Smoked brisket nachos - I'm dreaming of you. More bbq on the weekends, ya'll. They do run out. It's serious. Get there!
Kellie C.

Oh wow, what a find! Not far off the 101, this authentic and historic roadhouse was a delightful spot for lunch and beer. We shared the smoked brisket nachos and a couple of cold drafts. The nachos were crisp with a generous portion of delicious smoked brisket. They had a cheese sauce that would make a French saucier proud, super fresh guacamole and a scattering of black beans. Crisp and perfectly covered to the last bite of this stack of heaven. Our compliments to the kitchen! Our server was so welcoming and took great care of us. The outside patio is huge and hosts bands March - December. Longbranch in Historic Creston, we'll be back to try more of your menu items and enjoy your patio on a warmer day.

Half of the smoked pork Cubano

When we first arrived, it seemed to be a tiny hole in the wall restaurant. Then once we got in there and found a large and nice outdoor seating area, very relaxing and comfortable. The food and beer are delicious. It's a nice stop on the way to the Carrizo national preserve.

Short rib, burger special recommended by Kristy. Totally amazing and out of this world.

My buddy and I decided we wanted a good burger, so he suggested this place and it was out of this world. Came in here for lunch yesterday and we're welcomed right off the bat from a nice lady named Kristy. Very pleasant, served us two beers that she recommended and they were very tasty. She even recommended the lunch special, best burger I've had in a while. It was a beef patty with short ribs. Very fresh and cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was very nostalgic. Then we met Megan, another server. She's the one that brought us our food. She gave us some amazing sauce to go with our burger, had a little kick to it, which I really enjoyed. Most of all, the staff was amazing. They definitely have my business. Wish I lived closer, I would definitely eat her every day and enjoy a nice cold beer in that 85° weather, lol. Thank you staff for making my visit. Amazing!

Super busy when I got here so I had to wait a bit for my food but nonetheless the food was fantastic! Had some chips and salsa to starts and the salsa was amazing! For my entree I had the short rib burger which was very tasty! My server was Kristy and she was very friendly and helpful when recommending items from the menu. I will definitely return when I come visit the area again. They also have a house cat that hangs out outside and he joined me for my dinner. His name is Obie.

This place has suchhhh great food. EXCEPT for the pretzel I would just skip it tastes like you microwaved a frozen pretzel. Other than that really good food options. This is a great place to hangout and vibe and have some drinks. I love how it feels western and small town. All we needed was some live music! Overall a really cool spot and I recommend trying it out if you are nearby!

Creston is a small country town that is a perfect spot for locals, and a great pit stop for folks out wine tasting. Don't let the saloon part of the name fool ya, because this is a fully operational restaurant. Plenty of seating for couples or large groups with the option of indoor or outdoor, the Longbranch offers a menu of items for any taste. Salads, burgers, sandwiches, and bites are sure to be on someone's craving list. I ordered the Short Rib Burger and had not had a burger like this in a long time. I requested it be cooked medium, and did not expect the juicy, flavor-bomb I got with my first bite. Lettuce, Tomato, and dill chips accompany it, with french fries. Little sides of burger sauce and ketchup are provided as well. Be sure to enter through the front to have the host/ess seat you. They'll take good care of you. I look forward to revisiting and trying more of their offerings.

Located in the small town of Creston, near the General Store and Loading Chute, is Longbranch Saloon. When we arrived, we saw a sign that pointed us to the entrance outside, off to the left. You're lead to a Beer Garden, with a lot of seating, heaters, tents and even a stage for events. They sat us near a heater, since we had our daughter and it was cold out. The liquor menu is one of the largest I've ever seen. I ordered the Almost Fried Pickles. Those were awesome. The breading was evenly coated, salty, crunchy, with briny pickle in the middle. It was served with a house ranch that had some tang and creamy pepper, great mixed. Next, Creston Burger, subbed chicken breast for burger, added fried egg and avocado. The dynamics for the fresh, fluffy brioche bun, salty, crunchy onion strings, very juicy, white meat chicken breast, Jack cheese adding fat, fresh tomato, lettuce, and pickles. Then add the fried egg and avocado for creamy fat and homemade sauce and bbq sauce adding zing and creaminess making for one complete burger. The fries served with it were perfectly done. Salty, warm, crunchy, yet soft in the middle. Perfect. To end it all, Crème Brûlée Cheesecake! This cheese cake was truly one of the best I've had. Warm, yes, warm. The top, signature, crème brûlée candied top. The cheese cake was creamy, great depth of vanilla/crème brûlée cheesecake flavor. Shockingly Great! We have to bring my parents. *Wish I could make it 4.5/5, reason 4/5.*

Snuggled in the trees of Creston, we found this establishment. It has a classic rustic western environment. It was welcoming and inviting. Service was fast and prompt, and food came out fast. The drinks were cold. I wasn't a fan of the fried pickles, too salty, but the sausage platter was good. I ordered the Creston burger, delicious! If you want decent burger, beer, or appetizer, Stop in and enjoy!

Ask the Community - Longbranch Saloon

Are dogs allowed in the outside dining area?

Absolutely. We've taken our Aussie there, and have seen many other dogs there!

Is there parking that will accommodate an RV?

The actual restaurant lot is small - however across the street is a much larger area. Since this location is "rural" you will have options to park your bigger vehicle.

I would like to try this place, but I am wondering if I can find something on the menu which will comply with my food allergies. Is the chef friendly and open to special requests or modifications of any menu items?

They are very friendly at Fast Cat Coffee Bar! They would appreciate you asking!

What is their phone number?

Every time we have to gather up our own dirty plates and stack them. Just get them out of the way because otherwise they likely would not ever be picked up. The dinner servers are always very busy and they heather to be short 1 or 2 for normal service. We didn't recognize any of the servers or the hostess from our other recent visits here. Sadly, the prime rib my daughter always was so tough she couldn't cut into it. This has never happened before answer were shocked and she asked for it up he just taken away. Strangely the full rack of baby back ribs were also like eating dry jerky tonight and it was awful. They were really difficult to chew like eating dried out thick pork chops. Again we've never before experienced this. Very disappointing. We had already ordered a second rack of ribs meal to go for tomorrow so we are hoping that one is better. The meat in both was like from a different cheap supplier. If we experience this again next time we will stop coming out and it's my favorite place so I hope food improves. Additionally I ordered a cup of clam chowder. It was really thick this time like thick wallpaper paste. Nothing like the normal chowder. I should have sent it back too. The salads were great as usual but mine was misting the red onion rings but the others in our group had them. We had our usual grasshopper pie to share as the little grandsons wanted it. The crust is always too thick (1/2") and very hard so I don't even eat it. It takes one of the steak knives to get thru that crust. But the ice cream on it is always good and refreshing Service needs improvement. Food needs improvement. Hire more staff they are working like crazy and it's still mediocre service. We want this to be our go--to BBQ restaurant. Our bill was $208. We come about once a month and really enjoy coming but we've had a lot of frustrations

Maybe it is because we are watching "Yellowstone" on TV, but I was craving the flavor of the Old West, which can still be found in many places around SLO. We returned to Pig Iron Restaurant in Templeton, where we had dined about three years ago when they very first opened up! it was kind of bare and spacious our first time there. It was great to see how they have added to the space and now have room for multiple functions! There's a huge outdoor dining patio with a coffee pick up bar. There's a an indoor dining area where you order your food at a counter. There's also the Club Car Bar with its own separate room. I remembered that Pig Iron sando was good. My husband ordered the Pig Iron. I went for two smoked chicken, Cowboy Tacos, and our friend got a burger. We topped it all off with onion rings. It's the kind of place that you order at a counter in the Merchandise room, then take a buzzer to your table. We commandeered a large booth in the fairly small dining room. It has maybe eight or 10 tables. There is are a couple lounge chairs by the fireplace, which is very cozy on a cool day. By the time our food was ready, the dining room was full. That Pig Iron pulled pork sando is worth the trip! The meat is super tender, and the sauce is piquant and not too spicy. Topped with cole slaw, it is a perfect lunchtime meal. Burger was also nicely done kind of a smashed burger. The tacos were aptly named Cowboy Tacos, as I felt that they were gringo tacos. They were bland, since they didn't have sauce on them and the chicken was in tiny chunks and not shredded. The onion rings were crispy and fun to dunk in the Ranch dressing. We hunkered down cowboy style and enjoyed our meal, talking about about outer space and the moon trip while enjoying our food in the cozy ambience of an evocative historic setting!

We were sorry to see that location close down and extend our sympathies to Dallas (Owner) at having to close that location down (good help is so hard to find). Regardless, it won't keep us away from Brooks...cause the food is still "bangin". Yesterday's order was to go...we always ate "in" at the SLO location (just a "nicer ambiance") but always "take out" from Pismo (not thrilled with the fact that there is an added "take out fee" for this on your bill). Jaxon was our Order/Cashier associate on this occasion. He was personable in service and knowledgeable with regard to menu offerings. The restaurant wasn't as busy as I expected at 7PM but it took "a bit" to get the order out. Nevertheless..it was "on the money accurate" (exactly what we ordered/wanted) and that in my opinion...is worth waiting for. Our order : 2X Black and Blue Salads (4/5...yummy) and a Crispy Chicken Combo with Tater Tots (5/5...delicious). I had a "Combo Coupon" ($10 Combo instead of regular price), but still the bill was basically $43 dollars. Somewhat of a "value factor" because with a salad each, we were able to share the Crispy Chicken and were completely satisfied with our meal. Dallas (Owner) was already gone for the day, so we missed saying "hi". In this Yelper's opinion...on this "take-out" occasion because the food is still really "bussin", Brooks Burgers in Pismo Beach truly earned this 4 Star review.
