Haven't been to a Long John Silvers in decades, but I was craving fried cod with tartar sauce. I ordered a #10 fish and shrimp plate with cocktail sauce and Tartar sauce. The fish and shrimp were good and the two hush puppies were wonderful, but the tartar sauce and Cocktail sauce were horrible! read more

This is one of my regular stops when I'm on this side of town and the food is always good. But today was one of those days where you take that first bite of fish and it just melts in your mouth and you can tell it was freshly prepared l. Good job everyone. read more

I had never eaten at a LJS before and was hesitant, but decided I had to give it a go before I gave it a hard time. I'm glad I did. I got a free basket by signing up for an account in their app. I got the fried fish basket and ordered a chicken wrap on top of that. It was all super good. I had never had hush puppies before and those were pretty good. The fries were nice and crispy. The fish was delicious, and the chicken was good as well. Overall I really enjoyed the meal. I am crazy about fish and chips and my meal at LJS did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. read more

Server was very helpful. We shared fish and chips. Food was just so so. I did like the Cole slaw.

Ordered a # 11 Fish was like jerky Fries were cold Coleslaw was slimy Shrimp were cold and soggy Pain almost $19 for junk Only thing that was good were the hush puppies and chicken Beware. Very disappointing Caution!!!!!!!! Not worth the money read more

The food here isn't the best and it might be rated even lower if it wasn't for the fact that many years ago I had great memories here and used to think they were delicious. The food and the theme used to be a perfect 9 or 10 out of 10. But in the state it's in today I would have to say it's only a 3 or a 4 which is sad because I want to like it but I just can't and I find that really sad when I remember how good it used to be. read more

Very bad customer service. This will be the last time we come here. This woman never smiles, never says thank you, very rude all the time. She acts like she is paying for our food! Food is good but not good enough to overlook bad customer service! read more

The grilled shrimp and fish tacos at this location just seems to be fresher and hotter than other locations. I don't mind traveling to the next city if that means I get to have a guaranteed hot meal with great service and let me tell you how much better food tastes when you get good service before you get your meal. Forgive me for not knowing everyone's name but whoever is cooking right now is making the grilled shrimp to order and it is fabulous. I was assisted by front end staff whom I believe was Andres Stephanie, both were tremendously helpful and were able to describe the items I had questions about that I had no choice but to order. A pet peeve of mine is asking a staff member about an item and I hear "well I haven't tried it but I hear it's good". These folks here you can tell they are recommending based on personal experience and they weren't lying. Grilled shrimp was amazing! Great Job Visalia Long John Silvers on Mooney blvd . The bell shall be wrung proudly upon my exit!! P.s I normally add photo of the food but all I have for you is my what was a great meal that has been devoured. read more

The girl @ drive thru.. Yaya she has no business dealing with customers. Very rude to the customers. She was rude to me and my guest. I reported to the manager on duty. She said she would talk to her. I'm calling corp anyway. read more

Clean, friendly, quick, hot, fresh, and priced right. Inside and outside was packed, but they did an awesome job getting us in and out. Give it a chance, you'll be happy you did. read more

I wish I took a picture of the food, but it was so good, we ate it right away! So we have a date night every now and then, and we chose Long John Silver tonight. We accidentally stumbled on an old coupon without looking at the date like a dork, and the lady at the drive thru speaker was kind of rude about it. We were accepting of our mistake but she wasn't too polite about it. Anyways, we ordered and went to the window, the guy there was SUPER NICE. And the food was AMAZING! Fast food around here sucks and is overly expensive! But this was amazing tonight! Not greasy or over cooked. It was perfect! Will be coming here every date night now! Thank you! Hope the lady at the drive thru speaker has a better night. read more

I've always liked this restaurant and everytime I've come here, I've always been treated good. I absolutely LOVE the chicken here!! The prices are pretty high here, so if you have a family of 3 or more expect to pay. They are currently running a special here for all you can eat on Sunday between 11 to 7pm. You can have chicken or fish or both with 2 sides of your choice, and it comes with hush puppies. The kids all you can eat is 5.99 and the adults are 9.99...such a good deal! They bring you the food, and they walk around asking if you would like more...pretty nice for a fast food restaurant. Customer service today was excellent, tables were clean, restaurant was very busy and the patrons were nice! I will definitely be back for this special. read more

Wow... portions shrank!! No wonder no one eats here! Came by and realized some business are ready to disappear

Went to the drive-through and seen bait rat traps outside. Not looking good from outside the building, not taking any chances on what is inside the building. Kept on driving. read more

Saw this place on a recent road trip and had to stop in. I use to eat at a Long John Silvers with my mom as a kid and haven't seen one in years. Thought for sure there were none left very happy to see that is not the case. Food was tasty just as I remembered. Service was adequate. Happy to be able to remember a simpler time in life if even just for a few minutes. read more

I really loved the combo meal with the hush puppies, breaded shrimp and fries. Not the healthiest meal but wow, it was good. The value for $8 was terrific and fed me twice. The fries were seasoned just enough. The shrimp and hush puppies were crispy and tasty. The hot sauce in little packets they give upon request are a must and I prefer this over the seafood sauce. It is good on everything! My spouse got a fish taco as a snack and really loved it. I had been to other Long John Silvers in other cities and the shrimp were not nearly as large. 1 star off as the restroom needs some work. For a quick take-away lunch with friendly service, this was a great choice. read more

My husband doesn't like Long John Silver's, but my mom and I do! After a day of After-Christmas-Sales shopping, we decided to engorge our bodies with greasy fake chicken and fish. MMMM. Just as good as I remember. Honestly, this is a childhood thing for me. Whenever my mom/dad/sister would come to Tulare and Visalia, we'd eat at Skipper's. That's what this location used to be called. Well, it eventually turned into Long John Silver's and we still frequented the place. I honestly just remember feeling excited to visit with my whole family, so eating at this location brings back good memories of my family. Okay, mushy time stops now. 1. My mother and I entered, and were promptly greeted and serviced by Guillermo. Shout out to this guy! He was kind, courteous, and patient as we mulled over the menu. 2. The restaurant was clean. Nice. 3. We got our food in eight minutes or so. It was piping hot, salty, and just the way I wanted it. Thanks Long John Silver's of Visalia! read more

We've been coming to this location for years. The fish fillets are super thin and tasted fishy. I had to spit it out. One gal had to argue with me. Stating she's worked there over 6 yrs and nothing has changed, I said I beg to differ with you, I've been coming here more than 6 yrs. I told her I believe due to covid, loss of income....maybe you changed vendors and the filets are different. No, not at all she said. We had them remake the dinners. Not any better the second go around. A super nice lady came out to check on us, asked how we felt about this dinner. I told her I didn't like it and didn't feel comfortable eating it. She agreed with me, filets could be a different vendor and also smaller & thinner cut filets. Also agreed it smelled fishier than usual.. She offered a refund. Thank you ! read more

When I go out for fast food and they screw the order up the whole order gets replaced and sometimes a free menu item for the screw up and long john silvers wouldn't do that it was almost 2 weeks ago I ordered the 2 for $6 which was fish and shrimp and a order of fries I got home and there was not one piece of fish or shrimp they gave me 5 pieces of chicken I live about 20 minutes away they sent me a business card with free fish and shrimp I redeemed this morning I got my fish and shrimp and I told I also ordered fries with it and they wouldn't replace my full order it was not my fault my order wasn't right I don't eat they're chicken so that night I had fries without fish and shrimp and now I'm going to have just fish and shrimp with no fries I also put $10 in gas every time I go to Visalia I'm done with long john silvers read more

Everywhere you go there is chicken and beef but finding fish is another issue. Long John silvers has been one of my favorites since high school. I pretty much lived on hush puppies during my lunch period. This chain has some of the best flavored clams I ever had and I have had a lot of clams. Many established businesses have tried to emulate LJS batter and tastes. This location was awesome... everything very hot and tasty. Plus they serve Pepsi! read more

Picked up dinner at Long Johns on Mooney in Visalia and I was very disappointed,, the fish, chicken planks, and the fries were all very soggy with grease. Even the bottom of the take-out container was covered in grease,,but on another note,, the hushpuppies and cole slaw were both good. I called and voiced my disappointment with the staff and she offered to send me a coupon to replace the order. Unless they do something to improved the food situation I may not go back. Very sad that employees to not take enough pride in what they serve to their customers. read more

I literally asked them multiple times how many fish and chicken things u was going to get (2 and 3). But they did not give me the correct amounts( they gave me less). I'm sure they did it on purpose and they did not seem to be the friendliest of a crew to start read more

Yet another restaurant that doesn't have restrooms open so that people can wash their hands. There are a lot of delivery drivers that are spreading germs cause they can't wash their hands. Haven't gone by in a long time just never really been impressed by it. Today I went by for dinner to try their new $1.99 Fish & Fries special. They took my order quickly and handed it to me rather fast as well. I was worried it would be cold due to the fact that it took me almost 30 minutes to get home. To my surprise the fish was still more then warm and the fries were not cold at all. They definitely turned my previous feelings around and have made a repeat customer out of me. read more

Worst customer service I've ever had at Long John's. Team Leader Stephanie was asked about a sign that showed 2 grilled salmon or shrimp tacos, a side and small drink for $6.59. She said it should be $7.99, went over and yanked the sign down, looked at us and said 'it's $7.99' very rude and abrupt. I'm sorry but if your sign is incorrect, you honor it and then take it down. Poor customer service and lack of management skills. So you lost an order and customers. It will be fun talking to corporate tomorrow. read more

It's long johns not much different from any of the other ones the chicken and fish are usually cooked right and always have that signature taste wish they would bring back the onion rings! And why is it they are always out of hush puppies?? If I can put ZERO stars I would. First of all the lady that took our order obviously did not want to be there. I seen her name tag it said YAYA (written out). NO smile, hi, or thanks. The man (heavier set guy)that took the order out to us, I said thanks and my daughter did as well. He said NOTHING. SERVICE SUCKS HERE. Food came out hot though, 1 star for that. Pulled up to the drive thru and waited and waited other people were waiting behind us in the heat, no one ever came back to the intercom, there were people behind us waiting approximate 15min, so we drove off...there was no service on 07-31-15 at 6:50PM no star status. read more

Decide to try the fish and fries for $1.99 to see if it was as good as advertised. There was no waiting at the drive thru line and I got my order very fast. The fish and fries were hot, and they tasted fresh. I didn't taste the normal after taste that I normally get with deep fried foods. Bottom line if you want a low cost meal that is hot and taste good try the fish and fries special. I prefer to use the drive thru line because the odor of grease and fish is too strong for me to go inside. read more

Pretty surprise how cheap and large the food portions are. Good and made well. My family of 3 order all different types of food and all turned out good. The staff tonight are very good. For being short handed they did excellent, the employees were very nice and thankful. We always get good service and great food.

I went through the drive through and as always not a lot of people in line. By the time I drove up to the window they had no clue what I just ordered. I ordered again and got home without one of my meals. I called and had to call 9 times before I could get someone to answer. The woman claimed to be the manager, I explained what had just happened and her comment is we only charged you for one meal.
