The theater isn't huge like your typical movie theater, but honestly, that wasn't a negative for us at all. We actually really enjoyed the smaller, more intimate feel. What really stood out was their extensive food menu. My husband and I tried their taquitos, and honestly, they were so tasty! We also got the nachos. My husband gets nachos every single time we go to the movies, and he loved the Hispanic twist they put on these. Beer, good food, and a movie? We were definitely satisfied! They also have signature cocktails inspired by the movies they're showing, which I thought was such a cute touch! We'll definitely be back.

The seats and theater floors are clean, which is huge when you really just want to relax and enjoy a movie. I've never had a problem with lighting, sound or the projectors. They are just patrolling people bringing in snacks masked as a security guard. Extreme red flags. My sister had a small bag of chips and had to turn around and walk back to the car for such a small and silly thing. All while the 2 employees who appeared out of which seems nowhere were laughing and being extremely unprofessional. Mind you this is the first thing you see when you walk in. There is no sense of being welcomed. This is the type of stuff you see at a rinky-dink movie theater. This is a below average, amateur ran movie theater and we were extremely excited after hearing the theater got revamped. Unfortunately the theater still needs work. If you are in this area already just go another 10 mins to Cinemark in Downey or AMC Norwalk cus it was actually very shocking. Couldn't take picture because I forgot the the bathrooms of both men and women were also down. With a sign and a bunch of boxes. The issue: last week I took my 6 year old and my 3 year old to watch Shaun the Sheep. My 3 year old has a leg cast and can't walk so I have to carry him everywhere. I bought my kids some kids popcorn and drinks, and I bought myself nachos. I love nachos and I never eat them. Anyway, I was trying to figure out how to carry it all plus a 3 year old. I then remembered I needed a straw. *** there were 3 workers right next to the condiment area where I needed to get a straw. One of them must've been a manager because he was wearing a suit. They were in the way so I said excuse me and one moved. They were talking about their weekend plans and I tried not to pay attention because it wasn't my business. I was struggling to get a straw while juggling my kid and snacks. The 3 workers were literally right next to me and for a good min saw me struggle to try to get a straw. No one ever offered help. At the end I almost dropped the popcorn. This bothered me because I would've offered to help if I saw someone struggling and I don't even work there! Anyway, I walked down the hall into our theater and dropped my nachos. It's no one's obligation to help; I get that. But they are working in a customer service industry. Part of their jobs is helping the customer. High school workers I can understand but even the manager was too busy talking about his weekend plans rather than helping the business. As much as we all like this theater, I have to rethink ever taking my kids back.

Otherwise you will be waiting in a huge line and may be fighting for a good spot, so you can be far away from the we*d smokers or smokers of any kind, if you are a nonsmoker like we are . Prices are still cheap. Only $14 for general admission (12 and older). Way better than walk in theater general admission prices. Pretty sure ticket prices are cash. So make sure you have cash for tickets. We came to see Mortal Kombat II. Which was amazing. I never saw the first movie. But you don't have to have seen the first to follow this movie. One reason I wanted to see this movie is Mortal Kombat II is my favorite video game (SNES) version of the MK video games. The best place to see an action movie is on the massive drive-in theater movie screen. Not Imax, etc. So we went here. Another great thing about drive in theaters is you can bring your own food and you can have privacy with your date inside your vehicle, if you know what I mean . Just have privacy glass. Because a family of kids can be parked next to your vehicle. If you want, you can bring chairs and sit outside your vehicle and watch. Which is also a great choice. Especially if you have kids. They will love sitting outside. If you do sit outside, bring a coat, blanket, etc. It gets cold at night. The concession is cheap af and not like walk in movie theater prices. For example, their large popcorn is huge. Yet its only $10 with taxes. We got ours with extra butter. They offer a lot of other good stuff too at great prices. But we only wanted warm popcorn with extra butter. I saw some raggedy ATM machines in there. Not sure if concession got them there so you can use cash to buy food. But I didn't ask as I already had some cash on me to buy popcorn. So make sure you bring cash for concession as well. Make sure you vehicle radio can tune to 90.1 FM and you can leave it on without it draining your battery and without parking/headlights being activated. It drives us movie goers crazy when some foolish person will turn on their headlights while everyone else is trying to enjoy the film. Also, if you need a radio for showing, you can buy one from them for $20 at concession. Great experience here. I love this place. Like I said, I havent been here in like 6 years. Last time I was here, one ticket paid for double feature. Which was a steal. Because after Mortal Kombat II, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. Which we already saw at a walk in theater. But we were ready to see it again on the biggest screen ever. They dont do double features anymore. So if the website shows two movies, dont misread like I did. It clearly says: "TICKETS ARE FOR A SINGLE SHOW TIME ONLY." I was wondering why everyone was leaving after Mortal Kombat II was over . We stayed in vehicle until security drove by and told us they only do single features. We weren't the only ones he had to tell. Great experience here. Cant wait to see another larger than life movie here.

Starlight Cinemas is THE ONLY PLACE for me to catch a movie without spending a small fortune…read moreespecially on their bargain days! Parking: Since the theater is located at Lakewood Center, there is plenty of free parking nearby. The lot can get busy during big movie premieres and in the evening or on weekends, but I've never had too much trouble finding a spot within a reasonable walking distance. Food: The concession stand has all the movie essentials fresh popcorn, candy, nachos, hot dogs, and drinks. The prices are pretty reasonable for a movie theater. You can't go wrong with buttery popcorn and an Icee! Ambience: The theater has a relaxed, nostalgic neighborhood movie theater feel. The auditoriums are spacious, the reserved seating makes everything easier, and it's usually clean and comfortable. It may not have all the bells and whistles of some luxury theaters, but it delivers where it counts: a comfortable seat, a big screen, and an enjoyable movie experience. Theater 1 is EPEX with reclined seats however they have updated some of their other rooms with new leather seats. Pricing: This is where Starlight truly shines! Purchasing online includes an additional service fee, so buying your ticket at the theater is the best value. Overall, Starlight Cinemas is a great option for an affordable family outing, date night, or solo movie day. Extremely disappointing experience at Starlight Lakewood Center, particularly because of how the…read moresituation was handled by House Manager Jaelyn. My friend and I had tickets for the 9:20 PM showing of Ice Cream Man. Our tickets directed us to Theatre 11. When we arrived around 9:30 PM, there was no movie playing. We found an employee who helped us and determined that our movie was actually playing in Theatre 7, so we missed part of the movie because we had been directed to the wrong auditorium. I want to be clear that this employee was helpful and was not the problem. He told us to go to Guest Services after the movie so the theater could address the mistake and provide a refund or replacement tickets. We did exactly that. At approximately 10:45 PM, we went to Guest Services. A female Starlight employee was standing behind the Guest Services counter using her phone. My friend politely asked if she could help us. She rudely said no. We then asked if she could at least let someone know that customers were waiting for assistance, and she again rudely refused. We later learned from House Manager Jaelyn that this employee was apparently off the clock. We had absolutely no way of knowing that. She was a Starlight employee standing behind the Guest Services counter. Had she simply said, "I'm off the clock, but I can get someone to help you," there likely would have been no issue at all. What turned a frustrating but easily fixable situation into the reason we will not return was Jaelyn's response as the manager on duty. Rather than first asking what had happened, hearing both sides, or attempting to resolve the original problem, Jaelyn escalated the situation and repeatedly focused on having me escorted from the theater. We tried to explain that we were only at Guest Services because Starlight had sent us to the wrong auditorium and their own employee had specifically instructed us to return after the movie for assistance. When I asked Jaelyn whether the incident and our complaint would be documented, I could not get a meaningful answer. I eventually asked for the contact information of a manager above her. She provided a handwritten name and email address for Tricia M. To make matters worse, when I attempted to send my formal complaint to the email address we were provided, the email was returned as undeliverable because the address provided to us was invalid. Mistakes happen. Being sent to the wrong auditorium could have been resolved with an apology and basic customer service. Even the interaction with the employee behind the counter could have been de-escalated quickly. Instead, the house manager escalated the situation rather than resolving it. I have since submitted a formal complaint through Starlight Cinemas' corporate channels and requested management review the incident. We will not be returning to this location. The original theater mistake was frustrating, but the way House Manager Jaelyn handled the situation is ultimately why Starlight Lakewood lost us as customers.
