The restaurant is very intimate lighting and space wise and quite noisy once full. By the end the only seats left were the ones we vacated. Our waitress was very helpful and suggested a 2-3 person banquet for our first Sephardim experience. We chose the $65 p/h Amante de Hambre offering 5 tapas dishes, an ottoman grill and dessert. The fattouche salad and ajo were the perfect start with the ajo easily outdoing any garlic bread I have eaten in my life. The other dishes were on par with one another but next time I'll definitely pick less of the fried variety. The pomegranate on the hummus kawarma were little burts of brilliance. I always thought they were a useless addition to meals but they really do make it sing. The desserts were interesting and I was expecting to find the beignet (doughnuts) most to my liking but surprisingly enjoyed the Turkish delight best. No overpowering rosewater, just right. It is an expensive outing but the staff were terrific and the food something different. Definitely a restaurant worth trying.

Terrible one star it was bad because I didn't go here. I did…read morenot go to this place and I have never heard of it and the customer service was abismal. I did not go here that's why it was bad.

This is good in that you get to sample best of everything but drawback is you either have to be a gentleman or lady and hold back on going for seconds or be the greedy one. I was with a group of girls so I figured I was going to come out on top, but these girls had big appetites and I ended up on missing seconds mostly. The dishes are quite small so I think your going to end up having to order more then what you would normally but options were great. Some the food options we had were basturma, hommus & pickles ( nothing exceptional), haloumi with honey ( this dish had nice flavours and honey complimented it well) , chicken with zhoug ( tasted good and decent sized portion), pumpkin fatteh, with sour yogurt and pepitas ( pepitas really complimented this dish added a good crunch to the soft pumpkin ) , quail, fennel, currants & tamarid ( tasty dish but small and didn't get chance to savour it ) & final dish we had was fried cauliflower with almond tarator & mulberry molasses ( my favourite dish by far the cauliflower is perfectly spiced and creamy texture ). This place has a nice vibe. Small and intimate feel to it with nice cushions and decorated well. Would be great place for a date but think 3 people is enough to share dinner with unless you want to end up feuding.

Yelp: Hi Victor. Tell us a bit about Sefa Kitchen…read more Victor: Hi Yelp! Sefa Kitchen is a middle-eastern cuisine restaurant, with influences from Turkey, Grece, Lebanon and other countries. A beautiful menu, with artsy original decoration, exposed brick walls, greenery here and there and ... the coolest toilets I've seen so far (laughter). Yelp: So why Sefa Kitchen? Victor: Well there was this girl ... Yep that's pretty much it: I figured sharing food made for sharing, with a nice cocktail - I knew they had good products - in a quiet and romantic atmosphere, was a good idea! Yelp: Talking about food, how was it? Victor: Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude the food was good. The staff was very discrete, friendly, professional and highly-efficient at the same time; they presented us with a complete yet not overbearing description of their food and you can sense passion in that menu. We had the pumpkin, the haloumi, the duck, the cauliflower (MUST HAVE) and the basturma: all nicely seasoned, balanced and well presented! Yelp: Well thanks for that Victor, any last comment? Victor: Even if the place is a bit pricy, I definitely recommend it, especially since the duck was cooked in DUCK FAT!!!!

Have not been here in many years. This being a Saturday night I was thinking we wouldn't get a…read moretable. But my partner and I were welcomed in and given choice of seating. We sat down for tea and dessert. I had the twice baked chocolate soufflé which I can best describe as decadent. It was so warm and comforting. The perfect way to usher in Winter. I did try my partners Belgian waffles which I found incredibly bland. However I think most things would be in comparison to the soufflé. I found the service very friendly and in good time. A nice atmosphere and pleasant decor. There was a wait to pay in a cramped area but I was unperturbed. I was more than happy to stare longingly at the display of even more desserts. Will have to come back to try a breakfast, lunch or dinner.

We went today for the Mother's Day high tea. 2 adults and one child with a separate meal. A present…read morefor me from my husband after a previous amazing high tea experience here. Booked as a pre prepared Meal In summary.. Disastrous and appalling. Our booking was for 1230. It took us 15 mins to be seated- was busy. We then waited til another 30mins for our high tea to be confirmed and the menu given. At this time, we were told, that our first course would be ready in 10 mins. At this point, we had been unable to order our coffee or daughters meal. We finally did manage another 15 mins later and to give there due the waitstaff -a young man and lady, were lovely and run off their feet! They were the only two taking orders and cleaning tables Another 20 mins passes, my daughter recieves her hot chocolate, and still no 'first course. Our daughter had finished her drink before the first course then came out. At nearly 2pm. Our much anticipated savoury plate comprised of a couple of scones a quarter of a Herbert Adams mini sausage roll each (my pinky is bigger than the slice received) a temptation bakes petite quiche each (we received a vegetarian, whilst the table behind received the supposed 'smoked ham ' or rather lorraine- according to the owner. A tiny mushy gyoza dumpling thing and 2 small rock hard toasted croissants cut into thirds with a smidge of ham and cheese. All was ice cold. We were starving by this point. Our tasteless coffees came out halfway through with prompting. This was also required for our daughters pancakes which were 3 pikelets with some chocolate, though at least hers did look handmade. We then waited til nearly 245pm for our second sweet course, and this required prompting and a visit to the counter. Which was met with an angry response from the Asian owner. She then also placed the second course rather harshly on our table. The second course was alittle better but not by much. It was two chocolate strawberries a quarter brownie cut in half, some odd marshmallows, a tiny chocolate each, 2 other look to be store brought items(1 each) and small slices of fruit. However again we ate it as we were starving and while high teas aren't meant to be huge, this was just nasty and stingy. We get that it's Mother's Day, it was busy etc but $69.9 per person for high tea, this was a joke. Also it's alittle concerning the amount of what we could observably view and assume we're underage children working behind the scenes in the open kitchen.. And, this place serves alcohol. We finally left this debarcle at 3pm. And during the course of our visit, a number of customers were experiencing the same and heard to remark similarly. I had previously been for a high tea with the previous owners which was amazing as was the breakfast food, and was excited only to leave disgusted and butterly disappointed with a heavy heart at $148 ( Minus the $40.85 booking fee already paid. Also to note there is an EFTPOS surcharge.) It's very obvious the new hands/owner have/are running this business into the ground. In summary will be be back? No. Save your money and head to the Crystal Brook Kingsley,Autumn rooms, Rydges, cake Boi, Local Custom, Mercure, Tocal, Heritage Gardens, Morpeth, the Hunter Valley, Sydney, South Australia even! Anywhere but Coco Monde.
