The doctor is very inexperienced. I got my contact and glasses. I couldn't switch from contacts to glasses because the glasses give me a huge headache and make me feel so dizzy even in just 30 mins. And I had to drive in that 30 mins which was so dangerous!!! I guess she just followed what the device told her without her own judgement. I need to see another better eye doctor to redo my prescription. But their frames are good. So definitely get the prescription elsewhere. read more

I visited Dr. Chiem to refresh my prescription for my glasses and was blown away by how fast and efficient this office was. Within 20 minutes, I was in and out with updated prescription and a set of contact lens in hand. Dr. Chiem is very professional, and is a very pleasant person to be around. I'll pile on another 5 star review. This pertains to glasses purchase only. I went here because they carried cool frames, were VSP in- network and close-ish to work. You see, I'm blind (-16.50) and old (need progressives) and had been settling for bad glasses all over town (I'm looking at you Hyperoptics and Stamper). I like that when Dorothy saw my prescription -she was honest- she told me she had to check to see if their shop could even handle crafting lenses for my crazy prescription. I knew right there and then I was onto someplace good. She got back to me with a YES. I picked out super cute frames (SALT) and I was told it would take awhile (again - love the honest approach). When my glasses broke and I was due for an exam anyway, I looked for somewhere near my office and found Loop. They had a spot the same day, so I jumped on it. Talk about serendipitous - Loop Optometry is great! The entire staff was incredibly warm and friendly, and made every effort to understand what I was looking for in a new pair of glasses. I tend to ramble and be indecisive about major purchases - especially glasses - and they were attentive and made great suggestions the whole time. In the end I decided on a pair that I probably wouldn't even have considered at first - but after the staff listened to what I wanted, they suggested this pair. I tried them on and loved them. A week later I still absolutely love them and have gotten countless compliments. The optometrist and staff are great, the place is beautiful (and smells awesome), and their selection of glasses is very stylish. I will be returning to Loop for sure. read more

My experience at Loop was by far the best experience I've had with an optometrist! I came in for new glasses as my current pair was causing headaches; I had stopped wearing them completely. Dr. Szeto did a very thorough exam, figured out the issue and identified my ideal prescription. She made sure to explain things to me throughout. After listening to what I wanted in a pair of frames, Dorothy, the optical specialist, helped me pick out a pair that I absolutely LOVE, and would never have picked out on my own. They have an awesome selection of frames in a range of prices - some are covered completely by VSP if that's your vision insurance. Got sand in my eye from the beach and was worried I had a lingering feeling of it stuck under my eyelids. I was able to call in and book an appointment within 40 minutes and they found my VSP insurance quickly over the phone. Dr. May Szeto was very thorough and friendly. I'm in San Francisco for a convention. Today after sightseeing I noticed my left eye was bloodshot. I also noticed a floater in my eye. I called my eye doctor in Cincinnati and he told me I should get it checked out especially because of my medical history. I googled optometry near my hotel location. I found Loop Optometry. The receptionist was very friendly and professional and got me in within 45 minutes. Dr. May Szeto OD, dilated and examined my eyes. She was very thorough and professional. My insurance plan was not accepted, I have problems back home with it too, but I paid out of pocket less than what I spent on parking today. I was truly blessed to find Loop Optometry. Best experience at an Optometry Office that I have had. As soon as I walked in this place, I felt like I entered a spa. everything is super clean, the set up is very open and great for viewing the frame options that they have for you, and the service is second to none. They have a very stylist selection of frames that can fit anyones budget, and also higher end brands as well. Doctor Szeto is one of the sweetest person/Optometrist ive met. She was very knowledgeable, patient and thorough with explaining how my eyes are, and answered any questions that I had. she helped me choose the perfect lenses for my eyes and I cant be more happy. Dorothy, the optical specialist, is awesome, and to be honest, I think I have a crush on her. She can answer any questions about insurance, what frame fits best with your face shape, information about the vendors/frames that they sell and work with, what options they have for lenses, shes super patient (im picky so she was such a sweetheart when I tried on a million different frames), and the list goes on. all in all, I had a great experience and will defiantly be coming back for my next pair of glasses or contacts. read more
