Horrible customer service. Nearly every single associate had a condescending and cold attitude which made us immediately leave. I have never experienced this level of horrific service that was so blatantly dismissive of us and our questions. A rather unpleasant shopping experience at Longchamp/Boston. Sales associate (assistant manager) seemed bothered that I was shopping and had various questions. I ended up buying the bag as it was a necessity. This is one of the smallest/unpleasant Longchamp stores that I have ever visited. The service here is mediocre, the staff absolutely do not care about their customers. I have visited a couple times and was turned off by the snotty staff. There is a manager at this store that is not friendly at all who needs a major attitude adjustment. Kai, one of their store associates, was super nice on the phone and quickly found the bag that I was looking for. Kai greeted me the minute I walked into the store. I brought a super scuffed-up Longchamp bag that has bravely weathered hundreds of undergrad/grad school experiences with me to this store for repairs. The staff were super friendly, helpful, and answered all my questions about the repair process. They greeted me right away when I came to drop off the bag, and when I came to pick it up. I was told that the bag would be ready for pick-up in 4-6 weeks, but it came back within 2 weeks! The bag looked great, and all of the flaws that could be repaired were fixed :) In terms of repair prices, Longchamp fixes the corners of the bag for free, and charges $30 for a replacement zipper. The cashier told me that they try to fix the zipper first prior to replacing it, and if they succeed without the replacement, then the repair is free of charge. They don't clean the bag, but the sales person who took my order gave me some suggestions based on her experiences with customers. The store itself is also very clean, organized, and seems to have a large collection of Longchamp bags. Really recommend! read more

Longchamps are great for every day use, even the small ones carry a load. This store has millions of colors and styles compared to the selections at department stores that tend to be much more limited. I love how you can fold them away with the snap button. They're very reasonably priced albeit the materials feel like the tarp covering your perennials in the winter. If you like Longchamp, I'd go for a more updated version that's pretty big on college campuses for toting books around - Herve Chapelier. They're priced around the same and come in the same myriad of colors but the look isn't all dark leather and gold buttons. I always get compliments on my pink one that I got in Paris which for some reason, hasn't been released in the states yet. read more

I dropped my bag to repair the zipper and said it's unrepairable due to the lining. I am fine with that if they can't fix it.When I picked my bag, found there was a tear inside. I asked to the sales person how it happened and they don't know. They gave me a number of customer service to call and may be they were able to help. But not helpful at all. I bought many bags there. I just bought a bag at Longchamp UAE, had been eyeing it for months, never bought a Longchamp before, so was super excited. The day after I got the bag my sister brought me the same bag the next day, she was visiting from abroad. So I thought I would return the bag as the receipt says you can return it within 30 days and it had been 4 days. When I went to return the refused to process a return, instead I got a credit note just for Longchamp UAE for 3 months, not even for 6 months or a year. I was so angry because the receipt says return -and what kind of international brand is this that you can't get a refund at least within 7 days for something that's untouched!! I had a great experience yesterday when I headed to the Newbury St. Longchamp shop yesterday. I entered the shop with specifics of what I was looking for, and was not there to browse. In that regard, the two staff ladies were friendly and efficient, knew their stock well, and were able to direct me quickly to what I needed: a compact/slim wallet in my signature royal blue, with cash storage that can manage taller-profile Euro currencies and longer US currency, interior space for only a few credit cards, and coin storage on the outside. When someday we can resume European travel, I prefer the exterior coin storage for Paris Metro tickets and coins that doesn't give away what's interior! Just what I needed. read more

I am giving Longchamp 4 stars purely based on my experience in the store. I am not a fan of the Longchamp bags. They look too much like something I would buy at LL Bean. If I am paying a hefty price for a bag (which I have been known more than 100 times to do) I want a better quality and look. Some people love these bags, Friendsay, my travel companion for the weekend, has a Longchamp bag and loves hers. It's just all about different opinions I guess. The staff were very friendly, pointing out how the store is situated and helping us without being pushy. If Longchamp is your thing then by all means, make sure you come into this one. I have found that you get your moneys worth with a Longchamp handbag or tote. They are durable and the leather handles and straps are guaranteed for life. I like this kind of guarantee. The store itself is nice. Everything is laid out for you to really get a good sense of size and usability. The store carries the best selection of colors and sizes. I bought a large tote here only a year ago under the condition that, if need be, it would be repaired from general wear and tear (I usually don't buy expensive bags like these otherwise.) Long story short, my bag began to have minor holes in the bottom corners so I sent it back to the store for the maintenance that came with the warranty. I got it back weeks later only to notice that it looked significantly smaller, as if they had just tucked the edges in. It wasn't even symmetrical. I could no longer fit my laptop and books that it used to carry without issue--my main use for the bag. I called and told a few store managers who only shrugged me off and said it wasn't their problem. They finally reluctantly took it back to send out once more, without even a slight guarantee that anything would be altered for the better. If I had known something like this would happen after being promised something entirely different, I never would have purchased this tote. I'm not usually a high maintenance customer, but I am seriously disappointed that my bag arrived in a worse state than I dropped it off in--making it essentially unusable. If you can't fix it, just say it upfront. read more

What a lovely store! I went here for the first time last week and I fell in love! I felt like a little girl in her favorite dress shop! The staff was so friendly and very welcoming! I ended up buying one of their leather 3D bags and a le pliage to go with it! The lady helping me said that the le pliage would act as a rain coat for the leather bag! When I got into a high end store and am prepared to drop $400 on a bag (for my gf) I expect some level of service. Nothing special - just a "hello, how can I help you." The service here is awful. It's like they are doing you a favour. Nobody came up to help me. I almost had to jump up and down to get any attention. Frankly, if it had not been raining I would have gone somewhere else that appreciated my business a bit more. Even when buying the bag, the people were glum, unsmiling and generally unhelpful. I ended up getting the wrong bag - so my gf ordered a bag online and was told the store would call her when it was there. They never called! Heck..when I go to Gamestop people are more helpful. So they get one star - this is not reflection on their products which are great. They need to clean this store out and hire new people who care about their customers. read more

The most horrible experience. The customer service is exceptionally bad. I made a purchase at the Boston, Newbury street store 2 weeks back for a bag being shipped to me directly from another location. I was told that i will receive tracking information via email ( which i did not receive ) - I called the customer executive after 1.5 weeks and was told that the bag was shipped and she would call me back shortly to provide a tracking number ( I never received a call). I then call the next day and asked another customer executive, who refused to give any information including her name and said the person dealing with me will call me on the following Monday and cuts the call. I then call Longchamp USA, who of course don't answer. I requested the executive instore to process the refund, which she said can't be processed anymore and that i will not get any information for at least 2 more days. This is the MOST HORRIBLE experience I've had with any store. read more

3 stars are for this particular store, not the Longchamp brand. I LOVE my Longchamp bag, but every time I've come into this store I feel like I get the cold shoulder. Rarely does an associate ask if I need help, even when the store is nearly empty and there are 3 of them hanging out at the counter. As far as the "people are trying to make a living" comment on another review, people can make a living, just do it in a profession more suited to your skills! If someone is shopping in your store, a sales associate should greet them and ask if they need assistance (especially if it's not busy!!). I have not been to another standalone Longchamp store so I assume that the attitude is the result of being on "Newbury Street". I am a little sick of that attitude but I ended up getting my Longchamp bag here because the selection is better here than it was at department stores. read more

The whole reason I even got a Yelp account was to write this review. I was so, so, SO excited to go to Longchamp and finally get one of their gorgeous bags but the experience was borderline awful. First, when I walked in I was not greeted at all.. but I didn't let that get me down! I was definitely still too excited. I couldn't decide on a color and I hinted at needing help to the saleswoman who stood behind the counter with her arms folded. I asked a few questions and she answered them without turning her gaze from her blank stare at the counter. I finally decided on a bag and when it came time to check out she didn't make any sort of conversation or even smile. Please be aware that if you purchase an item on sale at this store, it is a Final Sale. Unlike other stores that make great customer service a priority and who make an effort to inform a customer that something is a Final Sale (either with signage or a verbal reminder or a special stamp on the receipt) they don't. Their approach is to require the customer to read the fine print on the sales receipt AFTER the purchase. So if you're in the store and you see a sign that says "SALE" know that what it really means is "FINAL SALE." And know that they are inflexible and unconcerned about the customer experience. I have bought several bags from the Boston store. All had been fine and any issues handled without hesitation. I have an older Longchamp bag that was flaking in some spots. I brought it info advice and help. I was told nothing can be done. Not what I expected to hear. I took my bag home and touched it up with shoe polish and some lanolin I have from Coach.
