a plate consisting of fried fish, potatoes, spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken pasta. My taste buds were continuously treated to straight-up Old World Italian deliciousness. I couldn't get enough of the fried fish and chicken pasta. It took me a while to finish the spaghetti because I was beyond the point of full. I had no choice but to forego the chicken masala and seafood rice pilaf. Mario's, which has existed since 1967, has the undeniable feel of an old school pizzeria. Guests can actually feel the warmth emanating from the kitchen as well as the staff. When dining in, be sure to ask for Wyatt. He'll make you feel right at home. Whitney is another person you ought to get to know also.
