Leaving the house just doesn't feel worth it anymore. It's frustrating to spend your hard-earned money only to be met with disappointing experiences driven by corporate greed. We came here to treat the kids to a fun outing to see Minecraft, but were shocked by how far this place has declined. Right when you walk in, it's impossible to ignore the torn, worn-out seats and the damaged swivel tables. The food took nearly an hour to arrive, and when it finally did, it was cold. On top of that, the portions were noticeably smaller, making the high prices feel even more unreasonable...let's not forget the AUDACITY to charge $2 for water. WATER?! After all the money already spent...unbelievable. The only thing I can't complain about was the screen and audio quality...the actual movie experience was solid. But everything else desperately needs attention. This place needs an overhaul. At least offer some value in return. Right now, it feels completely unacceptable.

Looks cool from the outside but is a dump

What an absolute shithole. I don't even know where to begin. (Please read these reviews and listen to them guys, believe everything you read about this place because it is all TRUE) Walking up to the theater, I thought it looked pretty cool but I had a really off feeling once inside. Yeah, there is a bar and stuff but other than that, the lobby is really bland and soulless. The workers don't even really acknowledge your presence either. My friend and I bought tickets to go see Weapons. As the previews ran, I realized that the audio was incredibly loud. Like super loud. My ears are still ringing actually and I left the theater an hour and a half ago. The movie itself was not bad, it was quite good but man, the audio in the theater was abysmal. And something tells me the screen was also not in the best quality. Something about it seemed unordinary. The recliners were also some of the worst I have ever sat in. Not only are they peeling like crazy, but some of them don't even recline all the way. They are terrible! Now I know this next part is not really the theater's fault but I am going to talk about it anyway. This was one of the WORST theater going experiences I have ever had because of the audience. The theater was not even packed, there were people scattered throughout the auditorium but oh boy were they fucking annoying. The people further down the row from us brought children in (why anyone would bring children to a movie like Weapons is beyond me) and they were giggling and laughing the entire time. Twenty minutes into the movie, a large amount of people came in and sat in the row behind us. They were so rambunctious coming in and some of them proceeded to whisper the entire movie in Spanish. A few times during the movie, the cries of a baby could be heard from the front of the theater which definitely made it difficult to concentrate on what was going on. Someone's phone kept going off during the movie too and they did not ever silence it and it looked like someone towards the front was also taking photos of the screen with the flash on at one point. Absurd. It was all around just fucking awful. If this is the type of clientele this theater attracts, people who are rude and disrespectful in a place where being silent is of the essence, then I will never come back here again. I wish I had paid full price for tickets and gone to see it elsewhere. You know something, I am actually a little grateful I came here tonight. This entire experience has made me appreciate all the other theaters in the area so much more. Knowing that I have so many options to choose from that are 1000x better than this dumpster fire of a theater puts a big smile on my face.

    18 % surcharge for a living wage.

This theater use to be so awesome before it changed names and owners I'm assuming. Walked in to see a movie no one around. Had to use the computer console. Ordered movie seats and food. There is an 18% surcharge for non bar items. It says it's not a tip. So they want a tip on top of that. If this establishment cannot pay its work force it should shut down. The computer I used malfunctioned and charged me but did not print. Had to go look for one of the overworked employees . Employee was kind and helped locate and print my receipt and tickets. Bathrooms were a mess. Wish employees kept the entire %18 percent surcharge.

If I could give this theatre zero stars I would. This was my first and last time coming here. The recliners are peeling and nasty and the functionality is manual. There is a great concept where a staff person comes up to your seat to take your order, but it took about an hour and half to get some French fries only for them to be disgusting. How do you mess up French fries?? We had to return them. I enjoyed the movie, but this theatre was abysmal. DO NOT come here!!!

I Had a great time watching Marty supreme very clean theater with comfortable seats I definitely recommend coming to watch a movie here while eating some delicious food brought to you while you're relaxing enjoying your movie! Can't ask for a better experience! I recommend checking out the deal they're currently offering for the infinity club it saves you a good amount of money if you enjoy watching movies it's absolutely worth it!

Bar $2. Off Draft Beer During Happy Hour. M-F. Only Available At Bar!!! Can't order from seats. Not so bad doe

Lobby and hallway are nice . I see the vision. I love the NEON GREEN they got going on . But dang are them seats BUSTED UP They need electric recliners . For these ones you have to kick back and they hurt your ass. Like sitting on a floor board. Lol. !! The combos were also disappointing. It was a "regular" popcorn and a regular soda and it was a small BOWL . No complimentary refill for that price. Will say the $6 tickets are a STEAL on Tuesdays. Customer service is solid too no doubt about it In old saying "You Get What Chu Pay For" RIP Krikorian Days

Seats head rest was even worse

I can't give 0 so 1 star . 1st time here and I was very regretful going to this place. As we walked in me and my 10yr old daughter we saw it outdated we arrived 40 minutes early and we went to sit in lobby and noticed they where In terrible shape all scratched up fabric all worn off and felt uncomfortable to sit in them We went in early to our theater and as soon walk in popcorn trash everywhere, trash cans full seats looked worse than lobby and even worse out seats had wet substances and wet food very disgusting and had ask to come clean. I wanted to ask for a refund but my daughter really wanted see movie . I can't believe this company let's this place look like this. Food was well overpriced as was drinks . Truly bad terrible experience.

    Disgusting seats in theatre 1
    Marguerite C.

Most disgusting seats I've ever had to sit on. I had to put a jacket down just to sit. Hours later I'm all itchy, hope I didn't get bed bugs or anything... it was that disgusting. For sure will never go back there. Good concept, but they totally missed the mark with those seats. (See pictures attached). So gross!! And I actually think I was so shocked, that I didn't even think to get a refund and get out of there.

    Damaged and dirty.

This has become our go to theater for the last 2-3 years..... however today Saturday, July 12th 2025, we came to watch Jurassic Park in theater 5 and I was shocked to see the poor condition the reclining chairs are in and not to mention the poor attention to the cleanliness. Usually we always have a fantastic experience here but theater 5.... Wow I guess they just completely forgot to remodel this one. Look at pictures.

Entire top of the screen cut off with the film not even centered.
    Christian Q.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. This makes 3 chances I've given this theater. I've seen Superman, Weapons and tonight (11/16/2025) Predator Badlands here and each time something new has happened. Tonight the emergency alarm went off about 25 minutes into the movie and we were evacuated only to find out it was a false alarm to which the staff offered NOTHING. Couldn't playback the film, No refunds, no explanation. The LOOK DOWNEY has the the WORST projections screens. It is so incredibly dark it's almost unwatchable. I will never come back. They can't even fill the screen properly. Attached is a photo of the projection MISSING the entire top portion and it's completely off center. Have been coming here since it was a Krikorian. This place sucks.

What a dump. I didn't what to expect till I walked into the theater.
    David F.

What a dump. I didn't what to expect till I walked into the theater. Spend your money at another movie theater. Seats are worn out and do not recline. Outdated AF.

The theater isn't huge like your typical movie theater, but honestly, that wasn't a negative for us at all. We actually really enjoyed the smaller, more intimate feel. What really stood out was their extensive food menu. My husband and I tried their taquitos, and honestly, they were so tasty! We also got the nachos. My husband gets nachos every single time we go to the movies, and he loved the Hispanic twist they put on these. Beer, good food, and a movie? We were definitely satisfied! They also have signature cocktails inspired by the movies they're showing, which I thought was such a cute touch! We'll definitely be back.

I then remembered I needed a straw. *** there were 3 workers right next to the condiment area where I needed to get a straw. One of them must've been a manager because he was wearing a suit. They were in the way so I said excuse me and one moved. They were talking about their weekend plans and I tried not to pay attention because it wasn't my business. I was struggling to get a straw while juggling my kid and snacks. The 3 workers were literally right next to me and for a good min saw me struggle to try to get a straw. No one ever offered help. Otherwise you will be waiting in a huge line and may be fighting for a good spot, so you can be far away from the we*d smokers or smokers of any kind, if you are a nonsmoker like we are . Prices are still cheap. Only $14 for general admission (12 and older). Way better than walk in theater general admission prices. Pretty sure ticket prices are cash. So make sure you have cash for tickets. We came to see Mortal Kombat II. Which was amazing. I never saw the first movie. But you don't have to have seen the first to follow this movie. One reason I wanted to see this movie is Mortal Kombat II is my favorite video game (SNES) version of the MK video games. The best place to see an action movie is on the massive drive-in theater movie screen. Not Imax, etc. So we went here. Another great thing about drive in theaters is you can bring your own food and you can have privacy with your date inside your vehicle, if you know what I mean . Just have privacy glass. Because a family of kids can be parked next to your vehicle. If you want, you can bring chairs and sit outside your vehicle and watch. Which is also a great choice. Especially if you have kids. They will love sitting outside. If you do sit outside, bring a coat, blanket, etc. It gets cold at night. The concession is cheap af and not like walk in movie theater prices. For example, their large popcorn is huge. Yet its only $10 with taxes. We got ours with extra butter. They offer a lot of other good stuff too at great prices. But we only wanted warm popcorn with extra butter. I saw some raggedy ATM machines in there. Not sure if concession got them there so you can use cash to buy food. But I didn't ask as I already had some cash on me to buy popcorn. So make sure you bring cash for concession as well. Make sure you vehicle radio can tune to 90.1 FM and you can leave it on without it draining your battery and without parking/headlights being activated. It drives us movie goers crazy when some foolish person will turn on their headlights while everyone else is trying to enjoy the film. Also, if you need a radio for showing, you can buy one from them for $20 at concession. Great experience here. I love this place. Like I said, I havent been here in like 6 years. Last time I was here, one ticket paid for double feature. Which was a steal. Because after Mortal Kombat II, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. Which we already saw at a walk in theater. But we were ready to see it again on the biggest screen ever. They dont do double features anymore. So if the website shows two movies, dont misread like I did. It clearly says: "TICKETS ARE FOR A SINGLE SHOW TIME ONLY." I was wondering why everyone was leaving after Mortal Kombat II was over . We stayed in vehicle until security drove by and told us they only do single features. We weren't the only ones he had to tell. Great experience here. Cant wait to see another larger than life movie here.

Food: The concession stand has all the movie essentials fresh popcorn, candy, nachos, hot dogs, and drinks. The prices are pretty reasonable for a movie theater. You can't go wrong with buttery popcorn and an Icee! Ambience: The theater has a relaxed, nostalgic neighborhood movie theater feel. The auditoriums are spacious, the reserved seating makes everything easier, and it's usually clean and comfortable. It may not have all the bells and whistles of some luxury theaters, but it delivers where it counts: a comfortable seat, a big screen, and an enjoyable movie experience. Theater 1 is EPEX with reclined seats however they have updated some of their other rooms with new leather seats. Pricing: This is where Starlight truly shines! We found an employee who helped us and determined that our movie was actually playing in Theatre 7, so we missed part of the movie because we had been directed to the wrong auditorium. I want to be clear that this employee was helpful and was not the problem. He told us to go to Guest Services after the movie so the theater could address the mistake and provide a refund or replacement tickets. We did exactly that. At approximately 10:45 PM, we went to Guest Services. A female Starlight employee was standing behind the Guest Services counter using her phone. My friend politely asked if she could help us. She rudely said no. We then asked if she could at least let someone know that customers were waiting for assistance, and she again rudely refused. We later learned from House Manager Jaelyn that this employee was apparently off the clock. We had absolutely no way of knowing that. She was a Starlight employee standing behind the Guest Services counter. Had she simply said, "I'm off the clock, but I can get someone to help you," there likely would have been no issue at all. What turned a frustrating but easily fixable situation into the reason we will not return was Jaelyn's response as the manager on duty. Rather than first asking what had happened, hearing both sides, or attempting to resolve the original problem, Jaelyn escalated the situation and repeatedly focused on having me escorted from the theater. We tried to explain that we were only at Guest Services because Starlight had sent us to the wrong auditorium and their own employee had specifically instructed us to return after the movie for assistance. When I asked Jaelyn whether the incident and our complaint would be documented, I could not get a meaningful answer. I eventually asked for the contact information of a manager above her. She provided a handwritten name and email address for Tricia M. To make matters worse, when I attempted to send my formal complaint to the email address we were provided, the email was returned as undeliverable because the address provided to us was invalid. Mistakes happen. Being sent to the wrong auditorium could have been resolved with an apology and basic customer service. Even the interaction with the employee behind the counter could have been de-escalated quickly. Instead, the house manager escalated the situation rather than resolving it. I have since submitted a formal complaint through Starlight Cinemas' corporate channels and requested management review the incident. We will not be returning to this location. The original theater mistake was frustrating, but the way House Manager Jaelyn handled the situation is ultimately why Starlight Lakewood lost us as customers.
