I have a Lone Star Grillz large IVS that I bought second hand about four months ago. To say that I love this thing is an understatement. Been using it almost every weekend--it holds temp like you wouldn't believe, and the huge capacity give you room for a huge cook--and tons of working space for smaller cooks. Mine is tricked out with about every option except the competition cart. 8" casters, side table, grab handles/towel racks on two sides, two large brass ball valves and one smaller one. I run it using an old BBQ Guru Cyber Q (though I'm jonesing for a Fireboard 2) and a Pit Bull fan. It uses about a pound of charcoal per hour, and the tuning plates are really helpful during long cooks. I've even called the folks at LSG with a couple of questions, and they were wonderfully helpful--kinda remarkable given that I bought used. Only complaint is the time it takes to get up to temp--usually an hour +. I strongly considered a Stumps or Assassin gravity fed smoker, but I'm *really* happy with the LSG. So much easier than the cheap-ass offsets I started with, and gets better results and is easier to clean than my old modded WSM 22". read more

I finally got my 30" Offset Cabinet Smoker that I had ordered back in March (it's now almost October). The web page said it could take between 10-18 weeks... not 6 months (25 weeks). I would have been less irritated at the wait if they would have just sent periodic messages letting me know that I wasn't forgotten. In fact, when I did call for the 3rd time, they said my order was finally started July 30th. WTF, why did they wait 4 months to even start building it?!? At one point, I thought maybe I was being scammed and almost cancelled my order. For the price I paid, LSG should have thrown in a few set of Ginsu knives or something. (-1 star) Then, when they finally did ship it, the 1st shipper called saying they couldn't deliver it. They said the crate was 1500lbs, and their lift was only rated to 1200lbs... and asked me if I had a folk lift!!! Sure, it's parked next to my CRV in the garage (not really). So a 2nd shipper had to "rescue" it. (-1 star) All that said... I set it into its final resting place, cleaned it off, and fired it up today. It's very solid and easy to work. The only issue I have is that the vent handle on the firebox. When they shipped it, they put it in the firebox (I went with the 1/2 thick... totally worth it!). When I tried to install the handle, the pre-drilled hole in the vent is just a fraction too small to slide the bolt through. But I can fix that. (5 stars) read more

This is the best piece of BBQ gear I have ever owned and its better than my friend's Yoder (he agrees). It's built like a tank and its very reliable. I had a few issues early on and LSG took great care of me. I have the 42" pellet smoker with the off road wheel. This is an awesome smoker and makes Almost ask much good smoke as my stick burner. I would buy this pit again if this one was stolen or destroyed. read more

Love my Santa Maria Grill. The grill is made of high quality steel. Excellent craftsmanship. The entire design was very well thought out. I added the 8 in wheels great for easy movement. Love the stainless steel side shelf also add. Very useful. I also added the side or back mount Brasero box. Haven't used it it. The front stainless handle and flip down front is also very useful. I live in CA and the unit was packed and secured perfect for shipping. It arrived in time quote from delivery company. The times I called to follow up everyone was friendly. The communication from them to me about order time and process has a great deal of room for improvement. That would be my only constructive criticism. The unit works amazing. Cooked up some tri tip on Red Oak the first day and it was amazing. The removable stainless collection tray makes cleanup a snap. This was the perfect addition to my bbq collection. If I ever need anything I will definitely order from them again. I highly recommend their product and service. You will not find a better made grill for Santa Maria style cooking. read more

Just beware of the reviews. I tried to post an honest review on LSG.com and they took it down because it was not 5 stars. The pellet smoker pit build quality is above and beyond but the fire board controller for it is junk! Sever temp swings! And 20+ degrees temp difference across the pit sometimes more! I had high hopes for the smoker! I would have saved the 2000.00 and bought me a store bought one. My buddies treager out cooks my 4k lone star grillz pellet smoker hands down! Do not think u can set the LSG smoker and walk away, it can run away from ya out of the blue when trying to use the fire board drive program. Pit will swing 500 to 115 degrees. read more

Wow. Wow. First class company and product !!!! I ordered and drove from Lampasas to pick up my Santa Maria last week. Blown away by the quality construction - fit/finish, steel/welding quality and a beautiful design. Included on my Santa Maria were all the bells and whistle options. Love it !! The Front Desk people were friendly and efficient, the manufacturing facility is impressive and the Delivery guys were complete and professional, first wrapping the grill in heavy plastic wrap for the trip back, putting it on my trailer, securing it with my winch straps, and even putting carboard between the grill and straps to prevent chafing of the grill and rub/cutting of my straps. This smoker deserves a 10 star rating along with Chris and the workers at Lonestar. I've cooked and smoked over 300 turkeys in my lifetime (my FAVORITE food). Yesterday I smoked the first turkey on my Lonestar offset smoker. Not only was it the best turkey I ever smoked. It was the best I have ever tasted. Same way I've always prepared them...same wood (hickory followed by apple) it has to be the smoker...PERFECT DESIGN PERFECTLY BUILT! OK, for the last year I've been reading up on and exploring websites for local Pit Makers in and around the Houston area. I've got to admit that there are quite a few in and around Houston, and the Harris County area. There are a lot of Pit makers that have really good, well built pits. I brought a pit from Lone Star Grillz. Paid for the pit up front and the communication during the 14-15 week wait was very responsive. But once I brought my pit home and un packed the $300 cover I purchased through them and found a rip in it, I emailed the owner Chris Goodlander to see if they can help me with that. I waited a few days with no response. I emailed the Lonestar Grillz email @ lonestargrillz@ymail.com and got zero response. I feel very disappointed about that. After spending almost $5,000 and finding a rip on a $300 cover and not hearing back from them. I feel like after they got my business that they were done with me. I should have just brought a tarp from Lowe's. The pits are solid. Little to no complaints. But to buy a $300 accessory and have a rip in it out of the box for the first use is very disappointing. read more

Amazing product! I went from a Masterbuilt electric cabinet smoker that I hated to this 24/36 dream machine. I ordered this last October 2018 with a 3 month wait time. I asked them to hold my purchase until spring since I live in South Dakota. I didn't want to deal with delivery and seasoning in the dead of winter. They were awesome and held my smoker until I was ready for it. I seasoned it this weekend and the temperature for the whole 6 hours held at a few degrees on either side of 225 effortlessly. These are heavy smokers. Order ALL of the goodies including the bigger wheels and pull handle like I did. You WILL need them. Awesome customer service. The loan was easy and fast. I didn't go to their shop but bought one of their vertical smokers used from a restaurant that had owned it for several years. They were selling because they bought a bigger smoker mounted on a trailer. I had it repainted but that was the only work it needed after years of use. Was like new. I couldn't be happier. It is awesome! I can grill right over the fire in the firebox or put all kinds of stuff on the racks in the vertical section, which is like a wood-fired oven. My wife wasn't a huge BBQ fan before I bought it but now she is hooked and we use it 2-3 times a week. I particularly like the big firebox that allows some serious stick burning. I have several types of firewood that I try. I'm so glad that I didn't buy any of the other smokers that I was looking at before I found this gem! read more

I had LSG build me a 24x60 smoker with a collapsible table. This company knows how to build some of the best pits I have seen. I looked at a lot of their competitors, and LSG made a better product, were very easy to deal with, and the grill was cheaper and I got a lot more than if I would have gone with someone else. I would recommend LSG to anyone and will always return if I need anymore grills in the future! read more
