After the farmers market in Torrance, I decided to go for a walk at Redondo beach. It was a gorgeous Saturday & this beach is clean and way less touristy than some of the other beaches. It's meter parking, they have restrooms and it's wheelchair accessible with ramps.

2023/146 A beautiful coastal city located in the South Bay area of the Greater Los Angeles. It is well known for its beach town ambience , scenic pier and the best surfing in the country. It is a very expensive place to live in. Houses cost millions and the most expensive city in the country. If you want the time of your life and live luxuriously ,this is the place

This review is for the Beach that is just to the south of the Redondo Landing. It has plenty of parking, ton of places to eat nearby, and in our experience, not very crowded (relatively).

Redondo Beach and the South Bay are a wonderful part of Southern California's culture and history. Redondo is narrower than neighboring Hermosa Beach so it's a shorter walk to the ocean. The laid back vibe went perfectly with tee shirt weather. The pier is a maze of dining establishments and souvenir shops. I recommend going downstairs by the marina to check out Quality Seafood and smaller local eateries. Beach therapy awaits you.

Stopped by to take pictures and enjoy the beach. It was a cool 70 degrees and the wind was blowing. What a lovely day in California! I need to come to the beach more often! The beach wasn't crowded at all!

From North to South, there's a lot to do on the Redondo Beach Boardwalk. Yes it's not as clean as your doctors office & it smells like fish sometimes, but there are a bunch of restaurants, bars & even an arcade to spend your time in. Before I moved to Cali, I read that the boardwalk was under the pier. It's actually to the north of the pier & down a flight of stairs in the parking garage. I actually haven't been to ALL of the places on the boardwalk, but here are my faves (check out the individual reviews for more info): Gambrinus - I absolutely love this Russian gem...great beers, great food! Naja's - How many beers on tap? Take your friends here, they'll have a blast! KEGS - A fun place with good bands, yummy pizzas & a good assortment of beers on tap. Redondo Fun Factory - So fun! Where else within walking distance from my place can I play skee-ball? T's Toe Rings & Gifts - I don't wear toe rings, but this place has a nice selection of beachy jewelry & gifts. (t's moved upstairs to the pier, so be sure to visit them there) Fun Fish Market - Not my favorite place to eat, but they have cheap beer & it's right next to the arcade. Other places on the boardwalk I should go soon to support the local economy: Delzano's Restaurant Lou-e-Luey's Kona Koffee Company Redondo Imports Dock 132 Voyager Looking Glass Boat Ocean Racer (www.rbmarina.com/ocean_racer.html) Gondola Amore (www.gondolaamore.com) I need to head back down there, because I know I'm missing some shops. Update to come...

Free parking for the holidays! Although there are signs posted that no pets are allowed, people were walking with their dogs and a security guard was in the area. If you play Pokemon Go, there are plenty of Pokemon, Poke stops, and Poke gyms. For some reason, the data does not work for cell phones inside the parking structure. The boardwalk is full of excellent restaurants and bars as well a few dessert locations. Unfortunately, the restrooms are typical beach restrooms.

Great place for a stroll and hang out with family or friends or both! Lots of restaurants, fairly clean surroundings, lots of parking. Beautiful views of redondo pier, perfect for dates or Sunday hangouts, would come back again and again

The fresh scent of seafood draws you into the pier, with the soft sounds of the birds above and from the thrashing waves of the sea below. The pier is a nice place to walk around and relax, sometimes a little bit crowded. And if you are lucky, some days might have less people. But regardless, Redondo beach has some of the best buildings. It's a good place to go fishing outside or buying fish. They have a variety of markets selling fish out there. Although I can say I had a good experiance, I will admit that it can be pricey. The shops have very expensive souvenirs unlike the last time I visited long ago. I haven't been to the restaurants yet, well some of them. But I have tried the churros and the Chinese food. The churros tasted good, my favorite item to buy whenever I visit. And for anyone who wants to save, it would be a really good snack to try when visiting. The other foods I tried tasted good, but I feel like the pricing is a bit too much. I will rate this a five because despite the high pricing, me and my family will continue to come to Redondo Beach for a nice walk. Thank you for the experiance.

Jeff has gone above and beyond in service a few times he came over to the house so I did t have to bring the bike in did a few repairs at the house and other times picked the bike up and dropped it off. I am so grateful I bought the bike from a shop where I can call up when something goes wrong or with a question. So much better than buying on line. Very happy with our experience

We love coming through here, not for the sand or the water, but for the view, bar and grub hopping. Coming through on an off-season midweek late lunch, we weren't surprised to find no crowds - which we kinda liked. (We've been here many times, mostly during weekend peak times and offff...) We didn't miss that at all. There are tons of cute shops, eateries (many who are very dog friendly), and fantastic ocean views. If you feel like getting steps in, I suggest walking to the end of the pier and back. Parking is hit and miss. A challenge during the weekends, but plenty. Street and structure available. You can pay with cards, coins or through an app. It never gets old coming through. We shall return over and over again.

Myself, along with other beachgoers, alerted the beach lifeguards about the situation but nothing was done to rectify the issue. I saw another member of the public notify a lifeguard and they were laughed off a bit. When I stepped forward to alert the same lifeguard about the issue, he just chuckled and said, "Yea, we know about it." Maybe it's just me, but I would not be laughing about what could be a serious situation with bird carcasses washing up every couple feet. The sand was also littered with a lit of trash and debris, adding to the uncomfortable situation. I would recommend staying away from the Hermosa Beach shoreline for awhile.

On this particular Saturday, I am here with Heal the Bay to clean up the beach in a series called "Nuthin' but Sand. Although, this beach is relatively clean that some of the volunteers stated there are a lot of little tiny pieces of styrofoam. I don't remember if it was last year or the year before that residents found a body on the sand in the evening. I am glad that was not during our beach clean up. I am surprised to see one of the volunteers bring back a hypodermic needle. We do have containers for these needles so nobody accidentally gets poked. I was told that 800 people signed up and about 560 showed up to help. Altogether we rounded up about 90 pounds of trash including ropes that you find on fishing boats, couple pairs of shoes, glass and plastic bottles, and a few vape devices. I encourage people to stop littering because they end up in our ocean and beaches. I even witnessed a driver on the freeway ditching a cigarette butt out the window on the way to this event. Is it that hard to use the ash tray then toss it all out later in a proper receptacle? Just sayin', even soda cups and different straws on the streets end up at the beach.

The cliff side mountain structure is beautiful as well, the formation of various shades of earth, gorgeous brown, orange, beige, gray and truly cool hues. There are some wooden Adirondack chairs apart of the resort, free to use lots of patches of sand and rocks to spread out a small blanket or sit on and views upon views of the ocean. Picnic friendly, but very quaint. You can see a lot of look out points and paths close by and just before you decline there is one final pool area (for guest)with tables on the outside for public use. It's very serene, peaceful and even with packs of adorable families and energetic kids very relaxing. The waves and breeze kind of make everything calm (holding the hand of someone special for a beat doesn't hurt either). Unfortunately pets aren't allowed in this area and there is a bridge with a pup corner with rails to leave your dog as well as bowls for water.
