Without even asking I was told ahead of time how long I should expect to be there for my eye exam so I was able to plan my day correctly. Ive been coming here for over a year and I've been more than satisfied with my experience…read more Floating or sensory deprivation is where you float in a shallow pool of water that's mixed with about a 1000 or so lbs of salt. So no matter how much you weigh, when you lie on the water you will float. It's the closest thing to zero gravity you'll experience on the ground! Then you have earplugs that filter out noise. Lastly theres a small light in the float room that you can turn off to make it pitch black. At this point, all 5 senses are as close to being deprived as possible. This is where the relaxation begins. Your mind no longer needs to worry about sensory input, it just.. exists. This naturally relaxes you, and if you know how to meditate, well it makes for an even deeper experience. Definitely a mind blowing experience that might be intimidating on the first float for some but will def get better as you come back. I really like how the facility is well-maintained, and a lot of effort is put into making your float experience gentle and peaceful (the staff are really friendly and talk in soft voices, toiletries nearly stashed in every room, fresh clean towels, etc). If you're looking to try out floating, this is definitely a great place to start.
