Hubby grew up here, so when we her a chance we visit before flying back home. It's always a special place. Lifeguard on duty even during Fall time. But it sure was a hot day. Not like raining where we live...hahaha

Really nice beach to take a long shore walk, with compacted sand if you want to get your feet wet, or dedicated, paved bike and pedestrian paths otherwise. I came by myself on a Thursday to visit the Redondo Beach Farmer's Market, located in the parking lot of Veteran's Park, right next to the Pier. Afterwards, I decided to take a walk on the beach South to the very end, to the spot by wife and I had come a couple months ago, but from the Palos Verdes side (near Malaga Bay). My thought was: "If I can see it, I can walk to it". A bit later decided: New goal: get to the end of Redondo Beach and the start of Torrance Beach, which is 1.6 miles (Miramar Park seems to be the divider between the two beaches). There are three ways to walk the beach. The sand is compacted enough to walk with shoes, or barefoot if on surf. At sea level, there is a concrete dedicated bike path further inland, which is what most people were using, but imagine it can get quite busy and I'm not a fan of sharing two lane paths with fast traveling bicylists. Higher up on the bluffs, there is a pedestrian only public walk way parallel to the beach, right next to million dollar homes (small, but having unobstructed views into the Pacific). The bluff trail is interesting...wide enough, but no fencing....the drop is far enough to seriously hurt someone if not careful. Along the way, saw quite a few pods of dolphins traveling north, very visible from the shoreline. There are public access right of ways throughout the beach area. A good parking spot would be the two large LA County Beach parking lots near Miramar Park. From there, you can decide if you want to visit Torrance Beach or Redondo Beach. I think we will do that next time, trying to make it all the way to RAT beach/Malaga Bay.

Visiting Redondo Beach is always a great time. The traffic can be a bear but just relax, you will be fine. There is so much to do there. It is a great place to live. There is so much shopping at malls and little shops. The food offered is for the most part great. You can have fast food or some of the best fine dinning and everything in between. You name the type of food and Redondo Beach has it. It has everything. The Pier is large and fun. The beach is wonderful. There are some surfing areas but not a lot. It is safe to swim there and there is plenty of beach to just lay down and relax. You can stay at a motel or a beautiful hotel, it is up tp you and your budget. It is great for walking, there are parks and if you like to bike, this is the place for you. We love Redondo and come here as often as we can. The home prices are too steep for us or we would move here. The people are friendly and all ages. The sunsets are beautiful as are the sun rises. If you have not been, it is a must.

gotta explore and appreciate these parts of southern california more often! much much more chill and easy to find parking, very empty spaces for ya

A gorgeous section of the beach.

There's nothing not to love about Redondo Beach. Great waves and swimming and the beautiful green hill of Palos Verdes rising up in the very near southern foreground. The bike path is excellent, there are plenty of good restaurants and shops a couple of blocks from the beach, but not acting as a commercial hemming-in of this beautiful and natural part of South Bay. Lots of classic, old-school California-style low-rise apartment buildings with views of the sea. And the pier with its excellent fish options for real people, not just rich tourists. We miss our now-closed Canadian diner from years back (you don't run into too many of those) but sadness is part of our lot, and there are worse places to feel sad in than Redondo Beach.

"It's a beautiful day with great weather at Redondo Beach! Great views and clear water

Redondo Beach is a nice way to spend the day away from the hustle and bustle. It is a bit another world (even if not far from way), a nice place to decompress, go to the beach, check out the pier, the shops, have a nice meal out and walk around. We have been going to Redondo for over 10 years and it is a relaxing place to go, but not boring. We love the Marina, pretty lively and fun and enjoy discovering streets, stores around the beach. Parking got worse over time especially at the main parking structure, in the summer it fills up fast. We came here for a few 4th of July since they had fireworks over the water, always pretty. Decent eateries, nothing gourmet, just OK seafood, not a culinary scene. Nice beach area to check out not far from LA!

This Esplanade walk way in Redondo Beach is home to many walkers, sunset watchers, visitor's for all occasions and ocean lovers. I personally have walked this sidewalk thousands of times and will continue to for the rest of my days. Redondo does a great job keeping the beach clean. There's usually a lifeguard on duty at Ave C. Also, gotta love the stairs, ramps and the boardwalk. Genuinely love this beach!

    Prince Charming... where are you?!?

I hear one must kiss a few frogs, before meeting Prince Charming ...se la vie! (see my pic). This one in Redondo, brings me one step closer, I guess... Redondo Beach has a bunch of cute shops and restaurants steps away from the beach. Other than that, it was crowded on a Saturday, so make sure you wear/bring your COVID prevention gear out here. Strolled around on the nice walkway after having lunch. Path accommodated for bike riding, jogging and runners too. Lots of surfers trying to catch a wave out here as well. Lastly, I found free parking on side streets. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) out there :)

The family and I have been coming to Redondo Beach since I moved to Los Angeles in 2015 ( I honestly prefer Santa Monica beach as it's my favorite ) any who the family prefers this location as it reminds them of home! The times that family and I came it has never been OVERLY packed until we went on 10/03/20 and it was so PACKED. No one was really wearing face masks. My dude decided to keep his on during the entire time at the beach. It was the first time the dude came to the beach with the family and I so it was another memorable time spent here. My nieces had a blast and enjoyed playing in the water and building their sand castles. My mom and dad looked so lovely as they walked hand in hand in the water! My sister and her love and my other sister and her husband all appeared like they all having a good time including my uncle too! There's parking structure but on 10/03/20 the lot was full so we had to park above the structure which for 3 hours it was only $6 which is not bad at all! The water was so beautiful and cold but once your body gets use to it you will be fine! There was no social distancing at all going on. They had life guards on duty. They have a pier with shopping and food! Overall the family, dude and I had a blast and can not wait to return!

It's a shame that Redondo Beach City has Zein Obagi Jr as a council for district 4 , He is the most corrupted dishonest attorney I ever met , he represented me in my court case against the Airline , he wronged me , he betrayed me , he abused mentally and verbally , he called me names and he confronted me with my mental illness many times , I have his emails and text messages to show all of this and more , he took from me, he is a contingency lawyer who took from me over $30,000 dollar , more than $15,000 went for expert witnesses that he never brought to my jury trial , and he never brought my witnesses to my jury trial , he planned this way that the jury would award me a small amount , when the jury awarded me $8.5 dollar verdict he got so angry and described the jury that they were so stupid , and he wanted to force me to accept $50,000 settlement or that he would walk away , can someone imagine that my own lawyer who took $30,000 and wiped my saving account would try to force me to accept only $50,000 settlement while he was suppose to share with me the half of my $8.5M , guess who would be the beneficiary of that , he lied to me that my verdict was only $12500 supposing that I was immigrant and supposing that I didn't understand what the jury said , while he knew that he wiped out my saving account , I have all the emails that from him that proof his lies and his verbal abuse to me , I am 65 years old disabled , 28 years Aid Survivor and that scam artist didn't have any Merci for me , He walked away from my case because I refused his pressure on me , he caused me to lose a large $7.225M judgement , and caused me that I have to a new trial next June and caused me all the trouble looking for hundreds of lawyers for several several month and no attorney wants to take my case , they all said that I was wronged so much by Attorney and Redondo Beach City Council Zein Obagi Junior , It's a shame that a scam artist like that would hold a public job that his duty would to protect the public , that monster that hungry for bloody unclean money , we must be facing the end of the world here , I have all the emails and the text manages that would support every word I said , I am one of the public who is being disabled for twenty years , victim by the City Council and I would like him to be investigated and impeached , he took all my money and walked away leaving me for the possiblity of losing my house because I can't afford my mortgage , or my food or my cats food or any of my expenses any more , and leaving me to the possibility to become a homeless , I am disabled for twenty years , and my monthly income is only $400.00 and that scam artist took all my money away leaving me for starvation , his greed and selfishness didn't stop him from hurting someone like me , I am disable for twenty , it's not fair that he should hold any public job enjoying all the money and benefits from the blood he is drinking every day from the stolen money. Attorney Zein Obagi is Suspended by State Bar of California for Moral Turpitude and for steeling $515,000 from one of his previous clients. In his profile in Justia he claimed that he does Civil and Federal appeals , that is a total lie , he represented me from 2019-2021 , and I have emails from him that I can provide that he said that he never done any Civil or Federal Appeals. Before he represented me , he sent me email that he had a lot of experience handling federal court cases , two years after he represented me he sent an email that he never done federal court cases before. Thanks to God and for the State Bar that the Justice was served by suspending him for two years for moral turpitude and for steeling $515,000 from one of his previous clients , I wished he was totally disbarred so he wouldn't have any more victims. I am one of his victims he too from me $30,000 more than $15,000 of it went for expert witnesses to bring to my jury trial against the Airline , and he caused me to lose $7.225M against the Airlines because he walked away from my case in the eve of collectingthe judgement , he had no heart , he confronted me with my mental illness many times verbally and by emails and text messages , I am 65 years old disabled , Aids Survivor and that Monester didn't have any merci on me , he left me stranded looking for a lawyer to represent me until today to bring me my money , I am surprised that someone like that would hold a public job to protect the public , it's unbelivable that theif hungry money man supposed to protect the public and it's money , he should be impeached from that job to protect the public , and he should be disbarred from practicing the also to protect the public , my case is number 5:17cv01065-DSF-AS , it's public records , please check it out and see how much time he stall in my case and how many conspiracy documents he did in my case to favor the Airline ,

Good spot for cardio workouts. Run along the bike path at the edge of the sand or stay on the Esplanade for a bird's eye view of the coastline. Get there early or you'll be dodging people, dogs, and bikes during your routine. Finish up at the 72 step thigh burner, otherwise known as the Ave C stairs. Always a fresh ocean breeze to cool you down. Catalina Ave runs parallel to the Esplanade and is less crowded, the trade off being no ocean view.

When I stepped forward to alert the same lifeguard about the issue, he just chuckled and said, "Yea, we know about it." I was told that 800 people signed up and about 560 showed up to help. Altogether we rounded up about 90 pounds of trash including ropes that you find on fishing boats, couple pairs of shoes, glass and plastic bottles, and a few vape devices. I encourage people to stop littering because they end up in our ocean and beaches. I even witnessed a driver on the freeway ditching a cigarette butt out the window on the way to this event.
