This is now my third year going to SeaCliff Optometry and I have to say the ease of scheduling, getting checked out, and dealing with insurance has made a lifetime customer of me and my family. Alice at the front desk is just so polite and sweet every time I call, and even though I reschedule a thousand times per appointment. Dr. Rudyack is always patient and thorough. Other than being just a great optometry office, I LOVE how involved they are in the community. I changed optometrist. Year 2025 is here and I had my very first eye exam by Dr. Singh on January 29th. My preliminary exam was done by Dr. Rudyak. She was so casual and really made me feel comfortable. Dr. Singh was very nice and made me feel at ease and she did the in depth assessment of my eyes. The staff Queen and Kay were pleasant to the customers. Again the office was clean and the furniture looked classy. While waiting I was shown different frames with nose pad extension. I have a low nose bridge and I wanted to change my current frame. I am glad they have selections from the signature brands. Queen shown me the Dior frame and I was impressed especially the nose pad extension. Today I picked up my new Dior glasses with new prescription. I am glad the office is not far from home if ever I need adjustment or what now. I will keep my optometrists. read more

I'm never going back to Seacliff Optometry. After 4 years as their patient, last week's visit was the worst examination and disrespect I've ever had. They offer the most expensive options on everything, and you pay because you don't know what's available. If you ask, they lazily inform of cheaper options, but their first offer is always dishonest and the most expensive possible. They don't offer or inform about benefits covered by your insurance, and when asked for the cheapest glasses possible, they sold me a 300 dollar pair of lenses, without frames. I, of course, complained to the owner directly about the disrespectful, apathetic and monosyllabic service I had, and she called me and promised to provide the glasses. Today, my glasses arrived by mail untouched, with a letter from the owner accusing me of bullying and rudeness, basically calling me, a faithful 4-year customer, a liar. Seacliff knows they are lying, but it doesn't matter, there are numerous honest and better optometry clinics in San Francisco, so we are better off without SeaCliff. Be advised. read more

Service could be better. I felt rushed out of my eye exam & the optometrist was speaking so quickly that I couldn't get a good conversation without feeling rushed. Additionally, the associates were nice, however, everything was written down & when asked to pay a certain amount. There was no formal invoice that broke down the cost or a paper that shows the result of the eye examination. Kind weird, don't you think? Everything was told verbally like I'm going to remember all of that. I only received a credit card receipt with the total. As a customer, I shouldn't have to ask for these things. This should be a normal process for all clients so they know what's going on not just by word of mouth. Then I was told that filling my frames would be done within 2 weeks. Only to find out they're back ordered & my second frames are still process... but you said 2 weeks now you're telling me it'll take at least 3-4 weeks. Such poor communication. I'm better off going back to site for sore eyes where I've been a client for over 15 years. I only came to this location because they accept my insurance. read more

Thieves. After my eye exam, which was fine, the store associate informed me that my insurance would cover up to $200 for new frames. I picked a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, and was informed they cost $300, so my copay was $100. I thought that was pricey but they were cute, so what the heck. After I paid and walked out of the store, I checked the Ray-Ban website, and found the very same sunglasses for $188. I went back to the store and confronted the store associate about the outrageous markup. She tried to play it down and said it was because of shipping and taxes (how dumb do you think I am?). Eventually, after texting with the doctor, she offered me a $40 refund. I asked for a full refund and cancelled the transaction. Moreover, the store associate told me I had to buy the frame through their store in order for my insurance to cover it. When I got home I checked my insurance's website and, sure enough, I can just buy it online. What's funny is that I was going to let it go and don't write a review, but now I see the associate, Cindy Orozco, lurking on my social media profiles, namely LinkedIn. Unreal. read more

Went here once for my annual exam. Their frames selections are limited at the store and are marked up significantly. I picked a not so luxury frame that's at the upper limit of my very good vision insurance. The year before I got my ray ban frame at a much more reputable place but cheaper. More importantly this frame is incredibly uncomfortable and the clinic staff is so arrogant and provided no help when I picked them out, I do not want to go back and deal with them to switch the frames. I also paid extra for anti reflective coating but the glasses I received seemed to look different than my previous glasses with real coatings and I feel glare when wearing them. read more

I feel so lucky to have found her and her team. I have a complete trust she will take care of me (diabetes eyes). This was my first EVER eye exam by an optometrist...I recently haven't been able to read small print due to being almost 50. Dr. Arneal was patient, positive, and thorough in evaluating and explaining how my eyes have both managed to elude glasses for so long, and the light prescription for my first pair. My husband and I went here for our annual eye exam. When I expressed that I didn't want to do an additional retinal exam and pay out of pocket, Dr. Wong revealed that my husband had done it and shared his results with me! This is a major HIPAA violation! My husband and I are both in healthcare and we were shocked. In addition, this office cannot do basic things such as order the correct amount of contacts. Alice ordered 6 months more than I needed and overcharged us by $140. She also could not supply my husband with an itemized receipt for the rebate on his contacts. Is this the first time it's come up in the time they've been open? I understand it's a new office, but the attempts to upcharge and the lack of basic competence means we won't be back. read more

I've used a number of optometrists in SF in the last few years, and so far this is by far the most positive experience I've had. It wasn't difficult to get an appointment, only about a 2-week wait. The exam was thorough and efficient, and all my questions were answered. For a small office they had quite a nice selection of frames--it's usually hard for me to get many choices with spring hinges. The glasses came back in less than a week and they fit perfectly. What else could one ask for? On a fun side note: they have the coolest waiting room furniture I've ever seen. Order contacts through the phone. The emailed me the tracking info and was anticipating it to arrive. After a few days the contacts never showed up. Emailed them the situation and I mistakenly didn't add what apartment number I live on the order... Alice emailed me at 11:30 pm (!) telling me the contacts were on the way to my actual address AND in the meantime I can pickup some trial contacts to hold me over. This is my second year with Sea Cliff Optometry. I went back for an annual exam recently and Dr. Rudyak and Alice are always wonderful and welcoming. Dr. Rudyak pays attention to detail and is gentle and listens to my questions and gives plenty of information. Recently, she recommended different eye drops for my allergies that really improved my situation and I can't believe previous doctors have not asked me enough to find out whether I use eye drops or not or even if my allergies cause my eyes to be really irritated and itchy. I chose Sea Cliff Optometry because the store looked modern and stylish and after meeting Dr. Rudyak, I felt confident in the care I was receiving. I will admit that you will probably be introduced to designer frames first and this was one of the reasons I was attracted to this office. I'm at a point in my life that I can invest in designer frames for glasses that are needed in my everyday life is possible and as a reward for myself. I have asked about more affordable frames though. Dr. Rudyak has assured me that she has options available at various price points, you just have to let her or Alice know of your needs (which is common sense, if you don't speak up about what you need/want, how is anyone supposed to know?). I definitely recommend receiving your eye care needs from Dr. Rudyak and when it comes to selecting glasses and frames, just be a smart shopper and advocate for yourself. read more

A friend of mine told me that a new optometry, Sea Cliff Optometry, opened in the Outer Richmond. I called and made an appointment to see the optometrist, Dr. Rudyak. The location is brand new and is tastefully decorated with a modern and sleek look. The equipment used is state of the art and very cleanly setup. Dr. Rudyak was professional and knowledgeable when conducting my eye exam. The process was very smooth and simple. Now for the fun part: Selecting new frames. Sea Cliff Optometry has a wide variety of glasses to choose from. I recently lost my pair of sunglasses, so this was the perfect opportunity for me to get new shades. Dr. Rudyak got me fitted into some beautiful new Tom Ford sunglasses. The turnaround time to get my prescription lenses inserted was short. Within a weeks' time, I received my sunglasses. I would definitely recommend Sea Cliff Optometry due to their amazing and friendly service, as well as their great collection of glasses. Dr. Rudyak is the BEST! I had an eye exam in January and loved her then, but now I love these guys even more. After having a melanoma removed my doctors suggested I get another eye exam- Dr. Rudyak got me in the day after I called for another thorough exam. She re-scanned both eyes and meticulously reviewed everything with me while she looked for any abnormalities (there were none ). She explained what she was looking for and why. Thank you for being so thorough and accommodating! They are also free for routine things - earlier this year my husband got me a pair of sunglasses that didn't fit right and Dr. Rudyak resized them for me for free! That was my first and last experience in Sea Cliff Optometry about a month ago. My optometrist gets retired and I need a new and good one to take care of my eyes. I live around Sea Cliff Optometry, and I like small local business. That's the reason I tried Sea Cliff. During the appointment of the annual eye examination, everything was okay except that Dr. Wong told me that the machine had some kind of defect. She wanted me to do the test again, testing my eyes' reactions to the dots in different angles. Later, she didn't even show me the new test and asked me to take a picture of the back of my eyes, which costed me $39 out of the pocket. Based on the test results and the picture of the back of my eyes, she explained, "Some blockages block your visions on the back of the eye." She highly recommended me to see my family doctor to get the MRI and CT Scan to check my brain. She also believed that my chronic headache is suspicious about having a tumor. After the appointment, I made an appointment with my family doctor right away. I got the earliest appointment on two days later. These two days were the toughest days for me. I went online to do some researches about brain tumor, the obvious symptoms - visual blockage ( I don't feel it) and headache (I have since teenage era). The more I read about the brain tumor, the most miserable feelings I had. I couldn't sleep for the couple nights. I didn't want to tell my husband and scared him before I got anything confirmed. It was very uneasy. Next day, when I saw my family doctor, she wanted to get more information from Dr. Wong. I called Dr. Wong at the clinic, but the front desk lady said she was with the patient. I told the front dest lady that I was with my family doctor who wanted to know more information about my case. The front desk lady said, "Dr. Wong will call you back in 5 to 10 minutes." I was there for another 30 minutes, but Dr. Wong didn't reply to me. I didn't hear from her even over two weeks of waiting. Besides that, my family doctor was critical about Dr. Wong's suggestion. First, Dr. Wong should have given me a written document to an eye specialist about my case and her suspicion instead of telling the patient to see the family doctor. Second, Dr. Wong should be more specific which scan (MRI or CT Scan - these are two totally different scans) to check which part of my brain. Honestly, I lost my trust to Dr. Wong completely. After two weeks, I got a phone call from the front dest lady only about my desired frames were there for trying. Frankly, I won't go back to see the optometrist that is such unprofessional. Moreover, They won't lose anything if I don't try the frames because they can send them back to the dealer. If you need a good optometrist, go somewhere else. I don't want anyone like me to be scared by a false claim of having brain tumor. read more
