We were running out of coffee at the condo, but I am kinda spoiled because I roast my own so I didn't want to buy a bag at the grocery store or Starbucks. We were in downtown Bend for lunch, so we stopped into this cute little hole-in-the wall due to the Yelp reviews, and bought a bag of their blend. Fun place. Cute, hidden down an alley and they roast their own. I've only been in once so can't speak about consistency, but the latte was tasty and well made. I'm not a "hipster" and I had no complaints about the service. Backporch is my FAVORITE, but I would recommend lone pine if you're in the area. read more

Good coffee in a fun location. The people at Lone Pine roast and brew great coffee. Their shop is a little dark (as is bound to happen when located in an alley), but it's a fun location. Talk to the people behind the bar about the roasts that they have for a pour-over. Everyone is very knowledgeable and Friendly. read more

Good coffee. BUT there is a 50/50 chance you will be treated poorly if you aren't a hipster. not sure why i have come back after the experiences that I have had. Ordered an almond/cashew milk capuchino. Decent, but not a memorable drink I would go back for.

Rude. Seemed irritated we walked in, even though they didn't close for 30 minutes. Hated that we chose "to-go", though we did that because we knew they were closing. Commented on our use of plastic cups, and our participation in the Bend Ale Tail, heaven for bid we participate in local commerce. Pretty amazing space, with friendly people behind the counter. Free wifi, great coffee... the beans could be better (a bit over roasted?), but they are the best around (they rival Stumptown, in my opinion)... if you buy a bag, you get an 8oz cup of drip coffee free. They have sparrow bakery goodies for sale, as well as fantastic belgian waffles. Medium cup of joe is $2. read more

Competent staff, high quality ingredients, on-site roasting, crazy good pastries. But mostly consistently good espresso which is really hard to do. read more

We found Lone Pine Coffee Roaster and thought this is it, coffee perfection here in Bend Oregon, which is severely lacking by the way. The stetting is perfect with its alley location, you walk in and the coffee ambiance is just what you want. The beautiful red roaster sits in the corner and you know you have found the perfect espresso you have been looking for. The cappuccino is prepared beautifully with the foam so perfect and artistically poured in a beautiful design..the first sip..and that is where it all goes so wrong... any bitter sour lemony flavors in the final cup indicate a defective espresso coffee. A persistent lemony flavor in the cup through a wide variety of extraction parameters means that the defect resides in the roast...such disappointment..we hang our heads and go home to our beloved gaggia..Lone Pine, all the pieces to be a great coffee place are in place except the roast..please fix it!..may I suggest a trip to Espresso Vivace in Seattle, after your fist espresso you will head immediately back to Bend and prefect the art of roasting. Sorry about the harsh review but a little work and you guys could be amazing. read more

We kept trying you Lone Pine....because that first cup was oh so good. But every visit after was just chasing the dragon and now we just plain give up. Plenty of other coffee shops nearby that serve delicious coffee without the holier than thou hipster attitude and acid burn. We're a little older so I suppose we just don't fit in.... but what's with the "I'd rather be doing anything else than taking your order" attitude? Thanks for the big eye roll when I asked for a do over because YOU messed up the order. Never, never, never again! read more

I enjoy the pour over coffee but my wife had a cup that had grounds in it, first cup of the morning. Not sure if this was an exception, but we've experienced many other coffee shops in Bend and elsewhere and had tastier cups. read more

Baristas were knowledgeable and well trained, but quite condescending. Espresso and latte milk were wonderful, but the customer service was disappointing. I have many years of experience in craft coffee and customer service, but I wont be returning because I felt the environment was hostile. I have been in a few times, hoping the next experience would be better, but each time has been just as unwelcoming as the past - sad because there is a lot of potential. read more

Favorite coffee in Bend hands down! They make their own almond milk and only charge $0.50 extra for it, they roast their own beans and they just have a flat rate for their lattes. Definitely a smart move in my opinion! Can't wait to come back next time we are in town! read more

The coffee is good, but if you order a bagel, they don't deem it very important. They take their sweet time filling food orders while being consumed with making the next stupid drink. I've worked as a barista for over 5 years and know how fun it is to make a nice dry cappuccino, and how boring it is to make a bagel and put cream cheese on (which they do a very sloppy job at) but it's customer service, and they need to do a better job. Also, unless you a hipster, they don't seem to even care if you're there, such bad customer service- they don't even know how to smile. read more
