If you want to relive Floridas yesteryears, this is one of those places. An old Florida fish camp. Not much unlike the Black Hammock which I love. This fish camp is about 10 miles east on sr 520. It would not be a fish camp if it wasn't in the middle of nowhere. I'm a local, this is my kind of place. Before all the chain restaurants and theme parks Florida had fish camps. We have many around the St John's River. Nothing fancy, paper plates and baskets of fresh fried fish and gator. If you are a true Floridian, you must visit a fish camp. Lone Cabbage Fish Camp is perfect for a Sunday drive

I came across the airboat rides when looking for something to do on an unexpected open day during our visit. It was something different and we haven't done before. When we showed up the card machine crashed so it was cash only, which you get a discount when paying with cash anyway. We did the 30 minute ride which was perfect on what was a humid day. We didn't wait that long before it was our turn. Luckily with the storms they were having that weekend we were still able to see a decent amount of wildlife out. From adult gators to even a baby nest. The cows were out and crossing the river, and there was a variety of birds out too. After the ride we ate at the restaurant since we were hungry. We just ordered the triple sampler and my youngest got a cheeseburger. The sampler consisted of gator bites, catfish and frog legs... all "taste like chicken" as my youngest said. It was a great experience which we definitely be back next time we are in town.

Referred by a friend to try the Alligator airboat ride. Purchased my tickets at the front entrance for $30 a piece. 20 minute wait time for boarding. Ordered some adult beverages while we waited. When it was time to board, put on my ear protection headset. Boy! That motor was loud. Went on our way to the swamp. The airboat glides very fast! Awesome feeling to feel the wind. Found many Alligators on this ride. This tour did not dissapoint, had so much fun. The tour guide was knowledgeable in all aspects of Alligator inhabitants. After the boat ride, had the opportunity to taste some Alligator meat. When they said it taste like chicken, it really tastes like chicken lol. Overall, enjoyed my stay here. Food was good and prices are reasonable here. I recommend this location for Alligator sights seeing with an airboat. $30 was as good deal compared to prices from other establishments. You are looking at $60 plus per person. Had fun! I recommend. The airboat ride was worth it! "Bucketlist check"

The setting here is stunning, with beautiful views of the St. Johns River in a peaceful rural Florida location. The food menu offers a variety of fried options, including gator, shrimp, clam strips, catfish, and frog legs. They also have grilled whitefish, though I was told it's similar to tilapia, which I'm not a fan of. For those who enjoy fried food, this place will likely be a hit. However, I personally would have preferred more diverse fish options and less emphasis on fried dishes. I didn't choose the restaurant but met family here. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is undeniably charming, making it a great spot if you enjoy a laid-back, Florida setting.

We got off our cruise boat early this morning but didn't have to be at airport for another 10 hours. Decided to book an airboat ride with a company across the street from this establishment. After the tour was done, our captain suggested that we walk over here to the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp for some good food and drinks. So glad that we listened to him because this place was awesome. Not only did we find out that they did airboat tours as well, but they had a huge covered patio bar/grill with plenty of parking and lots of big oscillating fans to keep the air flowing. Had one of the best bloody Mary's of my life here! Also had some delicious food, including the gator basket. YUMMM!!! Great spot for yummy food, cold drinks, water views & airboat excitement!

The Lone Cabbage Fish Camp is located at the Twister Air Boat Ride in Cocoa, Florida. We took the airboat ride down the St John's River first and then had supper at the fish camp. It is a very relaxed atmosphere in the old style fish camp. They serve local seafood such as shrimp and gator, but also have chicken and burgers for those that don't eat seafood. They have live music on Saturday and Sunday. They also have a dance floor if you feel like dancing a little.

The place was a lot of fun. I love the atmostphere. We had a beer outside over looking the river where you can gator watch. The only thing I didn't like is they advertise 30,60 and 90 min boat rides but when we showed up they only had 30 min. It was a clear sunny hot day so 30 min was not enough time to see any gators outside of the water. Our captain did make up for it. We got to see some beautiful eagles and live cow. At the end of our ride we had lunch which the waitress was very nice and the food was great. She also had very good recommendations. I forgot to mention the boat captain was very informative and funny. It was a great first time experience on the air boat.

Great place to relax, eat good food, catch a boat ride and enjoy live country music. We're from out of town San Diego, CA and this is such an amazing experience for both kids and adults.

Cool, unique and cozy place to grab a bite after a boat ride or a shooting event in the area. A taste of small town Americana, loved the waitress answer "it is never too early for a beer, hon" We had a bunch of appetizers / gator bites, chicken fingers, hot peppers bites and shrimp, all priced moderately between $11.99 and 13.99. All while indulging in a cold Yuengling

We pulled into the parking lot, where there was plenty of parking available. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but we decided to sit inside. There's a mix of regular and high-top tables, so you can pretty much choose whatever feels comfortable. The restaurant definitely has that old town beach feel. There's wood everywhere, and the décor is designed with the ocean in mind. It's casual, relaxed, and exactly the kind of atmosphere you'd expect near the coast. They also have souvenirs for sale, including T-shirts and a few other items. For food, we ordered the 1/2 lb. Fresh Chargrilled Burger and the Surf & Turf Burger. First, the service was great! We were greeted and told to sit wherever we liked, and the good service continued throughout our meal. Of course, we had to try a couple of drinks too! We ordered the Apple Pie Old Fashioned and the Pineapple Upside Down. The Apple Pie Old Fashioned was really good. One of those drinks you could easily have three of before realizing it! The Pineapple Upside Down was good too, but it mostly tasted like a pineapple drink. Tasty, but not much of a buzz. Now, let's talk about the burgers. Both burgers were juicy and flavorful, but I was expecting a little more from the Surf & Turf Burger. There was actually a generous amount of lobster piled on top, and the lobster itself was cooked well. But after tasting it, I found myself wishing I had just ordered a lobster roll instead. For me, the flavor of the burger overpowered the lobster. Lobster has such a delicate, naturally sweet flavor, and I felt like some of that got lost once it was paired with the beef. But that's just me nitpicking and probably a sign that when I want lobster, I should just order the lobster! Overall, we had a good experience. Great service, a fun beach-town atmosphere, good drinks, and juicy burgers made this a nice stop before continuing on to Cocoa Beach.

On a complete whim, after spotting enough billboards to convince me today was the day, we pulled into Dixie Crossroads. Right off the bat, the building welcomes you with an outdoor lobby attraction: clusters of people leaning over railings, completely transfixed by giant koi fish like they're watching the season finale of a prestige drama. Inside, the vibe is an immediate breath of fresh air--warm, open, and buzzing with the happy chatter of people aggressively bonding over seafood. We were seated immediately near the front door and handed our drinks, accompanied by an unexpected divine intervention: a complimentary bowl of powdered doughnut holes. Let me be clear. I have zero memory of what we actually ordered. It had fish in it, presumably. It was great! But those powdered doughnut holes? Absolute sorcery. We had to channel every ounce of our marital self-control not to inhale the entire bowl before our entrees even had a chance to show up. Great food, wonderful atmosphere... but those powdered doughnuts are the real reason to make the trip. We traveled to the beach from Orlando for a girls' weekend and were excited to eat waterfront, so we decided to give Seafood Atlantic a try. The highlight of our evening? We saw dolphins in the water. So, two stars for the location and a couple of decent menu options, but the service needs a serious overhaul -- or at least that was our experience with the particular server assigned to us. From the time we were seated around 7:30 p.m., our waitress had an attitude. We were perfectly pleasant and explained that we had a couple of questions about the menu. After answering maybe two questions from one member of our party, she rather harshly informed us that she was there to start us with drinks "for the time being." We were taken aback but went ahead and ordered drinks. Despite there only being three of us, she still managed to forget one of the drinks. We also ordered Jell-O shots -- one for each of us -- and had no idea they came in different flavors. She neither told us nor asked for a preference; she simply left a variety on the table for us to coin-flip over. After the drinks arrived, she disappeared for at least 10-15 minutes before returning to take our food order. By then, it was around 7:45 p.m. She informed us that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes and that our appetizers and entrées would all have to come out together. Given how little we had seen of her up to that point, we were understandably frustrated. We felt rushed and like we weren't being given an opportunity to actually sit and relax, but we agreed. Once the food arrived, one order contained an ingredient we had specifically asked to be left off, and the knives we requested never arrived. But the worst part came when one of my friends discreetly approached our server to pay the check. She wanted to surprise the group by treating everyone and was trying to do so without any fuss. Instead, our server gave her a hard time, saying, "I have another table and am busy right now." Apparently, the hostess had already run my friend's card and given the receipt to our waitress. Our server then came over, slammed the receipt down on the table, and said, "Here! She took care of that for you." It was unbelievable. The abrasiveness and utter lack of customer service were truly the most memorable parts of the evening. And for all that aggression, the food was barely worth it. Were some menu options decent? Yes. Was anything wonderful enough to make us overlook the poor service? Not even close. The fresh catch was nice, the sides were fine, and we all agreed the Gouda mac and cheese was yummy. Otherwise, nothing really stood out. In a very rare move for me, I actually asked to speak with a manager. They did remove the cost of an appetizer and a drink, but the bill was still upwards of $100, and by that point, it really felt like a rip-off. The view alone isn't enough to bring me back. I'll stick with Fishlips next door, which I would recommend as an alternative.

We opted for the crab cake, which was good with very little filler. The Fisherman's Bounty Platter ($30) came with shrimp, fish bites, oysters, and sea scallops along with fries and coleslaw. Since they were out of oysters, they substituted with extra shrimp and the hush puppies were substituted for extra coleslaw instead. The portion size was good for the price. The fish bites were a combo of snapper and grouper. I didn't know which one I had, but I preferred one over the other. I did think the seafood could have used more seasoning. We really liked the coleslaw. The food was okay, it satisfied my hunger.
