I dont know what all the people with low stars are talking about. Place is great and workers are nice.

What a great store! It feels so good to have a neighborhood hardware store like this. As soon as you walk in, there are plenty of staff around to immediately point you to what you are looking for, and offer expert help if you need it. The staff know what they are doing, and they are very friendly. The cashiers are super friendly, too. Whenever I have some household repairs to do, this is where I shop for hardware. read more

Great service. Helped with every question. Great prices and excellent alternative to the big boxes.

Love this place! I'm not a handy guy but when I come here the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Every time I have come here they help me find stuff I need right away and offer helpful suggestions. Staff knows where stuff is and take you to it. Every time I go it's never crowded or unorganized. Near home and easy to find. read more

This is my neighborhood hardware store. Friendly and helpful people make it an easy stop on the way to and from home.

Prompt service, great staff, outstanding hardware store experience. Thank you guys for the great service.

Great neighborhood hardware store. They gave a little bit of everything. The employees are always friendly and help you find what your looking for. The cashiers are the best. So nice and so friendly, proving that you can be friendly and happy at work. read more

THE BEST! I am from MI and needed a few tools to handle an emergency. I went to ACE Hardware in Long Beach, and was helped with friendly, fast and competent advice to find exactly the right tool for the job at the right price! Highly recommended!!! - D. Jacobs read more

It's very rare I feel compelled to write a review about somewhere immediately after I leave... and usually if I do it's not because the review is good... alas more often than not I procrastinate and I'm lazy so the review never gets written. Not today I say! I'm literally standing out front of Ace right now. As we speak! I walked in here with a plumbing part and like an English impaired caveman dragging her knuckles I asked the gentleman working where "a bigger one" was.. he looked at me perplexed for a min trying to figure out what it was I needed until he realized I literally had no clue what I needed but I wanted it and I wanted it now. He asked me a series of questions to narrow in on my needs and then grabbed every part I needed. I would've been happy with that service alone but that is not where this story ends! In addition to being the most helpful bearded man at Ace he rang up my purchase and then assembled my item (probably knowing I would mess it up in a matter of mins) anyways, I have never left a hardware store feeling this confident in the handy work I'm about to embark on! Thanks tall bearded guy and Ace! read more

Harry has it right -- it's a little neighborhood hardware store with friendly know-how. I walked in last night with the broken fake-crystal shower knob from my 1985 apartment .... the girl takes it and reappears 20 seconds later with an identical replacement. Sweet. Important to note that they were only open till 6pm (Friday night). read more

LOVE this store!! The staff is amazing. My hubby was replacing our sink faucet and had to go to Home Depot 5 times for parts! One trip into Ace and he was all set within minutes. We should've gone there first. read more

Came by to get my keys done got me a couple keys the staff was really nice and friendly they know how to keep the business going!! Very good

I always go here first. They give good problem solving assistance. Though small, compared to the giants, they have a surprisingly complete inventory. I seldom have to resort to Home Depot if they don't carry some item. This hardware store is a hardware store and almost always meets my needs. read more

Fantastic customer service. Very knowledgeable staff and very helpful. No matter who helps me, each employee provides the best experience.

Best hardware store ever! Always friendly and helpful whether in person or on the phone. Great Customer Service!

I've been going to this hardware store in Long Beach for over 15 yrs. The employees are ALL so helpful and I can always find what I want. Since I live in downtown Long Beach, I always go here first (before going to Home D) and they usually have what I need. Recently I was getting my sons to help me put up a flat screen -- they needed special wall-bolts and it was five minutes to six PM on a Saturday -- I called, and they waited for my boys to get there and pick up what they needed. It was only a 10 min trip/wait, but they could easily have said "come tomorrow." I'm so happy they helped -- like a good, small-town hardware store. read more

I've been shopping at this Ace Hardware store for over 20 years. It's always been my go to hardware store in Long Beach. I love supporting local businesses instead of the big box stores. Sadly, I will no longer patronize it. I went in looking for a plumbing part on a late Friday afternoon. No one greeted me, no one asked if they could help me, no one seemed to care that I was there. When I asked for help, I was rudely told that there were only two people on the floor and would have to wait my turn. I was in a bit of a rush and consequently left without being helped. This experience was so out character from past experiences that I decided to call and ask for a manager. I believe his name was Mike. He was nice, listened to what I had to say, and apologized to me. He asked if I wanted the owner to call me back and I said sure. The owner called me back Saturday morning. I believe his name was Tyler. He proceeded to tell me how great the customer service was at his store and that his employees said I was rude and demanding. I will admit that I can be a demanding customer, but I expect great customer service from that store. He would not let me speak, said I was at fault, said that I'm not a regular customer because i didn't recognize the employees behind the counter and because I don't shop there 5 or 6 times a week. I was with friends in a car when he called. After I hung up, my friends were amazed that he never let me speak. They could hear him going on and on the whole time. I wasn't looking for anything from him other than an acknowledgement of how I was treated by his employees. I did not expect to be berated by him. The owner might talk a good game about customer service, but clearly doesn't understand what good customer service is. As I indicated above, I will no longer patronize that store. Apparently it doesn't matter to him. I went in to Billings Hardware down in the Shore on Saturday morning, and within 15 seconds had someone helping me. He didn't know what I needed, so another gentleman was there to help immediately. I'll continue to support to Billings Hardware, or the Ace Hardware up on Anaheim Street. Long Beach Ace Hardware has lost my business. read more

This place is a great resource for a community! Always helpful and have just what I'm looking for. Problem with my disposal, they had a handy little tool that fixed it right up. There is always someone around to answer my questions. read more

I've always gotten great service here but today takes the cake. I came in looking for a scraper to remove old bumper stickers from my back window. A gentleman was going over some choices for me and decided ultimately a razor blade would be my best bet. He asked if he could see my car. I took him outside to show him thinking it was so he could make sure the razor blade would work. He ended up taking them all off for me and wanted nothing in return! I will return, however!! read more

You know in this day and age of comparison shopping we tend to jump for the big box stores and avoid the boutiques, but my experience at Ace is a classic case and point for paying a little more to save a lot of aggravation and time. I bought an umbrella and stand for my deck and you'd think this would be a project that could be done blind folded and with two left hands, but no...the base components did not correspond to the umbrella pole and it was not my incompetence as Rory quickly demonstrated. Moreover,he bent over backwards to help find a solution. Even though he was busy, this guy was so determined to find a solution it was like he was on a mission. This is a 2nd home so I was anxious to get on the fwy to beat traffic---Rory really saved the day by grinding a metal washer down to he correct size for the pole, set it and I was on my way. I don';t think I would have had this experience at Lowes or Home depot. This store is an amazing neighborhood gem and it will continue to be my go to for quick fixes and smart solutions. read more

I Ordered a standard screen door for my condo and when they dropped it off I asked the guy where the Handles were. He explained to me that they had a new guy and he ordered the door wrong. So he took it back and said he would reorder it. Called yesterday asking for update on ETA, guy said he would have the man in that department call me back... NO CALL BACK... Called again today and they told me they were giving me a credit. I thought that was nice due to the hassle, but then another guy called back and said the credit they are giving me is because they ordered the wrong type of screen this time????? WHAT??? He said I wouldn't only get the credit if I would accept the wrong type of screen. I said NO, I paid and order the Clear view because I live in high-rise and have a view and want to the more expensive type.. They he tried to blame the manufacture on the first problem even though the owner had told me it was someone form Ace that placed the wrong order. HORRIBLE Customer Service!! read more

This morning I headed over to my local Ace Hardware to pick up some supplies for a small DIY project that I am working on at home. I arrived a couple minutes after the store opened. The gentlemen setting up their outside displays greeted me warmly. Getting into the store I had a basic idea of the supplies I needed to complete my project. Full disclosure, I am not a pro when it comes to home repairs. I'm a true beginner with zero experience. The young lady working there was super helpful and knowledgeable about the products and explaining what tools and supplies that would best work for me. Not only was she nice to each and every guest, she actually took the time to explain to me how to properly and most effectively use the product which I then purchased. Skip ahead to my register experience....wow!!!! You couldn't ask for a better staffed store. The woman that rang me up was fabulous. Thanks to her I didn't have to make a second trip to the store. She immediately recognized that I forgot a basic item needed for my project, which was a small sheet of sandpaper. It wasn't an expensive or major item that I needed but important for the finishing touches. Much like the first girl that helped me, her interaction with customers was fun, professional, and knowledgeable. Thank you ACE for the great service and products you offer. Time for me to start my project. read more

I am so thrilled with this ACE. The only drawback is they close at 6. They are so helpful and nice and have on several occasions gone out of their way to help people, including the manager, without even being asked (as I didn't know there was a camera) getting the video of the parking lot when there was a fender bender. Also, prices are excellent. No, there is not the selection of Home Depot or Lowe's but it's closer to downtown and has mostly anything you need on a regular basis. Oh- and this is the only store I know of selling Compact Flourescent bulbs with the So Cal Edison discount- they're like $0.69 or something like that. Go Stock up! read more

Always personable. If they don't know, they point you towards someone that does. For being as small as they are, (relatively) they seem to have everything I ever need. All local peeps....well staffed. Professional. read more

I had to order a specific sump pump and no other retailers would sell to a non-contractor. I called Ace and I spoke to Roy and he was entirely amenable to ordering it for me. He also was massively knowledgeable and helpful. By the end of the call I understood my sump pump better than my plumbing and electrical contractors. He guided me through a process that included other details that others had not considered and would avoid my home flooding again. Roy is the best and this Ace Hardware store's employees are all nice and helpful. Contrast this with walking into a Home Depot (where I got the first useless sump pump that flooded my place) and having an a well meaning, but otherwise clueless person help me. Ace is the best. Roy is a professional and we are lucky to have him in the neighborhood! read more

This store doesn't know how to run a business. They are so rude and disrespectful. I will never shop here again. I am only going to shop at Home Depot. At least there, the company value customers. Ace Hardware doesn't even have a return policy on their receipt. They need to have one to inform customers that without original packaging one can't receive cash back. Well anyways, when I purchased the wrong extension cord from them a couple of days ago, I returned to their store yesterday expecting a cash refund. The manager told me that since I don't have the packaging he can't give me cash. He explained that if he gives me a full cash refund, then he would be at a loss because the extension cord will be sold at a discount. So instead he gave me store credit. That would have been fine if it was clearly stated on the receipt. Their receipt has no return policy printed on it. Furthermore, since there is no return policy on their receipt, the employees should verbally tell the customers what their return policy is. They have demonstrated poor business skills. The manager needs to go to college to learn about business. Not only that he needs to treat customers with respect and be a decent human being. I don't want to give any stars, but I have to. read more

most of the time my experience here is a good one, but i always have issues with them when it comes to keys! i think they need an updated key machine or something,i have 2 neighbors who complain about same issue.i enjoy good customer service but sometimes i feel like i am being "watched" like i might steal something? it kind of makes me uncomfortable as the store is already kind of caustraphobic.i will continue to spend my money here as i believe in supporting local busuness but they should read reviews on reg basis to make improvements where needed.ty for listening read more

its not home depot. its100% better, employees actually know what they are talking about.
