I used to come here as a kid. The low and high dives are removed but it's still awesome! There's a small water slide in the deep end, and kids have to do a quick swim test in front of the lifeguards. Plenty of shallow space for toddlers and babies to wade in. Couple of tips: Rubys restaurant is now closed and there's no snack bar. No glass allowed in, and they will search your cooler. And bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

It's a beautiful day for the Lanakila Classic. An event for paddlers, outriggers, stand up paddlers and surfers. This park is very nice, clean, public restrooms available-they were clean too. Plenty of paid parking. Didn't see public parking. A few picnic tables im the pavilion. Adjacent to some restaurants, hotels and seaside walkways. Lots of neighborhood activity: walkers, runners, dog walkers and families. Note: dogs roam free at this park. Recommend you bring a blanket or beach chair and soak in all the scenery.

We had a family reunion on Saturday, 8/10/24 at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach, Ca. Parking was super easy and convenient. Parking is $2 per hour or $6 all day. Can't beat that price and I hope they keep it that way. Buying tickets were easy and very affordable. We were greeted as we entered the lagoon by friendly staff. We were allowed to bring our chairs, cooler and umbrella. Please call or read the lagoon's policy before your visit. We had the table to the very end of the walkway and it was a perfect spot. This place exceeded our expectations. The place is kept up, staff were cleaning throughout the day. Also, the restroom was clean and had everything we needed. They have the cleanest restrooms in comparison to the beach or even parks. That was impressive to me bc restrooms are very important! They also have staff that go around and taking trash out throughout the day. One group had alcohol and the staff were quick to straighten them up. The staff were polite and courteous to that group and let them stay after discarding their alcohol. Note that this place do not allow alcohol. This is a kid friendly place and the staff make sure that everyone abides by the rules. It has been many years ago since our last visit and we have decided to make this our annual family event. They have fun activities in the lagoon for the children and adults. They have a slide that's great for adults too. Make sure you know how to swim! The views are amazing, people respect each other and don't get in any way. Highly recommend this place if you have young children or if you plan a family get together.

Took the kids during the summer. They had fun, very crowded on a hot day. Water was decent, did see some trash floating around.

The fresh scent of seafood draws you into the pier, with the soft sounds of the birds above and from the thrashing waves of the sea below. The pier is a nice place to walk around and relax, sometimes a little bit crowded. And if you are lucky, some days might have less people. But regardless, Redondo beach has some of the best buildings. It's a good place to go fishing outside or buying fish. They have a variety of markets selling fish out there. Although I can say I had a good experiance, I will admit that it can be pricey. The shops have very expensive souvenirs unlike the last time I visited long ago. I haven't been to the restaurants yet, well some of them. But I have tried the churros and the Chinese food. The churros tasted good, my favorite item to buy whenever I visit. And for anyone who wants to save, it would be a really good snack to try when visiting. The other foods I tried tasted good, but I feel like the pricing is a bit too much. I will rate this a five because despite the high pricing, me and my family will continue to come to Redondo Beach for a nice walk. Thank you for the experiance.

We love coming through here, not for the sand or the water, but for the view, bar and grub hopping. Coming through on an off-season midweek late lunch, we weren't surprised to find no crowds - which we kinda liked. (We've been here many times, mostly during weekend peak times and offff...) We didn't miss that at all. There are tons of cute shops, eateries (many who are very dog friendly), and fantastic ocean views. If you feel like getting steps in, I suggest walking to the end of the pier and back. Parking is hit and miss. A challenge during the weekends, but plenty. Street and structure available. Myself, along with other beachgoers, alerted the beach lifeguards about the situation but nothing was done to rectify the issue. I saw another member of the public notify a lifeguard and they were laughed off a bit. When I stepped forward to alert the same lifeguard about the issue, he just chuckled and said, "Yea, we know about it." Maybe it's just me, but I would not be laughing about what could be a serious situation with bird carcasses washing up every couple feet. The sand was also littered with a lit of trash and debris, adding to the uncomfortable situation. I would recommend staying away from the Hermosa Beach shoreline for awhile.

On this particular Saturday, I am here with Heal the Bay to clean up the beach in a series called "Nuthin' but Sand. Although, this beach is relatively clean that some of the volunteers stated there are a lot of little tiny pieces of styrofoam. I don't remember if it was last year or the year before that residents found a body on the sand in the evening. I am glad that was not during our beach clean up. I am surprised to see one of the volunteers bring back a hypodermic needle. We do have containers for these needles so nobody accidentally gets poked. I was told that 800 people signed up and about 560 showed up to help. Altogether we rounded up about 90 pounds of trash including ropes that you find on fishing boats, couple pairs of shoes, glass and plastic bottles, and a few vape devices. I encourage people to stop littering because they end up in our ocean and beaches. I even witnessed a driver on the freeway ditching a cigarette butt out the window on the way to this event. Is it that hard to use the ash tray then toss it all out later in a proper receptacle? Just sayin', even soda cups and different straws on the streets end up at the beach.

The cliff side mountain structure is beautiful as well, the formation of various shades of earth, gorgeous brown, orange, beige, gray and truly cool hues. There are some wooden Adirondack chairs apart of the resort, free to use lots of patches of sand and rocks to spread out a small blanket or sit on and views upon views of the ocean. Picnic friendly, but very quaint. You can see a lot of look out points and paths close by and just before you decline there is one final pool area (for guest)with tables on the outside for public use. It's very serene, peaceful and even with packs of adorable families and energetic kids very relaxing. The waves and breeze kind of make everything calm (holding the hand of someone special for a beat doesn't hurt either). Unfortunately pets aren't allowed in this area and there is a bridge with a pup corner with rails to leave your dog as well as bowls for water. Felt bad for the one we saw wanting to play with their family, but I'm optimistic they got spoiled after. Definitely will get lost in this cove meets cave meets beach again in the near future.
