What a truly terrible beach. It makes me so sad to see people treat nature so careless. You should leave a place how you found it, preferably better than how you found it! Not carelessly throw your containers, trash , etc right onto the sand, have some class people. That type of behavior is ghetto. This place is truly disgusting, I have seen less trash at the city dump. The entire beach is littered with shoes, trash, alcohol bottles etc. I even saw a quart of oil and used condoms. I wouldn't want my family, kids or fur babies walking on this beach for fear of them catching something. read more

Decent beach near the airport to walk to. We visited the four oil & gas islands on a walk before our flight out. There was ample free parking near the park; there are also restrooms near the beach. The water is not the cleanest and the beach is also a bit run down so I wouldn't choose this as an big excursion. There is a nice walking and biking path there. read more

Love this city the beaches are well kept up, plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy. Parking can sometimes be a task but overall everything is fairly close so taking a walk down the street is fairly pleasant. People walking are friendly even teenagers walked by us and used some foul language and realized we had our little one with us and apologized for his poop mouth. read more

I gave this beach 3 stars because how could anyone not love the beach. I took two stars away because it was one of the dirtiest beaches I've seen and I'm from New York. I saw a child playing with a hanging she found floating around in the water. The main reason was that my friend needed to use the bathrooms and there were no doors. It looked like something out of a men's room not ladies. I saw a bunch of women squatting over peeing and able to look at each other. I was able to see more than there faces if you know what I mean. I don't know how they was even legal. This beach isn't to rocky so you don't need water shoes. There was a ton of ppl out but not overly crowded. Maybe it was the time we went. It was around 4-7 p.m. We weren't planning to go to the beach but if I was to go to the beach again this one wouldn't be my first choice. If I had to again I wouldn't. Like ever. read more

This is definitely one of my favorites among all the beach cities. Parking can be a little harried sometimes, but it's not too bad. The 2nd Street area is great for walking/shopping. If you're looking for a quiet respite, I would avoid The Pike shopping area as it can be a little crowded compared to other stretches of beach. Great bike/walk path that will take you from one of the b each to another. read more

I think Long Beach is a pretty good place. I don't think it's the best of all the cities along the coast, but it's certainly not the worst! The beach itself is relaxing, and it's cool that they have electronic meters that keep track of how many people are running, biking, etc., on the shoreline trails. Overall enjoyed my afternoon here. Lots of great areas to enjoy the shoreline and weather. The surrounding areas were very sketchy with oil production sites and dead zones throughout. Who doesnt like long beach! Besides the crowded parking spots I love hanging out at Venice beach. Riding a bike on the course is so much fun. Hopefully I'll get an electric scooter soon so I can ride that too! There also lots of good local restaurants to check out here. read more

I like going to long beach because we can always find free parking in the street by Ocean Blvd and Junipero Ave. There's Bixby park. Which is a nice little grassy spot to hang out at as well. On Tuesdays they set up a farmers market and crafts and food stands at the park, cant remember at what time it starts but it ends around 7pm. I like that area e you can also pay for a parking spot that is really close to the sand and just chill in your car and watch the sunset, after 8pm the parking is free. I also like the Queen Mary from that spot and it looks so nice once the sun sets and all the lights turn on. Another nice thing about Long Beach is that there are a lot of places to go eat to and bars to get a drink. read more
