I think for the price you get what you pay for. The tickets were cheap but if you try ordering food thats where they get you with the expensive prices and on top of that a mandatory tip "service charge". The food was mediocre at best and the establishment was 5/10 clean. Went here to watch Moana 2 with my kids and sounded like the movie was pirated maybe just the sound system is no good. The 4 of us had an amazing time! Purchased tickets online, super easy. Parking structure around back, plenty of parking. A bar for drinks and sports tv in the lobby. Staff is super friendly. Seats are comfy, they're not automated but who's lazy enough to care?! They're comfy, just push back a bit and you're all set. Ordering food is super easy using your smart phone and the servers come promptly, we didn't have to wait very long for any request. Be sure to close out your bill online before the end of the movie, if you want to tip anything other than 20%, otherwise, if you leave your tab open, they'll auto-close it for you with the 20% gratuity. Bathrooms we're clean while we were there. Not sure what all the complaining is about, we enjoyed our visit and are looking forward to returning. read more

I was really hoping to like this place but had such a disappointing experience. For reference we went to go see Thunderbolts on May 24th at 9:15pm. We had theatre 4, and wow since the beginning I was not trying to judge based off the seats but wow way worse than just that. The actual sound and quality were terrible, my tv at home sounds better than that. They unfortunately did not have the a/c on and it was hot, stuffy, and smelled like wet dog in there. The quality of the seats... terrible mine didn't even manually recline it was broken. Could it get worse? Yes. I ordered food at 9 and by 9:50 still had not received anything.. Lastly there were little flies in there that kept biting us and that is when I knew I had to leave. Overall awful experience, I do not recommended this place to anyone. Do not go here. read more

Not going to lie, I read through a good amount of reviews and got a little turned off before my visit. Honestly, my experience was nothing like what all the reviews were saying. Seats were comfortable, however, they are not automated recliners, you have to physically push the seat back yourself. No big deal. Once seated, you can scan a QR code and order food/drinks. They have a really odd selection and I'd probably advise against ordering anything other than popcorn at any movie theater but to each their own. My popcorn could've been hotter, fresher but honestly it was no different than Cinemark or AMC. Was good to me. Soda was fine too. People on Yelp complained that they took forever to get their food but mine came maybe 2-5 minutes after I ordered. It was before the movie started as well, so hardly any interruption. I do think it's a little goofy that the ONLY way to order food/drinks is by having someone bring it to you. It's a nice service but I honestly prefer to get my own stuff at the concessions like normal theaters. There were a few orders being served during the very beginning of the movie so it was a little distracting but no interruptions after. Servers were kind as well and provided napkins without having to ask. I read people complained about the air as well. I thought it was perfectly fine inside the theater. My friend found it hot but I'm unsure why. I had a jacket on as well and was fine. I will admit I am usually cold at the movies and wasn't here so it is probably a little warmer than other theaters but people were acting as if it's a sauna. Not really the case. Whole theater is a little goofy to me. Almost... Too modern for Downey. I frequented this theater when it was a Krikorian so naturally, it looks completely different. Entrance has an enormous bar and several tables to sit at, which is... strange. Had a club feel but it's a theater. Anyway, overall good experience. Would return! This is a cool concept, but VERY poorly executed. We got there 15 minutes before the movie started. On a sign, it says to get there 20 minutes early, sit in your seat and order your food. One problem, they weren't done cleaning the movie theater from the previous movie. The employee asks us to wait 5 minutes. We do and ask again. Still cleaning. Ask a 3rd time. Not ready yet. The previews are going to start in 5 minutes! WTF!!! Finally, we ask a different employee and he says to go right in. Grrr! We sit in our seats and look at the menu. They have a "deal". $29 for an appetizer, 2 main dishes and 2 desserts. Sounds good to me. However, there was a LARGE problem. 5 of the 8 entrees were sold out and 3 of the 4 desserts were sold out. Really? Why offer a deal if you can't use it? My girlfriend got her food in 5 minutes. Awesome! It took 20 minutes to get nachos. Plus, I could barely taste any cheese. I had to shine a light to see if I had any. The bill was closed out early and charged a 20% tip on lousy service and lousy food. This is the first and last time I am coming to this theater. Ok so this is a story about some shitty theater which is this one so here's what happened so I called my friends one day and I asked you wanna go watch lilo and stitch today they said sure so we ordered our food but I ordered 6 buffalo wings I said to the girl can I have lemon grated fries she said yes sure and I asked her can I have the lemon grated fries for the side and she said oh we don't have any I'm like ok that's fine my friend said to me didn't she said that we had lemon grated fries I'm like yea she said that and when asked for it on the side she said we don't have any and I'm like whatever then I said ok I will just have regular fries then when I got my buffalo wings there wasn't veggies there was peppers yea PEPPERS I'm like this is confusing because I order the wings and they always come with veggies but they came with peppers I said to the guy hey they messed up my order and he's like I'm so sorry we will get those veggies for you I said ok then he comes up to me and says that we are out of veggies I'm like it's fine so I ate the wings and I forgot about my fries that I ordered then I ask the guy that where are my fries then he's like sorry let me get those fries for you I'm like ok then he doesn't come back for 20 goddamn minutes then I press the button to call him I said hey I think you forgot my fries oh yeah sorry I'm like your good then he doesn't come back for 40 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm like dude is he ignoring me and I press the button once again I see him walking up the steps then note that these employees have little things on their waistline that lights up red when a customer asks for them then he looks at it and he's like nah with his hand and I'm like what the fuck your telling me your going to ignore a customer then he finally comes back and gives me my fries and ranch I said thank you and I'm so pissed and also the seats were terrible like they were so torn up like a bear clawed the seats up and for manager tell your employees to listen to their customers and don't ignore me because I'm waiting a whole hour for fries it doesn't take that long for fries I've cooked them myself so get better employees read more

And now they want us to move during the movie. the staff Michael that assist was very rude and condescendin. Shakes aren't available anymore due to kitchen manager not ordering the stuff anymore...chairs are falling apart, not comfortable at all, you gotta push it out for it to "lay" which hardly even lays down. This place has a parking lot nearby. We went on a Tuesday and apparently those are the discount days because it was packed. Our show time was at 7 pm and there was a huge group ahead of us so they opened up another counter for us. However, my one problem is how dirty the lobby main hallway way. Someone either threw up or peed themselves and it smelled awful. They were trying to clean up however the smell was very poignant. We were the only 2 people in our theatre, we ordered food which was way over priced and so nasty... $60 bucks later ... they charge you before you get your food... I was so over the whole thing I just decided to YELP them and never return! We ordered. 1 Dr Pepper. 1 popcorn. 1 nachos and chicken strips. $60.00 not even 1 napkin! I made the mistake of going to the bathroom.. 3 stalls... 1 door wouldn't lock.. not 1 piece of toilet paper in 3 stalls! Nice looking place with easy parking. I can appreciate the go straight to your seats and order from there part of this place but I really wish it was easier. The QR scan thing needs to be easier and faster, a few times I needed help with lighting in order to scan my card. The food does get processed really fast which is awesome so you don't have to wait long for the yummy buttery popcorn to enter your face hole and take you to salty heaven. I went for matinee on the weekend, prices were really good . I do however wish the sound was much louder, I got to the movies to watch big and hear big, movies at the theaters should be loud. Nope, don't come here if you are expecting a "Luxury" experience. The seats are badly worn and dirty, with fools debris. The cup holder had left over trash and melted chocolate in it. The floors in the theater were disgusting, and there was trash and popcorn strewn throught the facility. Food was OK, but the kitchen got our order wrong and there is no way to summon assistance once the order is dropped off. All in all not a good experience. Unfortunately this more or less ruined a special occasion for us. I wish I had read all the one star reviews before we came. The management does seem to be taking any action to address these negative reviews. read more

Restrooms had no paper towels, seats in theatre were torn and worn down and looked pretty gross to sit on. For a place that emphasizes on dining in the theatre you would assume that cleanliness and appearance would be priority. Service was pretty good, attendants were nice and attentive. Avoid the nachos, they cheap out and just use normal American cheese melted on chips instead of normal nacho cheese. This used to me my go to movie theater when it was SMG before the pandemic. I was sad when I saw that they closed so recently after they had just remodeled. Luckily for Look cinema thought, who took over. While the features of the business is the same as before, the service and quality doesn't match anymore. The quality of the food isn't as good. They also became more pricy and do not offer the daily specials that the previous business had. One thing I was really annoyed about was that they didn't honor their Tuesday discount tickets for a movie as it was released that week. They informed me that it was only allowed after the movie has been out awhile, which makes no sense. No where does it say that there are exemptions to the deal. This did frustrate me enough to actually take my business elsewhere and went to watch the movie at AMC instead. read more

I've not been here in almost a year. Sadly to my surprised to see the theatre seats in such bad shape very worn out. It broke my heart !! It looked beautiful last year. The staff was very nice . My husband wanted to go out for dinner and a movie with the kids. I thought, why not combine these. I found Look Cinemas in Downey. Purchasing tix online was super easy. We had an employee take our food order as soon as we sat down (get there a little early if you're really hungry). I had the ahi tuna salad... I was apprehensive about ordering a salad from a movie theater... but it was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The kids had burgers and chicken strips with fries. Husband went with a burger too. Burgers were tasty. Fries were good. Chicken strips were a little dry. We sat in row c because I wanted my kids to remain engaged through a 2.5 hr. All the negatives reviews are spot on! First off, part of going to the movies, when you first walk in, is having some type of interaction with staff whether buying tickets or getting food etc. It felt underwhelming, no snack bar, nothing to grab before you go in the movie. I totally disliked the food order process. The food took forever, my food, chicken strips and loaded fries were pretty much cold. My daughter's garlic cheese sticks were burnt. The seats were in terrible shape! This place needs to rethink some things! read more
