Dr Reyes is truly the best- he takes so much time with you and makes sure to answer any questions you have and really get to know you. Office staff is always so kind and quick to get you in for sick appts. Separate sick/well waiting rooms and are always extremely clean. I've seen Dr Reddy too and shes fantastic as well. Highly highly recommend read more

If I could give Lone-Star Pediatrics zero stars, I would. Our experience with their billing department was absolutely disastrous and revealed what I can only describe as deceptive and incompetent business practices. Here are the facts: our health insurance paid the claim in full withe the provider contract amount. Insurance Payment Date: March 27, 2025 Insurance Check Cashed: March 31, 2025 Unauthorized Charge: $398.00 to our FSA Card on April 18, 2025 When we questioned this, instead of correcting their clear error, the billing manager was rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional. They pushed the responsibility back on us, despite having documentation in hand proving the insurance had already processed and paid the claim. Healthcare billing is already complicated for families, and you trust a pediatric office to handle things with integrity. Instead, Lone-Star Pediatrics showed a blatant disregard for both accuracy and honesty. This goes far beyond poor customer service--it borders on predatory billing behavior. We will never return to Lone-Star Pediatrics and strongly recommend other parents avoid this practice. If you value professionalism, accountability, and fair dealing, take your business elsewhere. read more

I normally don't leave reviews, but my experience with Lone Star Pediatrics was so frustrating that I feel I need to share. From the start, the clinic's front desk staff came off as very unprofessional. When I called to make an appointment, instead of asking what the visit was for, I was immediately asked, "What's wrong with your child?"--as if there had to be something wrong for us to be seen. Then the receptionist asked, out of curiosity, why I would "come all the way out here"--a question that felt totally out of place and judgmental. Once I mentioned I had Medicaid, she bluntly asked what type, and her tone became even less helpful from there. She clearly didn't want to assist me. After completing a long and complicated set of paperwork, I followed up and was told they couldn't schedule anything until I received the PCP change card. I texted them an image of the change (because she told me to), and after that--I never heard back. I was also put on hold four separate times during our call, without any heads-up or explanation. I honestly don't know how this clinic has a 4.8-star rating. Based on how poorly I was treated, I'm skeptical of the reviews being authentic. If you're looking for compassionate, respectful pediatric care, I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Dr. Reyes is my daughters primary, but we have seen all 3 on several occasions for sick visits and everyone is great. They are all very personable & thorough. read more

We have been seeing Dr Smith for almost 12 years. She was fine until recently. My 13 year old ended up in outpatient psychiatric care and her ADHD medication ran out. I have had 3 different doctors at the outpatient facility explain to me why her primary (Dr Smith) needs to give her one more refill until she is under true full time psychiatric care but Dr Smith refuses to give her the medicine she desperately needs. I have called her office everyday for 3 weeks with not one return call even as a courtesy. Just disgusting for her Dr to abandon her when she needs her medication most. We will never go there again. As a side note, I'm told that the original prescriber (aka Dr Smith) is still required to maintain her medication until she is under routine care from a psychiatrist. Her Center says this is policy and most doctors are willing to help until such long term care is obtained. I can't even get a return phone call. My daughter is now set up to fail when she returns to public school this week. Proof that patient care is not their priority. read more

Where to begin?!? I took my daughter to see Dr Reyes from Oct 2020 to April 2021. In April, we went in for a suspicious spot on my daughters head. The doctor briefly looked (not even a close look- he was leaning on the cabinet and looked across the room) and said it's cradle cap. I knew for a fact it was not due to the red ring and hair loss. Right after leaving here we got a second opinion. It was indeed ring worm. A doctor who doesn't even look close enough and diagnose ringworm properly has no business being a doctor! Now fast forward a few months to June- we receive a bill for the visit. I called billing and left a message. After no call back, I called the front desk and was told billing had turn over and I needed to send an email. I emailed requesting a call. Michelle tried to handle personal business via email when I kept requesting numerous calls instead of email. Michelle and I finally agreed I'd make payments and pay it in full by end of year. Fast forward to September, I get a letter from their collections partners for the remaining amount owed. I call and speak with Thalia. She stated I was not in collections but could not explain why I have a letter from their collections partner. After getting nowhere with her, I asked for the office manager to call me. It's been over a week and I have yet to receive a call from Shannon. After 2 weeks and numerous request I finally spoke with Shannon. She doesn't know jack crap about the billing and was no help. She flat out said she didn't know what Thalia looked at cause I am in "soft collections". She stated if I made payment arrangements with them I had to sign a contract and give them consent to auto debt my account. She stated this was Michelle's process. I told her Michelle was the one who told me to mail in payments monthly and never once (in June nor September) has anyone EVER mentioned a contract from the billing team. Shannon had no comment or solution to resolve the matter. She simply said if Michelle knew your intentions she would have had you sign a contract. I requested a copy of the visit notes. Attached is a screenshot of Michelle's notes from our June conversation where I clearly told them I'd make payments. If they had a payment contract thing in place then, it should have been communicated- it was not. Oh and Thalia even said if I sign a contract now that and they would keep the account from collections. That's a threat and I already had an agreement with the office. I have notes of conversations and emails that will be sent and a formal complaint filed with Texas officials for consumer harm. Save yourself miss diagnosis and billing headaches- go to another doctor! read more

Lone Star Pediatrics - Pediatricians Near Me - McKinney, Texas

Too busy harassing their neighbors over parking to take care of their patients. Signs up all over the parking lot showcasing their policy, yet the parking lot is empty everytime I see it. read more

The billing department is the main reason that we have switched pediatricians offices. We used lone star for 1 year and every single time we called the "billing department", they forced us to leave a voicemail so that they could call us back at their leisure. This is a bizarre practice and clearly they either need more people in that department to handle the influx of calls and inquiries or, there needs to be some reflection and examination of the billing practices so that there aren't as many calls in the first place. It took 6+ months to resolve a FLU SHOT claim. It took this long because we could never get the office and the insurance company on the phone at the same time. We enjoyed the care from Dr. Smith (not so much from Reyes because he was more focused on talking about anything besides my child at the appointments), but the billing issues were an absolute nightmare to deal with. read more

This office was recommended to us in abundance when we first moved here in 2020. I think what may have happened is that everyone moved here, everyone was recommended this office, and they took on more patients then they could handle and it just went downhill because for the amount of recommendations and rave reviews I got, I never felt like I received that service. We stayed for 3 years but I just can't do that anymore. Dr. Reyes talked to my husband more about sports than he talked to my kids and while examining my kids he was still talking about sports! I always left asking myself if he moved my newborns legs or checked their stomach.. it always felt like something was missed because I just felt he was focused on things other than my child. It also felt rushed and that whenever I had any concerns that my concerns weren't realized and more-so brushed off. This not only happened with Dr. Reyes himself but also his nursing staff. It's impossible to get a sick appointment unless you call by 8:15 that morning. My middle used to sleep until at least 8:30 so if she woke up sick I was pretty much out of luck that day. Their website says they have same day sick appointments on Saturday, but when I couldn't get in for a Friday I asked if they could please schedule me for Saturday and was told that they aren't open for sick appointments "every Saturday" even though their website implies it and were actually going to be closed. The past 4 times I had called I get sent to voicemail. Sometimes it doesn't take long to get a call back, sometimes it does, regardless I still don't want a pediatrician where I can't ever get someone on the phone the first time. I also have called before at 4:30, when they close at 5, and gotten the message their office is closed. Then it leaves no option to leave a message (unless for the nurse line.. but in this case I needed to reschedule an appointment) and was told to call back tomorrow. Their phone lines should be 100% open until they are closed or their hours need to be adjusted online. I also feel like I was never charged correctly and often ended up overcharged because they would tell me I had no balance and then the next time my balance was double and then the next time I'd have a credit and then the next I owed double again. I want to owe what I owe when I owe it and not be charged more or less depending on what their billing department is doing. We switched pediatricians and I went to log into the portal to get our medical records. They locked me out of the portal when they got the transfer request from our new one. I asked how I could get the records sent me and they said they'd do it for $25. I told them last time I checked the portal I saw they actually owed me $60 (which I have a screenshot of) to which they said they aren't sure if that is an "actual credit" and they will get with billing and call me back. I never got a call back but two weeks later received a check for $35 in the mail. I assume the $25 difference is for the medical records... but I never got them. I sent an email to the billing department per the letter I received but no shocker here, it's been a week with no reply. Tried calling again this afternoon and again no surprise here, sent to voicemail. This is ridiculous. I also think it's important to note that when people ask for pediatricians on the Facebook McKinney Mom pages, Lone Star is almost never recommended anymore and there are multiple comments of people saying they left or are wanting to leave. Very different from 2020 when everyone recommended them and very telling of how they run their practice nowadays. This office misses the mark in almost every way. read more

I used to think this office was good. The doctors are good, but unfortunately the office staff is another story. I followed these doctors here from their previous practice and I am shocked at the lack of communication and plan out lack of respect for me once I was having issues with billing. I had dropped one insurance and there was lots of issues trying to figure out why things just were going through correctly. I was in communication with the office and my insurance and the lady at the front office basically kept threatening collections if we didn't pay the total even though I had insurance and we were trying to get it resolved. I finally reached out to the office manager because I was not ok with the way the woman at the front was treating me and her tone and demanding I pay before we got this fixed. This is where the office lots any respect I had for them. The office manager NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I left 3 voicemails over a 3 almost 4 month span thinking maybe she was on vacation, maybe she forgot. Not once did anyone call me back or offer any kind of aid when I was having issues getting things processed. Then I asked to speak with Dr. Smith herself because I had concerns with the way things were handled and thought as the Dr. she would want to know because I was already thinking it was time for a new office. And She also NEVER CALLED ME BACK or gave me the opportunity to share with her the concerns and the fact that not even the Office Manager called me back. So if you are looking for just an office with lack of integrity for their patients, or not willing to help and support you. This is your office. Unfortunately looking for a new office I have several people tell me a few different stories regarding this office and the lack of communication and lack of assistance from the office staff. Unfortunate because this was our children's Dr. Smith for about 13 years. I just wish a simple phone call could have avoided a lot of issues. But I can't trust that this office is getting better if even the manager and Dr. won't call parents back. read more

We absolutely love this office. Dr. Reyes and his staff have been the best since day 1. Dr. Reyes visited us at Scott and White the day after our little one was born and made sure to answer any and all questions (and still does!) no matter how silly and "first time mom" they are! He is very comfortable to talk to and has a great sense of humor...in fact it almost feels like he's more of a family friend! And I think that kind of hospitality is extremely important in a pediatrician! When my little one did get sick pretty early in life, Dr. Reyes kept calm, kept me calm, and went through every little detail with me and plan in case I had to go to the hospital. I'm so glad I went with this pediatric office! read more

Dr. Paul Reyes is the absolute best. He has been our families pediatrician since 2014. At the time, our oldest daughter was a newborn and she cried in pain constantly. We knew it wasn't colic, but the pediatrician we were seeing in Frisco assumed she was allergic to something I was eating (I was breastfeeding at the time). That pediatrician recommended I go on an insane diet that was not realistic. We decided to get a second opinion, and that's when we found Dr. Reyes. We saw him and within seconds he diagnosed her with reflux, got her on meds, and we had a 'new' baby within 48 hours. He completely changed our lives! We are 100% confident that Dr. Reyes and his entire practice will provide the best care for our daughters every single time we step foot in his office. read more

Followed Drs Smith and Reyes from Stonebridge Pediatrics around the corner. Stonebridge is a great office as well but obviously we're more loyal to the physicians than the practice. This new office is brand new and gorgeous with completely separate newborn, sick, and healthy waiting rooms. The waiting rooms are large and there's a couple dozen patient rooms in back. I'm guessing they'll expand to include a couple more physicians in the near future. As always, doctors and staff are wonderful. read more

We have been with Dr. Smith for 8 years, and all three of our kids have been with her; two since birth. We love her and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an attentive and caring doctor who takes the time at every appointment and truly cares. Their new office is beautiful, and the staff is always friendly and helpful, especially Danica. She is the best. read more

We love it here! They take time to spend with pts. They don't over book. You rarely have long wait times! Great physicians and nurses

We absolutely love this office and Dr. Reyes, and make a 45 minute drive to see him! It is worth the drive and we always feel we get attentive and wonderful care. read more

Front office staff was okay somewhat friendly and the office is a nice setup with separate waiting rooms for sick/ health patients. Be prepared to wait in the waiting room and the doctors office for at least 30 mins. After meeting with Dr. Reyes although he was recommended to me I most likely will not return. During the visit it was very upsetting that I wasn't notified that the male doctor would touch my child's genital area and did so WITHOUT using gloves nor did he wear the normal white coat. How can an establishment require facial mask (which I don't mind wearing) but the Doctor's there don't even use protective wear when touching patients? That's just unprofessional, gross and unsanitary!!! His focus is too much on trying to finding out the personal lifestyles of the parents instead of focusing on the pediatric patients. The visit was unpleasant to say the least. What's the purpose of filling out a new patient form along with transferring information from the previous PCP with the patient's medical history if the doctor/staff neglects to read the information? This particular doctor does what he wants instead of what the parents feel is best for their child. Doctors like this tend to think that just because they have a (Dr.) in front of their name that allows them to be a know it all with a snarky attitude. Dr. Reyes demeanor is "I don't care" which isn't the way he should act especially since he's in a position where his main business is providing customer service as a doctor. Never again will I allow my insurance to pay for a doctor like him. If he doesn't know now there are plenty of pediatricians/ family doctors that are willing to provide better service than him. I quote Dr. Reyes " there's several good doctors in areas near you". This was said during my visit with the doctor. Most people get medication before a illness occurs not after it's too late to do anything or things get worse. Being a doctor I would think you would know that illnesses can occur in children when you least expect it. It's better to be prepare than sorry later. I would rather have a fighting chance than no chance at all. The ongoing allergy prescription was already in my child's chart for several years If you were an actual detailed doctor who read the chart that was transferred to your office because it was requested had the patient information and medical history you would've seen that from his previous PCP. However, you recommended over the counter medication when my child has severe allergies. Also, this visit was an Annual meaning it's usually a full examination not a 15 minute review of the PARENTS LIFESTYLE after waiting 30 minutes in your the office. I didn't request a referral that was Dr Reyes' suggestion. I didn't agree nor did I say I was scheduling an appointment. A person can listen to an individual thoughts and still make a better judgment by getting a second opinion. Most of the information stated during the visit I found from a google search my insurance didn't need to pay for a consultation from a doctor who was unsanitary especially with Covid still present in America completed a physical exam. I'm sure the medical board would love to hear how you didn't use gloves on my child's genital area after touching other items within your office. Best of luck to this business moving forward you'll definitely need it with the mindset of Dr. Reyes. read more

We followed dr smith over here from where she was before. Dr Smith is great, we have had no issues and I trust her care for both of our 2 kids. We have a 4 1/2 year old and an 18 month old. When they are sick they get them in very quickly and are very responsive. All nurses and office staff are excellent to work with. The space itself is the best I've seen for a doctors office due to the newness and lots of space to move around. read more

Dr. Ryes is great but his office staff is aweful I called on a Saturday to find out some information and the receptionist was rude and snapped at me for asking a general question and I asked to speak to an office manager and then I got the third degree for asking for a manager, I left a message for the office manager and have waited more than 3 days and she will not return phone calls or speak to me every time I call she ignores me and the staff states she not in or very busy and I have left numerous messages and she still refuses to call me back Like I said the doctors are great but I don't think they know how bad the front desk and office manager is read more

Always a 45minute -1 hour wait. Staff is less than welcoming. Held on to a paper that needed to be signed for over a week, made us miss a daycare spot and then told us they couldn't do a physical on the same day as a sick exam because they couldn't bill for it despite knowing this a week in advance. So frustrating. read more
