We ordered carryout last night for my wife and I's anniversary. Splurged a little and ordered the T-Bone Steak. Very tasty, worth the upgrade from the Sirloin (which is also phenomenal). Some of the best Baked Potatoes in the restaurant game. Great food overall. The curbside service worker was working her first night at carryout, and she was hustling. I also love their Texas Tonion appetizer, and their strawberry pecan salad is also a favorite of mine. It's a solid place for a steak dinner, though Texas Roadhouse is still my personal favorite. Had a party of 2 and we both ordered the 9oz Flo's filet. I ordered med rare and she ordered medium ( I know but after this experience she says she's going med rare in the future) Anyway, mine came out perfect! Hers however came out very flat and did not resemble a filet in the least bit. Even our waitress was confused so SHE went and got the manager. The manager advised the cook had "pressed" hers so it came out that way because it makes the steaks come out at the same time. The manager said "next time order it non-pressed". Her steak was awful and completely dried out. I'm no cook but I would think you should never "press" a Filet. I have since researched and that is in fact correct. A Filet should never be pressed. It appears the cook was cutting some corners. It should also be noted that we were in the restaurant at around 2:30 and were not busy at all. read more

To say the least I was meat drunk. Hands down this place is the only place that I will ever go to get a steak. I've been to some really good longhorns.. this one.. was below average. The bathrooms were dirty. They didn't have any baked potatoes. They got all of our orders wrong but it took a while to get out so we just ate it. My New York strip was kind of poor quality and overcooked. The outlaw ribeyes we got were also overcooked. The sides we got were cold. The bread we got was also cold when it "just got out the oven". The burger we got was probably the best thing we got. Every time, the waitress would check in and order your drinks, bring you drinks and take your orders, bring your food, check in with you and bring your check, and then you wouldn't see her again. They need to adjust CO2 a little more , I had to ask for bread, I had to ask for my refills on drinks. I wish I was able to review the service and food but we barely made it through the front doors. Our group started to arrive around 5:10pm on a Tuesday evening for a late Mother's Day dinner. As we attempted to get a table we were told that we had to wait until a server was available before we could be seated. There were many unoccupied tables throughout the restaurant. Our group of 7 continued to wait in the waiting area for a table. We checked in once again with the hostess to see when we could be seated. She reluctantly took a break from her Facebook scrolling to inform us that a server would arrive at 5:30pm and then we could then be seated. Wait. Huh? We have to wait for someone to come to work before we could even be seated? We waited for a few more moments as we watched smaller groups come in and be seated immediately. I can't imagine that they couldn't have at least seated us and got some drinks started. After a few more clients were seated as we stood watching we decided to leave. I don't believe the hostess even lifted her head as we went out the door. We were graciously welcomed at Red Lobster (review to follow) right down the road. Our bill at Red Lobster was $350. Had not been to this steakhouse in awhile so decided to take my son here for lunch. They aren't busy at lunch so no problem being seated in a booth. I ordered the Outlaw ribeye, have tried a couple other steaks there and the Outlaw is the absolute best they have. It's perfectly grilled, juicy and just delish! My son had a sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and soup. Both steaks were cooked as ordered. I did not order today but my husband and I usually order the firecracker chicken appetizer, it is soooo good! It has an avocado dip to go with it and a bit sprinkled on the dish with diced tomatoes on a bed of lettuce. Def order if you have not tried it! read more

The waits here seem like they are always longer than what they say it is. The first time we came here we were told it was a 20 minute wait... we ended up waiting an hour. We gave our beeper to another couple and left. This time, we were told it was a 10 minute wait. It ended up being around a 20 minute wait. I feel as though Longhorn is one of the only restaurants in Bloomington that misjudges their timing for seating. We only ate here because we had a gift card. We prefer to eat local. We weren't ever hungry. We ordered onion chips, broccoli cheddar soup, and dessert. The gave us the whimpiest piece of bread that my boyfriend laughed when they brought it out. The onion chips were too salty for me but my boyfriend loved them and the sauce it comes with. Longhorn doesn't have much for me since I'm not a steak fan, but the soup is good. I had a 12 oz Ribeye steak (don't tell my cardiologist) and a properly made Caesar salad. The steak was really good and cooked to medium-rare. I did not get any steak sauce and didn't need it. I had talked up the place because I used to eat at Longhorn in Branson and the food there was good, but that was years ago. I had a burger, the burger was ok but very salty, so were the fries. I had a pricey beer and the beer I got had zero foam on it and no flavor, I think they gave me nonalcoholic beer and charged me full price. My friend said the lower parts of the asparagus were too tough to eat, the potatoes tasted like plastic, and the steak was nothing you want to eat again. Longhorn Steakhouse is pretty much the only restaurant in existence that can serve you cheese melted in a skillet and you're happy to pay for it. Seriously, that skillet queso appetizer appears to me more in my dreams than I'd like to admit. I avoided Longhorn for a long time because I was listening to a lot of what other people were saying about the place. On a whim, though, I came out with a friend of mine and I'm really glad I did. Each time I've come to Longhorn the wait wasn't unbearable. Like many others have said here, Longhorn tends to overestimate their wait and you always get seated well before the time you're given. The service staff are friendly and very attentive. What's more is that they seem very knowledgeable about the restaurant and genuinely happy to be there. I'm a big fan of ribs and that's exactly what I get each time I come. The ribs are meaty and cooked perfectly. I've had my fair share of overcooked ribs (*COUGH* BJ'S *COUGH*) and Longhorn knows their stuff. Plus, bubbah loves him some BBQ! My wife is a steak fanatic and really enjoys the cuts from Longhorn. Pair this with their selection of beer and you've got the workings for a fine date night. We were seated within 10 minutes of arriving as the hostess stated. Our server, Gabby, was excellent throughout the evening and made what was otherwise a bad experience tolerable. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they arrived promptly. Gabby did give us a fun fact about this dish (they take 1 min and 30 seconds to cook) which in hindsight foretold what was to come. The flavor was good, but they were not cook through. My date had been there many times in the past and loved this dish, so she was disappointed at this. When we asked Gabby to take them back, she told us that this had been an issue brought up by others, and that she was told they would not soften up if they were cooked longer. If you have ever cooked Brussels sprouts, you'd curl your eyebrow up as we both did, because they do. I ordered the steak (medium well, warm and pink center, per Gabby) and shrimp. I got a sweet potato and side salad as sides as well. The shrimp and potato were excellent, but the salad was swimming in dressing keeping me from finishing it. I should've ordered the dressing on the side as I normally do. The steak had great flavor, but after two slices in, I found that only the outside 1/8" cooked and the rest of the steak was basically raw. I briefly considered sending it back, but quickly remembered the thought process on the sprouts and decided against it. Really worth it! We had trouble finding a table as we booked a table late for my sister's graduation. After Malibu Grill pushed our reservation from 9pm to 10pm (I suspect because they had overbooked the restaurant and when we asked why it had been moved they were very defensive and rude about it but that's a story for another time) we decided to give Longhorns a go instead as it was getting late and we were really getting hungry. The service was extremely nice and gave us a table straight away without a problem. She first gave us a table that was great for 5 people but when we asked if we could move to a bigger one it wasn't a problem. Ordering the food was really easy and it didn't take too long to arrive either. Myself and my dad had the NY strip, and my sister and mom had the Fillet with parmesan topping. I also got the Mac and Cheese side which was the best side in my opinion. Everything was impeccable! The decor is also great and makes for a nice southern vibe that works great with the food! The only complaint I have is that the staff started cleaning the floors around us as we were finishing our food. We arrived at 9pm so I understand that by the time this was happening it was getting late and they wanted to prepare the restaurant for closing but it just gave us the feeling that we should leave the restaurant because the staff wanted to go home. It really did leave a bad after-taste as we ordered the bill. However, our waitress was so lovely and kind that it wasn't that bad in the end. (I'm sorry but I forgot her name!) We went to Longhorn for a casual evening dinner with average service, but didn't expect the incredible service we received from the waiter, Tim. Tim was attentive to our needs, knew the menu inside and out, and visited our table countless times to refill our drinks and remove plates we didn't need. He, in fact, refilled my iced tea 4 times, despite me barely being finished with it each time, which I thought was above and beyond. The food was delicious and prompt as well. Went for lunch on a Monday and I really enjoyed it. Many of the other reviews have complaints about the service, but our servers were prompt and attentive. The restaurant wasn't too busy, so maybe that contributed to better service. The restaurant lighting was a little too dark, but the food and value were great. My Napa Chicken was very tasty, I enjoyed it quite a bit. My daughter's Steak Cheddar Melt was a bit on the greasy side. She complained about it and I could obviously see it dripping from her fingers. The dessert was very tasty. We shared it and we both enjoyed it.
