Lorena is beautiful from the outside, and once you step inside, it's also so sweet- personal touches of grandma Lorena everywhere you look. We were here for brunch, so we shared the pimento cheese app and the two special adds to the menu that day: biscuits and pork loin. Everything was delicious, and our waitress guided us well from start to finish. She was an expert and a delight to chat with. We will be back! read more

Wonderful dining experience! Highly recommend. -The food was delicious! We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes to start, very crispy and the sauce was a perfect compliment. Then we had the fried chicken and pork ribeye for our meals, which were both delicious and the sides were perfect for each. Since everything was so good we had to try dessert too so we finished with banana pudding, which again, was delicious. Everything was tasty. Only recommendation if order the fried chicken is to ask for it not to be set on top of the mashed potatoes as it lost some of the crunch. -The service was professional and welcoming. -The atmosphere relaxed and inviting. -The drinks were amazing. I found the Creekside Cooler a refreshing cocktail, even the ice was good after I had finished the drink.;) read more

I just had lunch at Lorena with a friend. We had the deviled eggs, fried chicken and grilled vegetable sandwich. Everything was delicious! They were gracious enough to accommodate several special dietary needs. Dell, our server (and menu consultant) was amazing. He was attentive without being intrusive!! read more

Today was our 2nd time going to Lorena. The first time we went on a Sunday at 11:00, place was empty, asked for a table for 2, hostess inquired if we had reservations to which we replied no. At this point hostess seems very confused, I inquire if there's a problem and was told "yes, we have reservations coming in and there's nowhere to seat you." Fast forward and my son booked Lorena as a Mother's Day dining experience for today. We arrive on time, approach hostess and we are told it's going to be a few minutes. 2 other parties arrive after us (same number of guests as our party) and they are seated right away. We are then told that they are cleaning a table for us. Table was in our view and there was no sense of urgency in getting it cleaned and set up. We get seated 30 minutes after our reserved time. Waitperson did not seem friendly. We finally ask if we can place our order after being seated for half an hour. When asked if we had any questions one of our party asks to know more about a dish and was met with a very stoic "it's a vegetarian plate." Food comes out and my plate is missing one of the things the menu lists as being on my plate and we are not checked upon during the meal. Food was bland and disappointing. I really wanted to like Lorena but frankly will never return there due to the manner in which we were treated both times, the lack of service and the quality of our dishes. read more

We came by for a happy hour drink. The brunch menu has some unique items, like tinned fish plate, deviled eggs, and so many different Benedict's. The drinks were great, atmosphere was upscale, and service was excellent. We will be back to try the food! read more

Service was excellent and the food was amazing. The black pepper clam chowder was hearty, full of clams and the soup was a seasoned just right! Definitely my new favorite! The chicken and dumplings were tasty, but could have used a bit more kick. Perhaps more pepper and a pinch more salt. The fried pickled okra appetizer wasn't what I was expecting. It tasted more like hushpuppies. Ok but I would not get it again. Last the mini biscuit appetizer wasn't nice: with the strawberry jam I recommend it, the apple or the whipped cream butter not so much. read more

I've had their BLT and it's killer and the pork chop ranks right up there too. I usually sit at the bar so the service is great! Very pretty room with lots of glass. Highly recommended! read more

We went for lunch during midtown $10 lunch deals week. Ended up needing reservations so booked one and came back about 30 minutes later. Our server was super nice and recommended lots of great options! We got the soup and salad, couldn't decide between the clam chowder and chicken and dumplings so got a cup of each, both were great! Also got the catfish which was really good too. Got the peach hand pies with peach ice cream for dessert, highly recommend! read more

So good! Chicken fried Chicken was great and Fried Green Tomatoes were a hit! Nice decor and good for a business lunch. Highly recommend

Love the new menu with delicious add ons. My favorite in the lunch menu is Chicken Fried Chicken. Yummy!!! Egg salad sandwich is out of this world and many more!!! read more

Fantastic! We tested out Lorena today in midtown. This place is incredible. A southern Fusion restaurant where southern comfort food meets contemporary cuisine. We ordered the oyster po-boy, chicken and dumplings, and unicorn grits with gulf shrimp. Wow! Everyone agreed that the food quality was top notch. My oyster po-boy was scrumptious. The unicorn grits with gulf shrimp was given two thumbs up. The chicken and dumplings chock-full of chicken and super tasty. We are already making plans for another visit. read more

We came here at the suggestion of our daughter. She has been here several times. The black pepper clam chowder soup was the best soup I've ever had. And the fried chicken was the best I've ever had! Can't wait to come back and try something else! read more

Brunch was "d-double-licious", starting off with a good Bloody Mary followed by the tasty shrimp and grits. Service was attentive and the overall ambiance was nice. Great southern style menu we will be back to try. read more

Attended a graduation party this past week. They have a room that is perfect for parties. Food was delicious. Service was very good. I would recomend Lorena's for parties or just for a night out! read more

Absolutely wonderful addition to the OKC food scene! They have made the space so beautiful and the service we received was absolutely impeccable. We enjoyed the pimento cheese with firecrackers! The chicken and dumplings tasted just like my mom's recipe which was delicious and sentimental for me. The chicken fried chicken is an absolute MUST HAVE! Highly recommend all the way around! read more

Ordered the fried chicken Apparently sometime during the day the grease burnt but they continued to use it Nothing like the taste of burnt chicken Apparently there was only one waitress and she was all over the place and not very attentive read more

Enjoyed dinner with friends at Lorena. Food was very good, cocktails delicious and service was outstanding.

Delicious and unique! Nice to have this menu option in Oklahoma City! The atmosphere is fun with a lively bar and a more quiet dining room. read more

What a great addition to Oklahoma City dining, in the heart of the city. We discovered a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere and Southern-inspired cuisine in a modern style. We tasted nostalgia prepared in a new way. We loved their style of classic comfort food. One can choose from catfish, short rib pot roast, fried chicken, red beans and rice, or several other choices of entrees. They also offered great appetizers like fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, pimento cheese balls and many others. We loved the excellent service and are anxious to return! I hope you will find the same great pleasure that we did at Lorena. read more

Service is always good but maybe I picked the wrong entrees today, I was not wowed by the food. I was not able to taste the pickled okra in the fritters. Like the server said, it's like hush puppies. The collard greens were a tad on the salty side. The fried bologna was good tho. And so was the short rib. The first visit experience was better. I may just have to stick to catfish the next time I return but I like to try different food. read more

I'm so happy this place opened and that we have another high end Deep South cuisine location in OKC! Excellent old fashioned, loved the duck breast, fried green tomatoes, and I typically don't get dessert but portion sizes for entrees are perfect so I had room and enjoyed the peach hand pies. My only complaint is that service timing for the cocktails and entrees was pretty slow but still getting their groove. Rooting for this place! read more

The food was outstanding, the service was attentive, the environment was restful, the parking at noon sucked.

The sales and delivery was excellent and at a great price! I highly recommend Bob Mills for all your furniture needs! Excellent selection at a reasonable price! read more

Amazing food and ambiance! Every dish was unique and delicious! very special! what a treat!

Three of us were at Lorena's last night. We were greeted by Lori the owner. She gave us a brief description of her concept for the restaurant. The food was delicious. They had a speciality 6 mini biscuits appetizer and we had the most delicious fried green tomatoes. We had bowls of chicken and dumplings and claim chowder. Both were exceptionally delicious. The seating and ambience is cozy, upscale, and comfortable. Our waitress was delightful. We'll definitely be back. read more

Listen y'all. This is my first review on Yelp ever and have been using it for years. I felt compelled to share my experience. We came here for my friend's birthday brunch. Casey our waitress was so sweet and patient. She was well knowledgeable about all menu items. Lauren the owner came out and chatted it up with us giving the back story you're telling us about how the chicken and dumplings is her grandmother's recipe. She also went to go get the head chef, Chef Cally, who The came out and told us her story and how she created the menu. Such a great experience and I definitely will be back here soon. read more

So I really wanted to like this restaurant. It came highly recommended and we were excited for our dinner. It's beautiful and the seating with wonderful. We heard all about the story of the owners grandmother and her love of cooking. Appetizers were incredible. We had fried green tomatoes, biscuits and the pimento ball. Delicious. But then it went south. After 45 minutes our food arrived and 2 of the 4 dishes were cold. Ice cold. One was duck which really can't be eaten cold. The fried chicken was warm and good. The last dinner of a salad never showed. While they were apologetic you can't run a restaurant like that. It doesn't work. We paid good money for food that wasn't really edible. Again, I really wanted to like place but unfortunately we probably won't be back. read more

Lorena's is some of the best southern cooking I've had at a restaurant. Our group had a reservation for 6 people. The food all came at the same time and was smoking hot! We each had a different main entree. They were all spectacular. The price was reasonable and the deserts were beyond perfection. The owner made a point to stop by and visit and discussed there Angel food cake. This is a MUST! read more

The best chicken and waffles ever! Tender and flavorful, and paired with exceptional coffee, it was sheer perfection. I've already mentioned Lorena to many of our friends, and everyone has come back with glowing reviews. We can't wait to go back! read more

Server was nice enough, but service was extremely slow. We got the chicken which looked beautiful and tasted good but was not much warmer than room temperature. The description says they modernize Southern Comfort Food. There was dumpling soup and fried chicken, but the menu is dominated by seafood. Very nice environment that is comfortable and well decorated. read more

Love this place! Especially the pimento cheese! I also love their steak and catfish. Check them out!

Really good traditional southern food in OKC. Fried green tomatoes are a can't-miss. The chicken and dumplin's soup was amazing - just like my Aunt Marilyn's. Iced vanilla latte was delicious - not too sweet. Hollandaise sauce could've been a bit more flavorful but other than that, a flawless experience. read more

The shrimp and grits were great. Wait staff was friendly and food didn't take too long to come out.

Fabulous food and service! The food is a very original take on great southern classics. We will definitely return.

Classic Southern cooking with a twist and a bit of flare. Several family members celebrated a birthday here for lunch--a first visit for all of us. We had the warmest welcome I've ever had a restaurant. Our server Brandon was on top of his game and gave us excellent service as well as being friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent! We all kept raving as we tried a bunch of shared small plates, a few entrees, and desserts. Everything we had was delicious. Deserving of special mention: the fried green tomatoes, the clam chowder, the chicken and dumplings, the catfish, the peach hand pie, and the angel food cake (with amazing toppings). We all plan to go back and try more sandwiches, salads, and entrees. I can't praise the food and service highly enough. read more

We had an amazing dinner here. Our server was great and this place actually has comfortable seating which feels very rare nowadays for a moderately priced restaurant. We spent over 2 hours here enjoying appetizers, delicious clam chowder, and great catfish and quail. I can't recommend the stuffed quail enough and this was my first time ever even trying quail. The cornbread waffle that comes with it is incredible, this dish is a great play on the classic chicken and waffles but with some amazing twists. I'm still dreaming about the miso butter. Drinks were great too. Can't recommend enough! read more

Too small a menu, expensive, and food is not what Oklahomans call southern food. Service was good

Great food at Stella's sister next door. Every item on the Southern menu has an ingredient that twists the usual making the best better. Blue cheese in the potato salad! A fried bologna sandwich with house made pimento cheese on white bread! Green goddess dressing on the house salad. Sooo good!! The menu makes it hard to choose. read more

One word: DELIGHTFUL. We are long-time fans of their sister restaurant Stella so we have been excited for this from the first mention of it opening. No disappointment to be had. We loved every single thing. Fried green tomatoes, okra fritters, Mac cheese stuffed quail, shrimp & pork belly, duroc rib eye. All well seasoned. All had depth of flavor. All cooked perfectly. And dessert was just as good! Get the peach hand pie! Service was top tier, as well. We will be back. Again and again. read more
