Brought my kids to cool off from the heatwave and they were so excited to enjoy what the theatre has to offer. This is one of the worst places I have ever been in. I have seen movies in cinemas in third world countries that are better than this cinemas. I swear it's unfair to give this place one star but that's how yelp wants it to be. First, no customer service no one says hi or bye. I walked in a girl looked at Mr email and said screen 9. For 10 minutes I was looking for screen 9. I couldn't find anyone to help me locate the screen they were all busy hiding in a corner watching something on YouTube. Apparently the screens by the theaters are broken so you won't know where to go because they are not numbered Second, no food in a dine in theater? I scanned the code to order my food but everything marked out of order. I thought there is something wrong with app. I went out to ask for help. Again no one in sight. After 10 minutes someone comes out of the back and she said we only have popcorn and soda. I asked is this why won't you notify us before we walked in she didn't answer me. Third the theater is old and nasty. The picture is bad , surround sound non existing and the recliners ( lazy chairs) are ripped and broken. Fourth the bathrooms are like high schools bathrooms tagged, dirty and broken doors. I am not sure this place is still open it's a scam. They take your money and your just on your own. I mean I know Downey is ghetto and low class but still these people pay to come and dine in a theater so why would you scam them like this. I should have stayed in OC were human are humans. My personal experience here has always been great! Every time I come I'm greeted with the greatest and nicest service. Especially from an employee named Crystal. She gave excellent service. Usually when I go to Look the food and drinks are fine but today just made me want to write this review so hopefully they see and this doesn't happen again. Not sure what happened today, maybe bc it was a Friday and it was busier than normal. I ordered the Look-a-Rita frozen, which I have done before, and I wanted it again bc it was so good last time! This time I could tell the drink had been dispensed into the glass, then frozen in the freezer for hours because when it arrived to me the drink was frozen at the bottom of the straw. The center of the drink was still frozen solid and the sides were foamy and melted, as if left to thaw out for a few minutes before serving. The drink was frozen so long it left my tongue and roof of my mouth feeling numb and like I got frostbite or something. It's been 2 hours since the movie ended and my mouth still doesn't feel normal lol. Just please dispense it in the glass when ordered! The last time I ordered it it had began melting from the top, like it should, not from the sides with a frozen center. Then I asked for the on the rocks version instead. I was served it quickly but, the drink had no alcohol this time and tasted like only mix was inside. Again, I had to call an attendant to fix it. The THIRD time, my drink had maybe one shot inside and it was the wrong margarita flavor. I understand it can be busy on a weekend, but the team has to come together to make it easier on everyone so they don't have to take shortcuts that effect quality! I don't blame anyone but the higher ups who left this unchecked. Like the lobby restroom...I used the soap dispenser that's attached to the sink and black stuff shot out before the soap did. I'm giving a 4 -Star to the staff, I've been there twice and always see the staff working hard for the customers. I hope management see the hard work staff does for strangers. With that said, I hope management does something about the bathrooms. Pretty rough, maybe hire a full time staff to deal with the bathrooms all day. Leave the food staff to food and FOH staff to deal with lobby and tickets, but damn managers or shift supervisors should be in there to clean! Give the employees a fare wage and hire new members to stay on top of the bathrooms. Thanks to the food servers, staff and members. Managers and or owners need to do something about the bathrooms. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID THIS PLACE. Never had a bad experience at a movie theatre until I came to LOOK cinemas the seats were horrible and ripping apart. They were old fashion seats not electric reclining seats and they made a lot of noise. Customer service was horrible a lot of the workers were on their phones. I came around 8:30 for showing of imaginary on Monday. Last call for snacks was at 9:30 you had to scan a barcode and scan another barcode when it directs you to the website but I couldn't since it was dark and couldn't scan the QR CODE. Went to talk to a worker about the situation said to go back to the seat and press on button and someone should come and no one did. I went again to ask another worker but was told she'll get there when she can and mind you it was almost empty theatre. I was a bit exciting when coming to this theatre expecting more then others but I should have gone to Edward's or AMC where none of the seats are ripped and workers are happy to help. Whoever is managing this place should really look into improving their staff and themselves. read more

First time coming here. Last time I came to this theater was when it was a krikorian. I have to say the exterior looks great. But once we parked in the parking structure things went downhill. - Side street reeked horribly. Turning the corner we saw the curb covered in what I would call trash juice from the trash bins. - We walked right in..no greet...no one even scanned our tickets. I could have just walked in without buying a ticket. Not sure if thats a pro or con lol - Theater smelled like what I would describe as wet cardboard. - We didn't even know the movie started. 1 preview and movie just started. No dimming of the lights. -The audio was HORRIBLE. It could only be heard from behind the curtain. No bass. We watched Thor and the action scenes came out flat. You could barely hear the background music setting the tone of the scene. The villain comes out of shadows and we could barely see what was going on. Any dark scenes is just a black screen - Employees walking back and forth was a bit distracting. But the concept of bringing the food to your seat is nice. Maybe just the execution of it can be improved - Walking out we got blocked by employees trying to walk in while we walked out...bro just let us leave then come and do your thing. Make your job easier. One positive note is I accidently pushed the button on the table and a employee came within 5 minutes to ask if we needed anything. I explained it was a accident and she explained I can push it again to cancel the help. She also made sure to explain how the ordering app works. read more

5$ Tuesdays are such a bargain but it feels like this place is run by teenagers with zero work ethic. The delivery system could be improved. Would be cool if they brought napkins with your order but they never do. Both times I ordered popcorn, there was oily butter down the side of the bag and no napkins. Place is a mess. I walked into theater room 30 mins before start time and trash/left over still on chair. No AC and manager said it is controlled from corp and she would "email" them . Cleaning crew shrug shoulders when asked about AC before speaking with manager. Place was hot and trashy...paid way too much for food and tickets to seat in a hot foul smelling room . The best thing about Look Dine-In is the Infinity. I purchased during the Black Friday and it allowed me to have a theater ticket each day for a year on releases for 99 dollars. I enjoyed it immediately as I could come here with a reserve ticket, relax and have a drink. I saw both Godzilla minus 1, The Iron Claw, The Chosen, Migration and Radical all in a month. The program pays for itself and I recommend it fully. read more

I want to come back and share something that I believe is more constructive than one bad experience with the manager. The staff. I want to share about how amazing and hard-working they are. Yes, it may still need a little more organization and tweak some things here and there but the commitment and effort the workers are putting in is commendable. They have to go up and down stairs and sometimes in the dark to get people their food and drinks. I've seen some of them tired and I can imagine that it's tiresome and having to do it with a mask on. Everyone I've had an in-person interaction with has been very friendly and kind and truly hustle to do their best before the movie starts! I've seen it many times now. I do want to make one suggestion: the nacho cheese - eek. Could you guys bring in something a little better- this is for the cinema. The cheese hardens after it cools down (and it cools down quick) and it feels like I'm sticking nachos in hard puddy. It's almost like semi-melted plastic. read more

Don't come here. Came in yesterday, Sun night. Walked into the theatre and our seats were dirty. Floor had popcorn. I don't know if they even had it cleaned or they just left it like that. Went to the front to have get our seats changed. We just sat down when this guy asked us if we wanted to order ( we just had sat down) we hadn't even open the app to see the menu) he came back again, he took our order (they actually ask if we want to tip cash or credit) wow! So they bring the drinks fast. 30 min passed and no hot wings. Pushed the "call button" a girl comes towards us and we tell her our food was missing so she goes and "sees what happened". Another 15-20 min pass and nothing. My friend goes down to cancel the order and they asked him 3 times if he was sure he didn't get his order. What in the world? Why would he waste his time from the movies to do this?? They said they didn't know what had happen. I would have asked for the entire bill credited back even though we had our drinks for having such bad experience over all. Definitely not returning. The whole dine in experience is not worth the hype of this theater that is so dirty and service flunked. By the way, it was a hot day and the room was stuffy. No AC!! I noticed when we were walking to the theatre, they had the back door open. I even though to myself, " I hope the AC is not broken ". The workers here did not greet us at all. It's a shame that you HAVE to order through a QR and not being able to order in person. The seats are very dirty. I recommend instead of having people take your food to you, they should use those workers to clean up after the movie is over. While waiting for the movie to start they had us wait in pitch black room with not dim lights. There is no commercials or trailers to show before the movie starts which is even worst. The room smells dirty. And restrooms are not well maintained. This was my first time here and I should've looked at the reviews before coming. I have never had such a poor experience at a movie theater. I'm honestly just shocked at how poorly this place operates. We've been to this location before when it was formerly the Studio Movie Grill, and there was not ever issue there. When I saw that they rebranded and claimed to offer luxury seating and dine-in service I was intrigued. My partner also found a buy one, get one free movie ticket offer on their website, so it seemed like an offer we didn't want to pass up. Well, it all went downhill as soon as we arrived for the movie. 1) A group of teens walked in wearing no masks. I also couldn't find any signs that said masks were required to enter, but no one was checking at the front any way. 2) the floors were so sticky you could hear my sandals coming off the floor every time I stepped. This made me concerned about how clean everything is inside. 3) the bathrooms were very dirty and smelled like urine. I regretted walking in and got out of there as soon as possible. My partner told me that the mens bathroom was just as dirty and smelly. Despite, all these red flags I still wanted to give this location a shot. We walked into our screening room looking for our seats and OMG. My partner's seat was the "luxury" seat, but my seat was a rolling chair. We were so confused as to why we didn't get the same type of seats when there was no indication on the website that the seats would be any different. We also didn't select to sit in an area designated for folks who need special seating, so I was completely thrown off as to why there was a handicapped symbol on my seat because now I felt like I took a seat away from someone who actually needed the accommodation. Anyways, the chair was extremely uncomfortable and stiff. I had to stretch multiple times throughout the movie because it was giving me back pain. Through all of this, I still wanted to give the place a chance, so I decided I would try to order some popcorn and soda water--just keeping it simple. I got the soda water (which was just regular water in a cup and room temperature) very quickly. But for whatever reason they never brought me my popcorn. I decided to wait and see if maybe they just needed extra time due to all the orders, but after 20 minutes went by, I let one of the workers know I never got my popcorn. She told me she could only bring it to me when I showed her the receipt as proof that I bought it. I was having trouble pulling it up and I let her know, but she said that without proof of purchase she wasn't going to bring it because "they can't just give people free food." Uhm, first of all, anytime I've had an issue regarding food/drinks at any other movie theater, they have quickly resolved it. Secondly, if I was trying to get free food, it wouldn't be popcorn. After she saw that I couldn't pull up the receipt, she told me to pull up my bank statement and show her proof of purchase (WTF). I ended up finding the notification on my phone for the purchase to show her, and she finally went to get the popcorn. She asked me if I bought a large popcorn, but I said no it was a small, and she just told me to keep the large. Soooo what happened to the concern of giving away free food? Why couldn't I have just gotten the popcorn from the start without so much of a hassle? Definitely never coming back to this location ever again. read more

My husband and I chose here for a very rare movie date night. The seats definitely show their wear and tear, the pleather cracking and tearing. WE happened to catch them on a night when they had a very limited menu for some reason. We ordered burgers and fries and a milkshake, one of our few options. Milkshake was delicious! Burger was pretty good too, fries were MEH. I always finish my plate, even when food isn't great, cause let's face it I like to eat. But yuck - the fries were not worth it. I was really excited to bring my family to this theater because of the whole "dine in" concept and made sure none of us had dinner so that we could enjoy a meal and watch a movie. We were explained how to order through the QR codes and we sat down and started browsing the menu. After we decided on what order, we tried placing the order but it wouldn't go through. I went to ask if they could help and one of the workers told me they had "shut down the kitchen and were only serving popcorn and candy" I was really disappointed. I could have gone to any other theater near my house where popcorn and candy are A LOT cheaper but we drove the extra distance because we were looking forward to the dine in experience. It was a very awful experience and I am certain we will never visit this theater again. I purchased tickets for Spiderman No Way Home for December 23rd at 12:30pm for auditorium 10. I checked seating online this weekend and the auditorium had been changed without my knowledge. Meaning they canceled my tickets. I don't know why they changed auditoriums but I'm guessing someone bought out the theater or something and they changed the auditorium to 9 for the showtime I purchased my tickets for. If a customer purchases tickets for a showing, you're not supposed to change auditoriums randomly. I tried speaking to management twice. They haven't gotten back to me about my issue. Apparently, they have no idea what's going on but that makes no sense. I emailed the tickets and seats I purchased as proof as the manager asked me to do yet I haven't gotten a reply back. This was my first time at this location. I usually go to their Glendale location , and let me tell you Glendale has set the bar high for dine in theatres so i was definitely looking forward to the same experience. And Downey definitely disappointed me. The lobby and outside is very nice but the seats that we had chosen inside the theatre were dirty so we had to ask an employee to clean them for us. Glendale's location has heated and electric seats , huge comfy chairs , food is always amaaaazing. And i didn't get any of that at Downey , i would say this location is similar to any other typical Dine In. Nothing extravagant. And on top of that we waited 30 minutes for our food to come , at that point we couldn't wait any longer because the movie had started so i had to ask an employee to check on our food , and they finally brought it out 10 minutes later So yea never again. Really disappointing. I used to come here when it was studio movie grill, and it was the same concept which was dine in seats and it worked great. With this new company that took over it just was not successful, I expected the same service and food and it just isn't. I came to see a Sunday show at 5. Guess what... There is nothing available to eat. Everything is SOLD OUT. In my opinion this is completely ridiculous when the concept of your movie theater is a dinner /movie experience. . They literally only had popcorn soda and candy for sale. Not to mention if you don't have a phone with a qr scanner you can't get a menu.? This movie theater is a true hidden gem. The best part is that it's so cheap for ALL movies. I paid $24 as oppose to $60 at Rip-Off-Cinemark & AMC theaters, for 2 ADULT tickets to see the Coldplay Movie. Recliner seats, waitress service to your seats during the movie, online ordering from your phone while you're watching the movie. Like, what more can you want? I order the impossible burger sliders, which are vegetarian because I don't eat meat and I got to customize my tequila drinks through their phone ordering site. Then we waited about 7 minutes and a waitress brought our food and was super nice. The food and drinks overall were good and the drinks did the job. Parking is also FREE at the parking structure right behind the theater. I will definitely be coming back!!! read more

Great staff. Deliscious food. Chill ambiance. I had the Jalapeno Honey blt Chicken Sandwhich with sweet potatoe fries and I was really surprised at how scrumptious it tasted (because it is a theater, you know.) Then my friend had the Sweet Thai Chili wings, and she also loved them. Shoutout to the cooks in the back filling our bellies with these blessings. Beers are limited selection, but the blonde ales and mango carts are good enough. I'm happy this spot is open again, and I can't wait to come back! read more

I have fond memories of the Krikorian (the theater's previous branding), so I was looking forward to trying out the new Look theater. When entering, I thought it looked nice, but was surprised that there was no concession stand. Apparently everything is ordered from your seat using a QR code. While this is an OK/neat idea in theory, it fails in practice. First, you have waiters running around the theater during the movie blocking your view. Second, the waiters all had issues finding the right seat to deliver to (i.e. they were visibly confused every time I saw them). I was delivered someone else's food not once, but twice. Lastly, because you have to order on your phone, people constantly had their phone out during the movie, and in order to scan the QR code, you have to put your phone's flashlight on (a huge distraction). My last, and biggest issue with this theater was the movie screen itself. The screen was very dim, so much so that I had trouble watching the movie. It was like someone turned the brightness down, yet retained a high luminance (e.g. like on a TV if you lower the brightness but raise the backlight; yes movie screens are projected and have no backlight, but it was the same-looking effect). The end result was that all the detail in the picture was lost. Or if you're familiar with the term, the picture had "crushed blacks." I would've complained/got my money back, but I was there with two other people. On a positive note, the seats were nice, and I had no issues with the sound system. I definitely won't be coming back here. If you're in Downey, check out the Cinemark on Lakewood Blvd instead. read more
