Completely destroyed my $2300 electric bicycle. Don't use this company. They are a middle man and don't take responsibility for your stuff. Your boxes are moved from truck to truck by who knows and they can be total amateurs and nobody takes responsibility when there is a problem. My bicycle was completely ruined beyond repair. Someone along the way decided to rip it all apart for some reason. They never told me why. It still hurts me to see these photos. The insurance company they offer is useless. They offered me $1000. Less than half of the cost of the bicycle. Still mad about this although it happened a while ago. Will probably never forget it. read more

I used this company to move from Seattle to San Diego, and I would give them 3/5 stars. For how much I paid, I was expecting more reliability from my movers. The scheduling pre-move was done very well, it is nice having a dedicated consultant to help with your paperwork. Day of my move, I had to call the consultant a few times to get an updated ETA for what time my movers were arriving. The movers finally contacted me with and packed up my items within 3 hours. For reference, I had 1 BR apartment's worth of furniture. Most of the packing went smooth, they do their best to wrap every item in blankets to avoid damage in the truck. However one of the movers did damage my bookshelf when packing up, I was assured this would be fixed upon delivery. Additionally, if the items you provide on the pre-move checklist do not match the number of items *exactly* upon pick up, you will get charged extra. Delivery took a while, they give a 10 day delivery window and my consultant assured me this wasn't the norm, I should expect closer to 3-5 days. My movers arrived after 9 days...being in a new city with no belongings for 9 days isn't ideal. The contractors performing the delivery were thorough however informed me they were legally not allowed to help fix my bookshelf, which was disappointing. None of my other belongings were damaged, but a few days later I did receive a message from LDM asking if I had received any boxes that weren't mine as another client was missing a box.. Overall, my move distance shouldn't have taken 9 days to deliver items. And I wasn't happy with the damaged bookshelf. Additionally, hearing that another client lost a box isn't very assuring. read more

LDM was excellent in all areas throughout my moving process from Vancouver, WA to the Bay Area. The communication from the Customer Service Rep/Agent was excellent from the beginning. I felt the rate quoted was fair after comparing with three other moving companies. LDM promises delivery within 10 days of picking up and my belongings arrived 4 days later which was great. The delivery driver and his assistant also had great communication, contacting me 24 hours prior to delivery and then again an hour before they were arriving. All of my belongings arrived and nothing was broken which I have had problems with from past moving companies. Overall I was very satisfied with their service and communication. Thank you. read more

Very disappointing experience. I set in for a quote inquiry on a Saturday. On Sunday, they called me to try to set up a quote. They asked me to provide them an itemized list of ALL of my possessions (or I could approximate boxes) to give me a quote. This is a very inaccurate way to get a quote - especially since if you end up with more boxes than they think, you get charged more. I had a lot of questions about how their specific quoting system worked (very different than most other long distance movers) and the agent I spoke with struggled to answer basic questions. I asked if we could do an in person quote, but the best they could do was a video quote, so I accepted for Monday at 10am. They texted me at 9am to tell me that they would have to reschedule. I decided to pass. Not very professional. Complicating quoting process that puts a lot of burden on the customer. There are lots of other services out there that are much more consumer oriented. My experience with Long Distance Movers was horrific. Oddly the items they packed are the items that broke. They were poor to deal with and lack customer service. One of their guys was even hostile towards us when questioning why they mishandled an item as they were placing it. They caused damage to our drywall, wood floors and were negligent in their handling of furniture. I cannot in any capacity recommend them. Caveat Emptor as you will end up with broken furniture, furnishings and items and they will hide behind small print in their contract. read more

Long Distance Movers is the best moving crew we have ever dealt with. The day of our move they arrived only about five minutes late max, but the crew chief, called to let me know which was very responsible. They definitely made up for it in speed of move! Not only did they work quick, but they were cautious also and very careful with our furniture. They moved our piano perfectly, and made sure all of our belongings were packaged in a safe manner. We heard zero complaints about it.   One stand out moment:  They picked up a large  TV cabinet that I closed my drawers with tape on and they said they kept hearing something small roll around so they wanted to make sure it wouldn't ruin the inside of the cabinet so they checked it. I guess when they opened it and they found my brothers money clip with some cash and his credit card in it. I had forgotten to pack it up and they brought it to my attention. Thank goodness they were careful and honest. Saved me lots of tears over my mistake!   And towards the end their supervisor also stopped by to check in on things.  I thought this was excellent for the boss to make sure the crew was doing a stand up job. And the price was amazing, when I requested for a quote it did take a couple of hours but I was overall satisfied considering that it was the cheapest deal out of four different companies that I have called. And they did a follow up about four days later and asked me how the whole process went which I thought was very professional. I would've definitely paid more for this teams service highly worth it. I moved from Seattle to the SF bay area with Long Distance Movers made- and they were amazing. TLDR: no hidden/additional charges, good communication, the people who came to help were polite and punctual, all my stuff was in the same shape (no damage). When I called the first time, I was assigned Kelly who was then my POC for the entire process. She asked me detailed questions to give a me quote. She was also very patient through the back and forth in re-evaluating quotes, and in answering all my questions. I packed my own boxes. On moving day two people came and helped take all my stuff out. They were friendly and on time. They disassembled all of my furniture and put all the screws in a separate box labelled correctly. I'd initially given a certain date for delivery but got a place a week earlier than expected so I wrote to them asking if they could do early delivery, and they were able to accommodate. They delivered within two days of requesting delivery! On delivery day, three people brought all of my boxes and furniture up a flight of narrow stairs (no elevator). They reassembled my bed and dining set and were done in under two hours. They were very polite and friendly (considering it was a particularly hot day in the bay area). They also offered to help unpack some other stuff but I asked not to since it was lunchtime on a weekday and I had to get back to work. As a single person who has moved around quite a bit, I can say for sure that Long Distance Movers made this process extremely easy for me, and I'd definitely recommend. read more

So far, pretty bad. I call for a quote on Friday at 11am for a move Seattle-Oakland. Matt tells me to email him my inventory and he'd give me a more complete quote. I do 2 minutes later. I call around 6pm when I haven't heard back, and they tell me Matt will get back to me. He doesn't. I call today and two people told me that only Matt can give me the quote (he's not in) and long distance moves are "not in their jurisdiction." That's the name of the company and only 1 person is qualified to give me a quote?! Let's see if he gets back to me... I'll remove this review if they actually do what they say they will do. Update: he called me 4 days later but by then I picked a different mover, one that in that time did an in house estimate and gave me a quote that was more than 2k less than what Long Distance offered. read more

First off, moving is very difficult. I used to get all my friends and family together to help pack boxes, carry heavy furniture and go get that rented box truck (which never seemed to run right). I have done it many times and thought that was the norm. Our last recent move we decided to try something new. We called up Long Distance Movers, which we heard from a friend was awesome. They gave us a great quote and also gave us peace of mind that everything would be taken care of. After talking with the owner, I felt at ease with the move. He was very friendly and made sure all of our concerns were taken care of. The level of professionalism was perfect. I was comfortable and had a lot of confidence on this team. I literally stood back while the guys hand packed everything in the house with meticulous care. I didnt even pack one thing (although i tried). The furniture was wrapped and the dishes and fragile furniture was wrapped in bubble wrap. Not only did they do a good job packaging our belongings, they were very careful. They weren't in any rush and made sure that no furniture would bang up the walls or slide around in the back of the truck. Everything was moved into their huge truck. After everything was packed and loaded up, the house was spotless. All we had to do was vacuum. No one wants to move, but if you do, call Long Distance Movers. They are very reliable. read more

Could not have had a better moving experience. Long Distance Movers arrived on time, extremely pleasant group of guys, very courteous, treated all of our belonging with the utmost of care, and went out of their way to protect our property too. They were cautious with moving around our furniture, making sure that nothing touches the wall, making sure that our rugs would not get dirty. At one point they wanted to take off their shoes because our rug was just cleaned, but I told them they did not have to. One thing that I really liked was once we got into my brand-new home they reassembled some of my furniture. They seemed to have loved their job, they were very friendly and professional. Very professional - I really can't say enough good things about Long Distance Movers. They made me feel very comfortable, and had an amazing attitude. I have never been able to say how great a moving company was. The last experience I had with a moving company had me worried about the process. They didn't have the great attitude, strong worth ethic's, and fair prices like Long Distance Movers had. From the quote that they gave me over the phone, to the packing and moving, everything went smoothly. The truck was right on schedule arriving on move day and finishing up in about 5 hours (which was alot sooner than i expected). Everything was packed very well, preventing any breakage and shifting damage. I was a bit scared something would happen so the guys packed everything double with out me even asking. This made me feel like they really do care about our belongings. Everything arrived safe. Going to our new home they were very quick on unpacking and moving everything into the new house. Luckily it was only one story but many rooms, so every time they brought a box, they would ask us what room they wanted it to be in. I honestly don't think they even took a break. They had a very strong work ethic and I really respected that. Blankets, bubble wrap, pack paper and boxes - the estimate of these materials was spot on and the quote as well. There are a few stages to this process and so each gets a review, but my overall experience, especially how it ended, earned these guys 1/5 stars and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. First, the packing and pickup. The guys showed up on time and worked hard. It took them about 7-8 hours to pack up a 1,000 sq ft. 2 bedroom apt. that I had already started packing and organizing. That went well enough though they forgot to pack a number of items from the kitchen and it was too late for us to do anything about it. Second, shipping and delivery. When I called I specifically asked if they used their own employees from end-to-end or there was contractors involved. I was assured, twice, that it was their people end-to-end and no contractors would be used. When the guys showed up with our stuff, on time I might add, they straight up said they're contractors. So I was lied to rather blatantly, but our stuff showed up within the time frame we were told it would. It took about a week and change for our stuff to make it from Seattle to San Diego. Third, condition of our stuff on delivery. We had two boxes of completely destroyed plates, glasses, etc. Our slow cooker looked like it took a sledge hammer blow, I had a computer case that looked as though it was dropped from about 10 feet onto concrete with no protection. There were a handful of other broken items. The packing was not good at all, obviously as we had many broken items, but also these "wardrobe" boxes I paid 90 bucks a pop for were "packed" by just throwing a bunch of stuff into them, hanging some clothes and taping it up. It was a disaster to unpack, sort and clean. Fourth, claims and dealing with the aftermath. I was quoted X price and told that the number would either go up or down depending on what was actually shipped after packing. Well, I did the tally on delivery and they missed the mark on EVERY ESTIMATE and overcharged me. When I contacted them about the broken items and to have my bill adjusted I did not receive a response. Nothing. I called, nothing. Left a message, nothing. They were very responsive when taking my money and trashing my stuff on the way down, but once everything was dropped off they went AWOL with too much of my money and zero restitution for broken items. Save yourself the trouble I had and just use a company that doesn't straight up lie to you and then ghost you after over charging and breaking your stuff. read more

I used Long Distance Movers for my move from Seattle to Austin back in July 2017. WOW They were great. Let me start by saying that I used another moving company from San Diego to Seattle...and they were horrible. They packed all my furniture and boxes very carefully, but when they arrived in Seattle, everything was thrown upside down. They broke all of my dishes, two antique chairs, an easel and a bike (more than $5000 of damage)...when I claimed the broken items for insurance, they offered to pay me $15. With all that being said, I was very nervous to move again. When I received my quote from LDM, they assured me that the same company packs and unpacks the truck. They quoted a fair price, and they provided a small delivery window. They packed up all of my items and treated my home with respect. When I arrived to Texas, I had a different crew, but they were just as lovely. No broken items!!! My items got to Texas with ninja speed and my home was unpacked immediately. I am so satisfied by the work Long Distance offered during my move and everything they put forth towards making our transition into a new place just a little bit easier. Thankfully, the quote took less than a day to get to me and just a few hours to complete after a couple gentlemen arrived alongside their supervisor to check out the size of the house, I requested quotes from a couple other places and they got back to be when these guys started the process with me promptly and efficiently. I definitely did not expect the move to be so easy, because it was the one thing which was worrying me for months on end. My father kept stressing me out by reminding me whichever company we choose better be experienced and ready to handle a lot of work. I was fortunate enough to fall into the right hands and not get scolded for choosing a group of guys that did not know what they were doing. The movers from Long Distance relieved me of all my worries as soon as I spoke to the receptionist, they assured me that they would be able to accommodate to any specific guidelines we may have. I did not have the time to wrap all of my stuff in plastic but they made it an effort to keep my stuff safe and sound in transportation. Let me tell you, my packing was atrocious. I was worried about showing the guys the amount of boxes of clothing and furniture they had to deal with. They let me know that they could relocate my things without ripping me off. Not only that, but I had a lot of electronics to transport, and they showed me how they were able to organize my television set, computer, video players, and fridge in the car. Everything came into my house in one piece and we were so happy to find out nothing had been lost or damaged on the route there. I am super sensitive when it comes to being on time and staying on schedule, the guys over at Long Distance surpassed my expectations and got to my place sooner than I did! They helped me take my stuff out and even organized it around my house with no extra charge which we really appreciated. At this time they were off the clock and had no requirement to do that since their job was technically already over, they took all of our stuff from one place to another, that final part was just a good gesture by the movers which showed that they truly were an awesome group of workers. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone who likes efficiency and organization from a moving company that delivers the very service that they guarantee to provide. This person, Brian, was very courteous and helpful. Moving is never any fun, but Brian knew what he was talking about, we were able to create our estimate, and I signed electronically. Easy. The crew that came to pick up my belongings was on time, efficient, and very courteous. I did not pay by the hour--and they took their time with my belongings. They did a great job wrapping my antique bed, tv, and other precious items. When the moving van was en route to my destination, I received text message updates on my phone, so I knew where the truck was at any given moment. The team that delivered my belongings actually arrived early and was amazing at unpacking and putting everything together. It was seamless. Nothing broken, nothing lost. When I got married we rented an apartment. There was all necessary and we didn't have to move our furniture. Few months ago we got our house and we needed our furniture moved from my in parents' house. ( they live in Cali )We knew that it would cost money but it would be cheaper than to buy new furniture. We found long distance movers called them and they gave us quote for state to state moving. Well the price was lower than we thought and it was a nice surprise. That was not the end. If there was a Nobel prize for moving..... I have moved a few times before so know what to expect from movers. Let me tell you that these guys came out on top as far as overall moving experience is concerned. The movers were possessed with only one goal when they came in to my apartment, to consolidate all the garbage I had accumulated, which I called furniture, and package it nice and clean for the ease of transportation across the country. They moved their magic wands and within a few hours my house was as empty as my wallet always is. Strictly speaking in engineering terms, they minimized the number of boxes needed to pack all the stuff, without excluding anything, no matter how trivial it was, for example iPhone instruction manual (who needs that) or "Microwaving for One" book I had lying around. They were able to carry heavy loads on their shoulders and walk in a straight line, without hitting walls or hot girls coming their way. They shipped my car 2K miles in open trailer, without damaging it and the car arrived exact same day that was promised to me, nothing short of amazing. My apartment stuff arrived a week later, was promptly unloaded from truck, assembled nicely and my case file was closed. We had completed our longest move ever without much hassle and stretching our budget. If I ever move again ,though chances of that happening are less than a meteor strike on 29th February, I would call these guys first. These guys worked so hard to package all of my belongings I had to make a review. They showed up 5 minutes early and packaged everything as quickly and as efficiently as possible. They even took their time to help me re assemble a TV set when I finished the move in! Amazing customer service and flawless experience. Amazing to say the least. I actually had to reschedule the pickup because of a few issues but they took care of it without an issue. Such a great company. The move was about 1,100 miles long and not one thing was damaged! The representative over the phone laid out the whole process for me and the move happened flawlessly. Let's face it, moving sucks. Save yourself the time and energy and just go with the professionals. I contemplated doing everything or as much as I can physically do myself, however, after weighing all my options and calculating cost, it would end up costing me the same price. More importantly, I saved time. Had I done everything myself, I would still be stuck trying to figure things out. These guys have it all figured out already of course. They were able to move me from the east coast to the west coast in 6 days which was incredible. I drove straight to my destination and basically they arrived a day after me which worked out perfect since I got to rest the night before. They did wind up damaging my kitchen table but the insurance fully covered it and I got to keep the old table which I wound up using for recycled wood. Now I just need to go out and shop for a new table. Oh, and I can't forget Matthew! He was my point in contact and was the reason everything went so smoothly. read more
