    The stupid sign of stupidness
    Emily H.

I was happy to learn that there was a cafe that had a good reputation around here. I've been holidaying here for many many years and so, was ready to give it a go. When I got down there I noticed a sign. The sign read: "All our food is cooked to order, minimum waiting time of 30mins in peak periods. (Weekends and school holidays) Refunds will not be given for waiting. If separate orders are placed we cannot guarantee that your food will come together. Public Holiday and Sunday surcharge applies." Are you kidding me!? Needless to say I turned and left. Do they think they're facing some set of challenges unique to them? Plenty of cafes all over the country don't feel the need to have a bullshit disclaimer to feebly protect them from being bad at some pretty core aspects of the job. It signals a bad attitude to customer service, to staff management and just in general. Your poached eggs can't be that good that you'd expect me to put up with that! See ya

Great place for a lazy seaside coffee and meal.

It's a great experience with great food and nice engaging staff... especially when the owners are local and waiting on you.

Order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Looking at the menu there was a few thing to choose from. I chose something a bit more traditional and got the beef (added bacon) burger. The chips were quite nice and the burger... okay. It wasn't anything amazing. A little boring is all I could gather. It needed something like ranch or tangy aioli to give it a bit more zing. Overall a decent place to stop for food and for a reasonable price. But nothing totally amazing.

My partner and I had lunch here after playing putt putt and Aqua golf. It had gone 2 pm and since it was a Tuesday it wasn't as busy as I've seen it in the past. Weekends can be a rush. I ordered a chocolate thickshake which came in one of those massive metal mixing cups. I love spooning out the ice cream before sipping my way to a full milk belly. It was delicious! My roast chicken wrap was pricey for the size. $18 with no accompanying chips but it too was tasty and I enjoyed the combination of the mellow tasty cheese with the red onion and roasted capsicum. An ice cream shop adjoins the building; I think they are both linked under Oscars.

Firstly, this place is beautiful…read more It's only new but the fittings are stunning. The French antique styling of the statuettes holding the candles. The chandeliers. The table setting on the large wooden centre tables. This place would make great functions, although they're not yet doing dinners. In the centre of the cafe is a huge hole in the floor/ceiling with a view to the upstairs, stairs to the right leading upwards. The railings look elegant and from speaking to the owner I gathered there was a different plan initially which wasn't able to be done due to structural reasons. It's all a work in progress but for now, he's got himself a beautiful looking cafe. The curved padded booths were out choice of seating although there's outside too. Comfortable and relaxing with plenty of space to spread out your food. I had Eggs Benedict with my usual extras, a single pancake and a milkshake....and a coffee (I'm pregnant), and my brother had a milkshake and B+E roll. All was delicious. Service was pretty decent but they do need to be wary of when they take things away, I'm a hungry person!
