TBH, I rly don't know why this restaurant had only three stars. They offer authentic Chinese dishes but also American style one. Both taste really good. I normally come here at least twice a week, I still remember before COVID you literally need to wait in line to be seated. I love their orange chicken and I will also order a authentic Chinese dish recommended by the owner to go with it. Never disappoint me here. This time the owner offered me this stinky tofu which completely surprised me. It got an special smell but when you eat it, the taste was just so addictive and you will want it again for sure. I come here way too much to be honest but I love the food here! My favorite is the oily bean curd hot pot and the yakitori style skewers! The skewers have cumin and other spices that I really enjoy and I think bring out the flavor in the meat. The oily bean curd is delightfully spicy without the burn and is great with a bowl of rice. So long, Longs Kitchen. I can't see myself coming here again. My stomach literally churns as I write this. My roommates and I came here tonight as an act of desperation and convenience as we were hungry and King Chops, our original choice was closed. Truth to be told, we should have known better as the restaurant was empty, but the hunger must have affected our judgement. Despite the empty restaurant, service was atrocious. We had to keep flagging the waitstaff down like they did not even see us, even though there were only two other tables. The menu is simple, but I went with the classic Taiwanese staple, beef noodle soup, figuring that should be a safe choice. Wrong. The soup was very oily and very spicy. I do have a high tolerance for spice but the oil was too much for me. You can actually see the glossiness of the soup! With the lack of service and overly greasy food, I doubt I will come here again. Apparently, this place has changed ownership three times in the past two years already, all being replaced by one mediocre restaurant after another. (I guess third time isn't a charm). I didn't even get a chance to eat the food. I sat down for sunday dinner at 6:23pm and the restaurant was relatively empty with only 4 other parties sitting down. Was told to sit at any table and waited for our menus or for any server to serve us. We waited until 6:35pm before getting up and leaving. Not a single employee paid attention to us or brought us our menus. What made it worse was that another group of guests who came in after us got served before we did. Located in a small plaza that's easy to overlook, Long's kitchen has some great 红烧牛肉面 （beef noodle soup). It's not spicy enough for me, but it's still very tasty. It's a good amount and even though I am normally left hungry after eating one dish, the beef noodle fills me up. If I'm going with a friend or two, we'll get the Hunan fried rice. It's super tasty! Other reviews mentioned the special pork dish with the serrano peppers. I love it! All in all, this place is very authentic. Even the just okay service is authentic. Personally, I don't mind the hands off approach to service, as long as they keep refilling the drinks. I have to say all the dishes taste great. My favorite is the huge bones with meat and bone marrow. They provided gloves so your hands would not get dirty.
