If you want a great location, you can't beat this place. We could walk everywhere and could see a bit of water from our balcony. Check in was a bit chaotic as you have to go to the back of the building where there are 2 spots you can temporarily park, but the ice cream store next door was busy and cars were everywhere. After you check in, you move your car up the street to a private lot. The Inn is old but has lots of character. Our room was a decent size, the bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The shower had a great shower head, but the tub was a bit slippery. My biggest complaint is the A/C unit. It ran so loud, and wasn't really spewing out cold air. I slept horribly as the sound is crazy loud. Super disappointing for what we paid for the room. Breakfast was a typical breakfast served in hotels.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is right in the heart of town so it made it easy to walk to local shops, restaurants and breweries. The decor felt like quintessential Maine. The staff is extremely friendly. Plus we loved the 'extras' offered during our stay - complimentary Prosecco at a sister hotel down the road, complimentary breakfast, flavored water, and homemade chocolate chip cookies (our favorite).

Lord Camden Inn is one of three hotels (in the Bay View Group. Camden Harbour Hotel and 16 Bay View) and in my opinion, is the best value of the three. The first Photo was taken from our balcony which faced the street. It was enjoyable to sit on our balcony with our included breakfast (bagged and delivered to our room due to covid) and people watch on the street below with this pretty partial ocean view. We paid just over $200 for a Saturday night, compared to rooms at the other hotels going for $100 - $300 more. The 3 minute stroll to the waterfront and restaurants is why you go to Camden. Even if you don't decide to stay here, you should check it out.

    Camden. It's a boy!

Six stars. STAFF. The staff are so annoyingly nice, they make Ned Flanders and golden retrievers look like jerks. LOCATION. It's not right on the water, but close enough. The location is in the heart of Camden, yet quiet, with large private balconies overlooking the main street to the east and smokestack and rushing brook to the west. Lots of restaurants and bars a very short walk away including Marriner's, Waterfront, Peter Ott's, and Francine's. (See my reviews for Cuzzy's, Vintage Room, Boynton, 40 Paper, and Smokestack) PARKING. A free overnight parking lot (key card required that you must pick up and return at lobby) a few hundred feet away, plus a two hour lot across the street. LOBBY. Very homey w fireplace, with free cookies or fruit, coffees, teas, water, hot chocolate and (not as tasty) newspapers. ROOMS. Attractive rooms, super comfortable beds, huge balconies, great amenities (microwave, quiet fridge, Keurig), and they included a very useful channel guide for the flatscreen. BREAKFAST. Couldn't be better, despite a lack of donuts or danishes. Attractive, uncramped dining room separated from lobby. Made to order waffles, with various syrups and toppings, scrambled eggs, quiche, sausage, bacon, toast, bagels, granola, cereal, milk, yogurt, plus four types of juices, and four types of coffee. I took four types of poops. WORKOUT ROOM. Clamdigger please.

SSHHHH! Quite morning, just relaxing and keeping warm by our fireplace in our room!! This place is great!

Nice and relaxing place! This is an old building transformed into a hotel. I love the location and we had a beautiful room with a step-up sitting room, with a fireplace and our own belcony overlooking the river. We really enjoyed ourselves. Now one of the neat things was that we stayed on the third floor and some people claim, the 3rd floor is haunted :)...well, we never saw or heard anything, but it was a neat story to tell our kids! Their breakfast is served on the 2nd floor and we stopped by, but we had to leave, so we didn't get a chance to check that out. The front desk were very nice and accommodating. Our room was spacious and clean and I love the products they chose for the bathroom and shower needs, very clean and light feeling, unfortunately I'm drawing a blank on the product name, but I did see it mentioned in another persons review. And, they are dog friendly here as well. Definitely a place we would stay at again!

All rooms are beautiful, but If you think of it, get a street view to watch people and drink your morning coffee!

We stay at the Lord Camden Inn every time we are here because it never disappoints and is the most beautiful place to stay in Camden, right on the street. Best part might be the complimentary breakfast...delicious and all you can eat. The rooms? Clean and stunning. Beautiful bed linens and everything you could want in a place to stay. We love it here!

They had us at the chocolate chip cookie.

There are a limited amount of spaces in front with zero room to maneuver your car to fit in a space. There is a public lot right next door for a fee and hopefully you'll get a space. We were in the Waterfront King Suite. The room was lovely and had a great view!! However, getting hot water was inconsistent. We had noisy neighbors who we could hear using the hairdryer at 6:42am, and shouting down the hall and slamming their door at 7:30am. At 10:45pm there were sounds like chairs being dragged over hardwood for about 30 minutes. They do give you an opportunity to order breakfast that is delivered to your room and a time you specify. However, both days I had rancid milk for my coffee. I wrote a note to the staff after the first morning, and they served spoiled milk to me again on the second morning!! The food was also vastly under seasoned. I ordered the quinoa bowl both days and got two totally different dishes. And, my wife's potatoes were completely burnt. So for the money we spent on the room, I cannot recommend this place due to parking, noise, and food quality.

First off, the front desk would go 15-30 minutes without being staffed. This made it particularly difficult when we needed something - I sat across from the desk for 15 minutes at one point - but that's not enough to warrant a negative review. In fact, I waited this morning to convey this message in person, but the only people in the lobby were customers waiting for help. What does warrant a review is our breakfast foul up. This may sound like a minor issue, however in the world of customer service it absolutely is not. Here's what happened: the hotel provides breakfast in the room. We had two rooms. My daughter mistakenly put my room number on her breakfast card, so they delivered both breakfasts to my room. Only they didn't deliver both COMPLETE breakfasts - they only delivered a portion of the breakfasts. When we inquired about the mixup, we were shown our cards - no apology, only a hint of "here's where the fault lies, and it's with you." However, no one bothered to ask us before delivering an incomplete breakfast as to whether this was actually what we wanted (and bear in mind, this is not a big hotel). After that, there were a series of further mixups before staff actually sorted things out and got complete breakfasts to our rooms. I don't have a big problem with the mixup. I do have a problem with the reaction and the confused resolution. However, the blame here is not on the staff: it's on ownership. It's very clear that at critical points of the day, the hotel has a real staffing issue. It's also clear that ownership hasn't adequately trained staff on "Customer Service 101." The poor worker was clearly frazzled and could use some training and some help. As a result, this hotel did not earn the premium it charges.

Our room overlooked the marina and it would have been great to sit outside with a cup of coffee in the morning! There is a little closet that hods the Keurig machine, microwave, mini fridge, and ice bucket. The room was spacious and had just enough room for 2 people. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and even had an option to warm the floors. The bathtub is huge! I liked the many options in the shower for the water direction (waterfall, front, or handheld). I liked that the waterfall option was angled as well as the front - aims toward the chest, not the eyes! The hotel is conveniently located in town - you can walk to many restaurants as well as the very cute library in town. We actually walked to Rockport for dinner but please note it is rather difficult to get ride share services (Uber/Lyft) so we had to call a local taxi company. I would definitely stay here again during our next trip to Camden!

When we arrived there was no one there but our key was left outside in an envelope. Now I understand not having a desk attendant all day because there is only 9 people checking in, max. However, I couldn't find an email anywhere that stated the check-in process. I assume crime is very low in the area so I guess my key being out is ok. As others mentioned, the rooms are decorated with items you would see in your grandma's house. Since it was covid, there is no breakfast or anything. Other B&B's along the Maine coast had coffee in room & served grab-n-go breakfast items for about the same price paid here. I'm sure the family that owns this is nice, local people so I feel bad for not giving 5 stars but I have to be honest. Was trying to support local rather than a chain hotel.
