Really enjoyed our experience at Longhorn yesterday. We were seated right away at the two person booths by the bar. It was pretty quiet as we went around lunch time. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. We shared the stuffed mushrooms, so good and cheesy. I had the sirloin, cup of French Onion, and a raspberry Lemonade. Ended the mail with their caramel pecan cheesecake. I was full for the rest of the day. I'd go back. read more

Never again in a Friday night. While we expected a little delay in service, it was long. We didn't get here until about 8:20 ish. Once our food arrived, one plate's main dish was incorrect. I ordered a ribeye , which was basically a peppered steak. Why would I want my steak almost blackened with pepper. Now I know why they're never busy.There's never a weight. I have been here before, and it was only OK. What a disappointment that it has gone down from there. They call this a STEAKHOUSE and the steak was mediocre at best. I have ordered salmon in many places and never had a piece as greasy as this. The ribs tasted burnt and dry, and the barbecue sauce was awful. How do you screw up chopped steak... it is only hamburger? The salad was pretty good, but not any better than the salad that I get anywhere else. The dressing was subpar. The staff was friendly, but not the least bit attentive. I don't think anyone checked on us once the food was delivered and it took forever to get the check. I will never "choose" to go back there! So my wife and I had our 10 year wedding anniversary dinner at Longhorn. Our experience was perfect. So number 1. It's clean as heck. The staff do an amazing job. They have enough staff to perform the duties. It's great. The wait was not long. Loved it. 15 mins if that. Busy Saturday night. Also, the food was amazing. The steak was flavorful and the HOT. the baked potato I got was piping hot. It was incredible. The homemade iced tea was perfection. The waitress was so so sweet. Absolutely Awful Experience!! Our party of six had a terrible experience at the North Haven Longhorn. To start, our appetizers arrived before our drinks even made it to the table - a bad sign of things to come. The service was incredibly slow, and the staff were just plain rude. We waited almost two hours for our meals, and when they finally arrived, every single dish was cold. Also 2 of the 5 steaks were cooked very rare. We ended up just taking a bite or 2 of each meal and being done. It wasn't just us, either; we overheard other tables complaining about similar issues and long waits. The place was nearly empty as well so I'm not sure what the wait was all about. One of the servers were vacuuming the floor next to us while we were still at the table and they were still open. My time here was great! It was actually my first time coming to one of these and I loved everything about it. I was very full and had to take my meal to go but I definitely ate my left overs. It's for sure a place you come to when you're really hungry. The staff was super nice and cleaned up our table really well. They were also very attentive to our questions and needs. Longhorn has been going downhill for a while. Multiple times, I have gone there and have had to send food back to be cooked more. I've attached a photo of a "medium-well" steak AFTER having sent it back for being too bloody. The service has been slower lately too. The music is too loud, the steak isn't good anymore, and 80 dollars for 2 steaks and no drinks is frankly ridiculous. We had a gift card to use and considering we live in the Mecca of Italian food, we thought this was a better option than Olive Garden. We went on a Sunday afternoon and this place was bustling. We didn't have to wait which was good. Our server came over and took our drink order and brought us some bread. Longhorn has a very limited selection of appetizers so we didn't order one. We both got filet mignons cooked medium and I opted for mashed potatoes and broccoli with mine as well as 4 shrimp. Our filets were cooked perfectly! Broccoli was good but my mashed potatoes were so cold. Shrimp were tasty. Service was pretty good although forgot soda refill when asked. I'd give this place an ok rating but not something I would run back to if we didn't have a gift card. read more

I haven't had Longhorn in over 10 years. When I did have it I wasn't a fan. I decided to ttry them again a few days ago for a takeout order and I am so glad that I did ! From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I got my take out order brought to my car everything was seamless perfect. Greeted in a friendly matter and showed where in the bar area I will be taken care of for my take out order. I ordered, tipped and paid and went to sit in my car. Later the hostess came out knocked on my cat door and handed me my order. Everything was awesome. I ordered the firecracker shrimp, chicken appetizer and a burger with fries. Everything was perfect and even got a loaf of the bread they serve for the table. We visited Longhorns recently for lunch . They have a nice lunch menu and some of the dinner items as well . The prices are very reasonable for lunch I had the burger and it was delicious. My cousin had the Flo filet very good. The appetizer firecracker chicken was a huge hit sweet and spicy and our friend had the salad with chicken nice size . Highly recommend the quality is excellent the staff is amazing and the atmosphere is very clean and nice . They have lunch specials until 3 pm I believe. Everything about Longhorn steakhouse is awesome, even the comfortable decor.. especially in the lounge area where we watch TV sports,news etc. while we have a cocktail before our lunch or dinner. was treated to Longhorn steakhouse for my birthday on 8/31/25. the waitress was very pleasant. I ordered the salmon, when my food arrived it was not plated properly, the salmon was falling apart, there was grease on the plate and looked like the fish had moved, just pushed it back. It was messy, it was not appealing, the mashed potatoes were warm and the broccoli was watered down and had no flavor. I'm a fan of the Longhorn Steakhouse brand. I went to this location a couple times a few years ago. Back then, I said I wouldn't come back. Recently I went to one in Florida, at someone else's request and it was excellent. So when I came back to CT, a group of ppl wanted to go to Longhorn and I went since I had a great experience in Florida. Well this location is a far stretch from Florida. The service was just okay. Several people needed things at the table, and some had items missing from their meal. Idk if our server was new, over worked, or overwhelmed (table of 8). The food was just okay. The steak was the best part. It was cooked seasoned well. I mean it is a Steakhouse lol. Sides needed a lot of TLC. Appetizer this time was just okay. The food definitely wasn't at the quality of food I received in Orlando. I won't go back here on my own, but I am going to try another location in CT just to see if the subpar experience is a Connecticut thing, or just inherent to this location. read more

When you order some of there meal you get 2 side dishes the waitress said,So my friend ordered 2 and so did i,The meal took a good 45 mins till bread came to the table 2 mins later the meal with my chicken with herbs with mac cheese and side of asparagus arrived ,My friend order steak with potato and brussel spouts.Every thing was cold on my meal...and i mean cold i told the waitress which was hard to find ,and she took the meal to make better and i waited another 15 min.And when it arrive the chicken (same piece of chicken was reheat) was only a bit warm and the 2 side dish was just as bad ( The mac and cheese has so much salt it would and did give me a headache ).The manager came by and i told him and he said he would talk care of this.Well when the bill came they charged for my friend side order saying it was a premium side but when we first order the meals the waitress told us pick any 2 item from the menu nothing about extra charge, You could tell she was upset about me talking to the manager about the bad meal.For the price they charge for a meal..The food should be good but then for you that dont know Olive garden is the sister company of longhorns.I found out to late myself,As for this waitress that charge for the side order you will see the side order price taken out of your tip and next time.Spent more time with the tables you have customers with and bring bread to the table when the customer sits down not 45 mins later, NEVER AGAIN ! read more

Longhorn Steakhouse is definitely a notch above other chain steakhouses. We started with a nice warm loaf of wheat bread,and butter. Followed by a large salad that was nicely chilled. My wife ordered marinated steak tips with caramelized onions,and sautéed mushrooms. For her side, she chose the seasoned rice pilaf. I ordered the 14 ounce ribeye. My side was a sweet potato with cinnamon sugar and butter. Both meals were well seasoned, marinated,and cooked to perfection. Service is so so. They do everything rote. Why is this blue cheese-dressing with my salad? Waiter picked one for me , instead of asking my choice. Ambiance is same always. The food was just ok. I have been to Longhorn Steakhouse many times, it never disappoints. They always give you a fresh baked little loaf of wheat bread that has a nice texture and taste with a hint of honey. Tonight I started with the shrimp and lobster chowder, the chowder was thick and had the perfect taste of roasted corn and was loaded with shrimp, it was lacking lobster but did have a few pieces of the artificial "crab meat" but overall the soup had a nice taste. I then had the Wild West shrimp without the peppers, as an entree instead of an appetizer. The tender battered shrimp come with a seasoned ranch dipping sauce, that complimented the shrimp nicely, there were so many shrimp that I had to take half of them home. My boyfriend had the steak tips cooked medium rare, they were served with a marinade on them and were cooked to perfection, not tough and chewy but a nice texture. Had a really nice meal with my fiancé and her son. My fiancé had a really nice salad, her son (who only eats chicken, hamburger and fries) had the chicken nuggets and fries. I had the petite filet mignon, baked potatoe and Mexican street corn. All the food was very good. We went out to Celebrate all the October, November and December birthdays in our group of friends and we were given Justin as our waiter. Justin did a phenomenal job he was very patient and knowledgeable about the food. Recently ate here, the Ribeye steak I ordered was good.... Not amazing, not bad... good. That's fine at $26, I found the loaded potato to be lacking as it was overcooked and dryish. The Cesar salad was also good. Hence the three stars. The place was busy and the staff was very accommodating considering the traffic, it did take a while for my server to ask about refills, but I believe she would have been there sooner if she could have been. Ok so Longhorn is probably the biggest chain-restaurant surprise foodie experience I've ever had. I don't do these type of restaurants. (Ok well except for Red Robin bc their Banzai veggie burger option is awesome!) Ok so I repeat I usually do not do these family style chain restaurants.... And I usually can't tell the difference between them ( I thought Longhorn and Outback were the same restaurant). Anywho after two visits, I have to admit the food and alcoholic beverages here are good. That honey wheat bread and the Strawberry & Pecan salad are delish! The bread is so addictive! And I can't believe they actually have good veggie options at a steakhouse. The white cheddar stuffed mushrooms are a delight and they have good veggie sides that I order to create a solid meal. Although I can't speak to it, my honey loves the steak. The prices are reasonable, service is always good and the servings are plentiful. Who knew?!! read more
