Came in on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the back sitting area. It's definitely family friendly--there is even a half pipe with kids playing and enjoying themselves. At the same time, it wasn't distracting or annoying for adults to catch up over lunch and drinks. They have good mixed drinks, beers on tap, and an extensive wine list. Well I have to say the Long Branch saloon has been a long time coming for me, and I'm glad I finally did. I will admit I just had a burger with green chilies, some fries, and she had a salad with some chicken on it. We were both very happy. Now first let's take a look at this location period way out in the sticks and Creston is a nice place to go for a drive out of atascadero. Walking into the patio, eating area, whatever you want to call it, we were instantly transferred the places we remembered in Austin Texas. That was pretty fun . Now the girls who wait on you are the nicest friendliest attentive help you could ever ask for. Wasn't sure what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised! Didn't make a reservation (you should) so we had to scramble for a table which took a rather long time but they were very gracious and generous due to our hassle. The venue is large and super fun with a great sound system. Monte Mills was great! Even better was the food. For a very small menu, the quality was top notch. My husband and I were with my mother in law looking for properties in the Creston area and we found this lunch spot and we were MORE than pleased. It was so good and the service was awesome! The Long Branch reopened with new owners and what a delight they are. LB is an incredible place for the family with an outdoor area for the kids. Drive slowly, it's easy to miss from the highway, once in, you'll be greeted by Brian or Christine, locals and the owners, who offer a very tasty cuisine you'll enjoy. Recently purchased by a local entrepreneur, it's a fun and very funky place to dine. The Longbranch Saloon looks like it's been in Creston for at least 100 years and not much has changed in the "old cowboy hangout" except the food which is really casual and delicious. It's not a regular stop for us but when we do decide to go here to eat we are always happy we did. There is some really serious authentic charm in this establishment. Don't change out of your jeans and tea shirt to eat here though, it's clean but funky!. read more

We tried this place out on Saturday night and loved it! The food is fantastic, the ambience is about as small town "country" as you can get, and I thoroughly enjoyed the patio/backyard area. It really felt like we were eating in a friends backyard, and it is so lovely to have a family place nearby that feels so comfortable. The wait staff was super friendly, too. We had not one, but two orders of the fried pickles, and even if I never ordered a single other thing - that alone would bring me back. They are that good! My husband had the jalapeño burger, I had the green chile, our son had the regular burger and my daughter had the kids' sliders (she says they were the best!). All of us really enjoyed ourselves. The green chili's were good with an occasional warm flavor. The place was quit busy for one hour before closing. If you liked the ambience of the old saloon it's still there. read more

It's amazing to me that a place like this even exists in such a liberal world that we live in today. The Longbranch is such a breath of fresh air! The people (and I mean both customers and staff) are really what makes this such a great little hole-in-the- wall "dive bar" in the middle of no where. The food is amazing, the cocktails are fabulous and to see kids running around and parents enjoying a great sunny day... that is the icing on the cake. It makes me happy. It is refreshing to see people enjoying life and actually not afraid to live life the way it is meant to be lived....face to face and not hiding behind masks afraid of the great pumpkin....their shadow....a virus....what is it again that were supposed to be afraid of........? Best Prime Rib ever. I loved our server, she was great. She took good care of us while not hovering. I wish I could remember her name. My Dad loves to travel the back roads so I figured this would be a perfect place to take him. A nice ride in the country and to end with a great meal. Now back to dinner. We both ordered the large cut because I wanted some to take home. I had the clam chowder and Dad had the salad. Their chowder was better than most seafood restaurants. Dad's salad was loaded. Their steak fries were delicious. They made sour dough bread which tasted like San Luis Sourdough. I can say everything there was so good. This is probably my favorite burger place. I don't usually see the need to go out for a burger but the Longbranch Saloon kitchen sure know how to serve it cooked to perfection. Stopped in at the Longbranch Saloon for lunch today. Apparently the specials change daily and we had a couple that were delicious. I had the Posole and it was the best I've had anywhere! Fresh, bright, and spicy. My friend had the beet salad, which had red and gold roasted beets, spring mix topped with goat cheese and nuts. Very good as well. Next we split the Green Chili Burger..cooked perfectly, fresh made roasted chili on brioche bun served with crispy fries. Great choice of beers as well as wines. I had a glass of Mojo and Jeri had a glass of Blanche. Highly recommend this spot. Family friendly great outside space as well. Will return soon for dinner! read more

On November 8th. Sunday around noon. My wife and I met a 70 year old friend of ours. He arrived a few minutes before noon. Anyway. My wife and I arrived we were chatting. 1st of all. Only saw one person a younger male wearing a mask. Apparently he was the first to help our friend. He has hearing issues and had a hard time understanding him. Our friend asked if he had covid because of his mask. Apparently the boy was offended enough too say something too the manager. Ok! So my wife and I show up about noon. Sat down with our friend. We order drinks. Our friend had told us what had happened. While we were talking. The manager came too our table. Very unprofessional. At a very high ignorant rant towards us all at the table. Almost yelling about harassing her employee and patrons! Never once asked anything. Just went off like a crazy person. When our friend had told her he didn't harass anyone. She is walking away yelling the hell you didn't. And said we would be asked to leave if it happened again!! Lol! What,Ok. I have gone to this place for years and no issues. But not after that, never again. I left a message on the phone for the owner. No reply. So anyway we did leave. And got too listen too them inside the door clapping and laughing. Who would have imagined? Off a remote highway east of Hwy 101 in Creston, CA. Cowboy bar through and through, but then comes the food and beverage. And EXcellent service. And all on a pretty patio. Wonderful everything - don't miss the fried pickles. Artichokes, burgers, fish tacos, grilled hearts of romaine Caesar salad - everyone in our large group of 9 was more than happy. We've been to the Longbranch Saloon twice now, appetizers on the first visit, burgers this last time. Each time we've been, the food has been outstanding. The staff have smiles, the Bar manager greeted us as we came in, and made sure we were happy with what we got. He was floating around, checking on people, serving food, being very polite and professional. All the staff are terrific, even bagging ice to put a cold order on top of, to go. I've been on a burger hunt for the last year, for my wife and I, we now have had the best. Juicy, hint of pink, a bun that doesn't fall apart, this is the best within 30miles of Paso Robles. I've had some pretty good ones, but trying them a second time only to be disappointed. They take pride in the food served, and it shows!!! read more
