Today was my first time going to a LOOK theater and unfortunately it will be my last. This place has so much potential if it didn't lack the basic necessities of a good quality movie experience. For reference, I went to go see Sinners on 5/9/2025 at 6:30pm in auditorium 4. 1.) The seats are horrible. They are ripped up, have food between the crevices, and are not comfortable to sit in (much less for a 2+ hr movie). 2.) The sound quality is not good. The movie had the same sound as a busted, cheap speaker. There was also a buzzing sound throughout the entire movie that was very distracting. 3.) The quality of the screen is not good. The movie was not centered correctly on the screen and the quality was a bit blurry. 4.) The lights that run along the floor of the theater are bright and also distracted from the movie. I will say the food service was great. They were fast and the food was not bad. There are waiters that will cross in front of you while you watch the movie to give others their orders, but I think that's a given considering you are at a dine-in movie theater. All in all, I am someone who can't settle for poor audio, visuals, and comfort when it comes to movie theaters so I won't be returning! read more

I don't even know where to begin. My husband and I wanted to try someplace that we thought was similar to Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas. Let's just say we walked in, seen the seating and was shocked. We sat down for about 2mins, my husband and i looked at eachother and we knew we had to leave. We went to the manager and my husband asked for a refund. Came here because it was the closest theater showing Frankenstein. Was shocked at how bad the condition of the seats were in the theater...peeling and falling apart. Trash everywhere. The theater had not been cleaned between showings. We almost didn't want to sit down. Then the bigger issue - the movie was BLURRY and the audio quality was terrible. It was like watching a bootleg copy of the movie. We could have watched it at home on Netflix for no extra cost and came here to experience it on the big screen. The seats are worn down to the point it scratches the back of your legs.. Tonight was the second time they never delivered the dessert I ordered. We pressed the button half way through the movie hoping to remind them and they never came to check up on us. Then when we excited the theater to ask for a box and a refund no one was around. I tried getting the attention of someone from the back, they made eye contact and ignored me. Finally someone came from upstairs and they gave me a box and a refund. This was my second time here at LOOK Dine-in Cinema in Downtown Downey and unfortunately, I'm still disappointed. The reclining chair was clearly damaged. Looking at it, it seemed worn out and unclean, almost like there could be bed bugs (see my photos). To make things worse, the theater was unbearably hot, making it an uncomfortable experience overall. For a dine-in cinema, I expected a much better atmosphere. The theater is filthy, and the seats are disintegrating. The seat numbers are completely inaccurate. While attempting to recline my seat, which never reclined, I punctured my hand on what appeared to be an exposed nail protruding from the handrest. To make matters worse, it took half of the movie for my kids to get their icee. I wish they would simply pay more attention to the deteriorating condition of the theater. We have been wanting to see a movie at look for a while now. The theater was nice and welcoming, seats are comfy and function like lazy boys. Price point was not bad. They sell a variety of food, alcohol, and desserts. We ordered out food as soon as we sat down and it took no more than 20min to be served, not bad at all! I had the chicken tenders and fries, the chicken was moist and crispy on the outside, they gave me a variety of dips. The server was on top of it, I didn't get her name, wish I had she was great! I can see how going there on weekend evenings, food might take a bit longer, but not the case during the time we visited. I also think when you visit a place you should clean up after yourself, so the dirty pics from other people reviews, don't do this place justice. I was impressed at first when I walked into the theater lobby , it looked promising.. kinda fancy with a full bar and friendly employees price was reasonable $13 a ticket with wait service (order from phone and they bring you the food ) Seats were extremely uncomfortable imo .. it's like they half reclined, and I was looking forward to a full recline.. I kind of didn't know what to do with my legs.. halfway through the movie I felt like I really needed a stretch , also kind of run down .. We booked two tickets to a special showing of The Exorcist, got there right on time and ordered food through their app once we sat down. (Very expensive, but what do you expect from a theatre?) Trailers play, and then end... nothing else shows up on screen. We wait for over ten minutes with no movie playing before an employee brings me my drink and I ask if he can see what's going on. Another ten and we're told that there's a problem and they aren't even able to show the film tonight. Nobody was in the booth to monitor the film. I want to make it clear that this is a *management* issue, not the fault of the servers working. They were very helpful. Whoever the MOD was needs to re-evaluate how they allocate labor to ensure this does not happen again. Will not be returning. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I am requesting a full refund for my movie ticket purchase on 01/01/2026 for The Housemaid at 12:40pm. The movie theater was extremely disgusting. The seats were in terrible condition with tears, large holes, and sticky with food and crumbs left everywhere. When I walked into the theater, no one was up front to greet nor scan the tickets that I purchased, so I continued to find my theater and seat myself. When I entered theater 7, the sound of the movie was like someone was using their personal home speaker to play the movie. The sound was terrible. The staff walking around were very unhelpful and looked lost. One of your bartenders made drinks and I watched him taste test someone's drink with the straw he used to make them. I want all of my money back and please DO NOT offer any discounts or credits because I am not coming back. The final straw was the rating record of a "B" you received from the health inspection which was unsurprising given what I witness walking into this dump. Do better or close down. read more

I grew up in Downey so this theatre (previously known as Krikorian) was a place I've been to since it first opened its doors in 1997. However, since LOOK took over I will have to say that this will definitely be the last time I will ever come to this theatre. The seats were very beat up and you have to manually recline the seat. Which is really weird considering LOOK took over in 2021. You would think that their furniture would be up to date. I did however appreciate the QR codes on every seat which made it much more convenient than standing in lines. BUT..my biggest complaint was the service. Service was horrible. I ordered popcorn, a fountain drink and a bottle of water maybe about 10 mins prior to our movie starting. I noticed the family next to us placed their order after us and received their food way before us. About 10-15 mins into the movie we finally got our popcorn. And maybe about halfway through the bag, we still didn't receive our drinks. I turned the little light on to notify one of the workers and after about 5 mins nobody showed up. So I took it upon myself to go to their service area and told one of the workers we never received our drinks. He asked what my seat number was and looked at the orders to see if maybe it was just sitting there. NOTHING! Then he asks me what I ordered and proceeds to tell another worker to grab my drinks. I was finally handed what I was ordered and the worker turned away as if I was bothering him ....no apology, no explanation, NOTHING! To management....if you want your place of business to succeed, I suggest you have your employees go through a training where they're taught respect and manners. The Chairs were falling apart with minimal comfort, and the cracks of the seats had old moldy food from the last showing from god-knows how long ago. All was okay, until I order 1 slushie for 10 DOLLARS. Absurd but whatever, I wait for what's promoted as my LARGE BLUE RASPBERRY SLUSHIE, and it comes out as a bare minimum of EXTRA SMALL. If this hadn't been one of the few theaters showing Frankenstein nearby we probably wouldn't have come here and most likely we won't be back. This theater is terrible. The chairs are kinda hard and the upholstery had bald spots like someone peeled away spots of it all over. The screen kind of looked damaged or like it had ripples in it and the top couple feet of the screen was cut off and the picture was kinda faded. They seemed to try to fix it partway through by squishing the picture so it would fit on the visible part of the screen almost like letterbox but the captions were half cutoff at the bottom and it still seemed like the top of the screen was cut off. The food was OK but took a really long time to get to us. We ordered waters, popcorn, pizza, and wings. They forgot our popcorn but the server brought it as soon as I mentioned it and said he took it off our bill. My partner said the bathrooms were horrible too. read more

I went to watch a movie today and first thing i noted was that the seats were reallly old and worn out and was surprised that downey would overlook the most important thing about a theater. Second, the area smells like sewer and i realized that the restroom inside the theater is making the street smell like sewer or vice versa, so eww gross. Lastly, i felt itchy after sitting there from feeling like the seats are probably never sanitized not sure if the old seats were the reason why i walked out with a bite on my arm. I definitely would not recommend for anyone to come. Do not waste your time, its not worth it and AMC has better promotions such as getting free refills on large food items with the amc subscription and this theater has no refills and the food seems to be smaller. We went to go see Avatar Fire and Ash for my brothers birthday. We asked for a diffrent time because we were an Hour late and they were good about it. So we caught the 4:00 instead the sound for the characters speaking was muffled the whole movie, but the background was way too loud. I told a manager and she tried to fix it but she couldn't. She should've just turned the movie off and moved it to a diffrent theater. I ordered food and it cost about $62. That was outrageous. I saw service and tax and something else that o wasnt familiar with. Not being able to hear the voices of the characters really bugged me so I went back again to say something. We didnt leave because we drove pretty far to come check out this theater because a friend said the tickets were cheap...I see why now. The make their money from the food. IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY YOUR STAFF IT SHOULD NOT BE THE GUESTS RESPONSIBILITY. I do not recommend this spot and it was hard finding someone because they were always gone. First time here & it was a great experience. The employee are very nice & friendly. This place is huge & very clean. I love the fact that I can watch a movie & eat dinner at the same time, in a nice comfy recliner a dream come true. They have a bar with giant TVs making it a great spot to have a drink while you wait to go inside the theater. The prices for the drink are a little high but then again everything is so expensive these days. The food is ok not the greatest but it will do is fairly priced. I deff recommend this place. I respectfully request that management upgrade the seating and enhance cleaning protocols to prevent the spread of dirt, crumbs, and sticky surfaces. Everything else is satisfactory, and I would hate to see this establishment close.Loved this theater when it used to be Krikorian Theaters. Now it's LOOK Cinema. In the beginning, I did like it and enjoyed coming. But now it's very uncomfortable. Their chairs are filthy, worn out and the armrest is very dirty as well. In between the chairs, there's a bunch of crumbs and food, and the floors are super sticky. Please get some new theater chairs and do better when it comes to cleaning inside the seating area. This has got to be the worst movie theater that I have ever been to. The reviews are absolutely spot on, however, I decided to give it a try....oops To start off, when you take your seats that you assign yourself when you purchase the tickets, majority of the seats are ripped up and just feel dirty. You scan a QR code to get the menu on your phone, however, their Wi-Fi is dreadful, and reception in there was also not the best. So it was hard to even open up the menu to order anything. I ordered quite a few things, here we go. Popcorn, was literally cold. I ordered nachos and the chips were stale, and the nacho cheese was literally the nastiest thing I have ever tasted in my life. Dipping the chips in them felt like it was a sinkhole, they smelled awful, and tasted even worse. I literally couldn't eat more than one chip. The french fries were the only good thing. Arnold Palmer was disgusting. They have so many things on the menu but you'd be insane to order 90% of it if they can't make basic movie theater food, what makes you think they can actually make a good shrimp tempura or salmon? Literally on their menu as well... I also ended up with a stomach ache before the movie was over. Thanks! Now onto the movie, not sure what it was, but it seemed like there was another movie next-door that had insanely loud bass so whenever it would go off when the scenes of my movie was relatively quiet, you could hear the base very loudly. It's like your neighbor playing music in their car while you're in your bedroom super loud and annoying. Overall, I would absolutely never come back here again, and I would never recommend it to anybody. The food was dreadful. The seats were uncomfortable, the movie experience sucked because of the loud base. Do yourself a favor go to any other dine in Cinema just not this one. You will regret it. read more
