Picking up my wife from the airport after a grueling 10-day separation calls for a celebration--or at least some fried fish. On a complete whim, after spotting enough billboards to convince me today was the day, we pulled into Dixie Crossroads. Right off the bat, the building welcomes you with an outdoor lobby attraction: clusters of people leaning over railings, completely transfixed by giant koi fish like they're watching the season finale of a prestige drama. Inside, the vibe is an immediate breath of fresh air--warm, open, and buzzing with the happy chatter of people aggressively bonding over seafood. We were seated immediately near the front door and handed our drinks, accompanied by an unexpected divine intervention: a complimentary bowl of powdered doughnut holes. Let me be clear. I have zero memory of what we actually ordered. It had fish in it, presumably. It was great! But those powdered doughnut holes? Absolute sorcery. We had to channel every ounce of our marital self-control not to inhale the entire bowl before our entrees even had a chance to show up. Great food, wonderful atmosphere... but those powdered doughnuts are the real reason to make the trip. Greatness with sugar on top. Literally! read more

Food Quality & Taste: 4/5 I hadn't been to Dixie Crossroads in over a decade. And it was still great! I really enjoyed the food. The Corn Chowder was probably my favorite, and the Rock Shrimp was of course a strong option. I also had the stuffed flounder. It was solid, but the corn chowder stole the show. -Caesar Salad: 3.5/5 -Shrimp and Sausage Corn Chowder: 5/5 -Rock Shrimp: 4/5 -Stuffed Flounder: 4/5 Service: 5/5 The service was excellent! Fast, curious, light-hearted, anticipatory, and the server helped us successfully peel and eat the rock shrimp. Even the hostesses were pleasant. Atmosphere: 3/5 We were seated in an inside area, not close to the window. So, it felt a little dreary with the lighting. Nothing negative, but I perceived it to be an average atmosphere. Value: 4/5 Really good value. The food was affordable to almost cheap on some items. I was very pleased with the pricing. The food was seasoned, the portion size was nice, and again, the service was great. It was also a nice nostalgic experience for me. Opportunities for Learning: 4/5 The Dixie Crossroads has been around for decades. And the founders are pioneers in the peeling of rock shrimp, particularly in FL, so the restaurant story is amazing. Additionally, with the variety of seafood, there's much to discover and learn about the menu, rock shrimp, and the founding family's story. read more

Clam chowder and Caesar salad are so good. I usually have the cheese curds and the fried oysters they are large and so fresh. My son loves their burgers. He doesn't eat seafood. read more

I love a restaurant with Old Florida charm and this one has it in spades. Dixie Crossroads is family owned and operated and has been serving up fresh seafood since 1983. They are especially known for their delicious rock shrimp when restaurant founder Rodney Thompson invented a machine to get the notoriously difficult to remove shrimp out of their shells cleanly. Some compare the taste of rock shrimp to lobster. I had fun feeding the fish with the free food they provide while I waited for a table but I didn't have to wait long because the restaurant is quite large. I imagine feeding the fish is an especially fun activity for the kids. Once inside we were shown to our table in a large dining room decorated with sea themed touches. There is even a lighthouse room and the restaurant is decked out for the holidays. The menu is extensive so that even non seafood lovers can find something to enjoy. Broken into five sections there are appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches and baskets, seafood and non seafood dishes. There is a full service bar and of course the dessert menu features Florida's favorite dessert, key lime pie. Before your meal they drop you a plate of complementary powdered sugar covered corn fritters which was a welcome treat. We came for the seafood and they have a number of combination platters to choose from. Our choice was the Cape Canaveral that came with two dozen rock shrimp, 1/4 pound of scallops, and one dozen small shrimp. We also got a mahi mahi sandwich. They season the seafood the way you like, Key West, Old Bay, blackened, etc. Everything was fresh and tasty. Service was prompt and they checked in periodically to see if we needed anything else. I had wanted to try this restaurant out for awhile and it checked all my boxes, Florida vibes, tasty and fairly priced seafood, and friendly service. I would definitely return if I was in the Titusville area again. read more

Historic Dixie Crossroads is a must visit from all that drive up/down I-95. The food is good most every day, and will satisfy your seafood cravings. You will love their little corn fritters, but be careful you will be taking your meal order home in a to-go-box as you will be full of fritters! The service is good, and you won't be disappointed with your serving size of your selections. read more

My wife and I stopped here on the way home. She was after the corn fritters that are complimentary with every Meal. I got a dozen medium shrimp, fried, sides of Cesar salad and sweet potato. She got a grilled chicken with the new char seasoning., side salad and baked potato. Everything was fresh and tasty and we had a good waitress, Mackenzie. Definitely a welcome dinner stop. read more

A kickoff to summer roadtrip brought me to this local landmark with great eats with a cozy yet spacious fisherman's village charm. They start every table with their homemade corn fritters dusted with powdered sugar. Friendly server brought us our plates and we enjoyed a lunch from the sea. The rock shrimp were recommended to me and rightfully so- yummy little butterflies filled my tummy while the corn and andouille chowder warmed my heart. Oysters were refreshing. Lobster and sweet crab legs were on point, and the steamed veggies + crisp cole slaw were a basic hit too. Menu has many tempting dishes and combinations to choose from. This family friendly spot boasts a pond were you can watch the turtles swim around and feed the fish by grabbing some fish food by the hostess stand. The bathroom was unexpectedly modern and bright/clean. Highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner! read more

Its been over 20 years since my nana ate here so for a fun surprise for her my family and I made a 3 hour road trip just to come here. We were instantly greeted with little corn fritters that were so good. My nana got the rock shrimp - I believe what they're known for - I got the veggie burger, which I'm so happy theh offered and the mac and cheese, which was really good. My mom got the haddock and my aunt the tacos. Everything was delicious and pur waitress was so friendly and made sure we always had drinks and checked in on us throughout. When you're done, make sure to stop at the front to grab some free fish food to feed the fish and turtles out front. read more

Passing thru for the moon launch. Saw the interstate signs. Restaurant was clean and well lit with several child safe activities like shrimp characters and fish feeding opportunities. Service was good but I did feel rushed despite it not being busy. I was asked halfway through my sandwich if I was ready for my check and when I asked for a refill it came in a to go cup... I had the dynamite shrimp poor boy. It was well prepared and a good sized helping. The perceived rush is the only reason for the 4 stars. I might have come at shift change or maybe they were prepping for a bigger crowd later. It wasn't quite rude but it was rude adjacent read more

Dixie Crossroads has to be one of the most recognizable restaurants here in Titusville! You have tons of people who know Titusville simply because of their love for this restaurant. Some of the people I know used to drive 1.5 hours just to come to this restaurant. I've been a few times over the years here in Titusville and they have a pretty large selection on their menu. The atmosphere is great inside and out for a very unique, coastal, and seafood vibe. They have hilarious shrimp statues that welcome you as you turn into the parking lot too! read more

Dixie Crossroads is always a must-visit when we're craving fresh seafood. The broiled oysters are absolutely delicious, the catfish is consistently fried to perfection, and everything always tastes fresh and flavorful. It's also one of my favorite places to bring the family. My kids absolutely love the cheesy grits, and the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere makes dining here easy and enjoyable. The staff is always attentive, kind, and genuinely makes you feel at home. This institution (really well known) has many rooms hence lots of diners! They are famous for rock shrimp which are like little lobsters bec of their hard shells. I got rock shrimp stuffing with my flounder...just what I wanted. I ordered the fish dip for the table ($10) and it had big pieces of fish in the cream cheese base. With an entree you get 2 sides but I upgraded (?$3) for a salad with soup....plenty of food. When you sit down they bring you bowls of donut holes with powdered sugar so I was thinking....dessert 1st? but no...they are sweet corn fritters. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed their meal. read more

Super large restaurant with a very, very nice employees from the host to the server. Coleslaw was not the greatest in my view. They give you delicious free hush puppies with their meal however they throw way much powdered sugar on them so I asked for them to bring me something without the added sugar and they did. The rock shrimp was OK and I had a sweet potato with it. It was ok but nothing to write home about Very clean read more

Taste: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Dixie Crossroads is an awesome spot for seafood lovers. The menu has a ton of options, from fresh fish and scallops to their famous rock shrimp, and even all-you-can-eat selections if you come hungry. Everything we tried was really good, you can tell they know their seafood. They start you off with a basket of corn fritters, which are slightly sweet and totally addictive. Just be careful not to fill up on them before your main meal comes out because the rest of the food is just as good, if not better. The restaurant itself has a laid-back, welcoming vibe with plenty of seating. The look is very charming, the walls are covered in local artwork and ocean-themed pieces. Service was excellent, our server was super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu. All around, it's a great spot for a relaxed, satisfying meal. Had dinner at Dixie Crossroads after spending the afternoon near the Kennedy Space Center. We ordered the Cape Canaveral Special and the coconut shrimp since both were recommended by our server when we asked about popular dishes. The seafood tasted fresh and the coconut shrimp had a nice crunch without being overly sweet. Our meals came out pretty quickly even though the dining room was packed with families and tourists. I also appreciated how organized the staff seemed during the dinner rush. Drinks were refilled often and someone checked on our table a few times without interrupting conversations. The place definitely has an old Florida seafood restaurant feel in a good way, casual and comfortable without trying too hard. read more

The menu has a great variety of selections and every meal I've ordered has been excellent. And over the past couple of decades that is a sizable number. My favorite is their signature rock shrimp. The servers have been friendly and attentive. It has nice seafood vibe including a large pond with koi fish you can feed. My only down check is it's popularity. It has become so popular that there can be a sizable wait time to be seated and on occasion for the food to arrive. So go early. read more

Had the greatest meal here! I picked this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation and he did not let me down!! The wait wasn't bad for no reservations on a Friday night (they don't take reservations for small parties). Our waitress Aubrie was absolutely the best! She said she had worked there for 10 years and it showed, she was great! We started with Gator Bites which were delicious! The full menu definitely had something for everyone, but seafood is definitely the focus!!! Dinner came out and it filled the table!! We both got variations of the Indian River and i was absolutely stuffed by the time we left!! You can choose how you want everything cooked so even the same meal can come out completely different, everything was delicious. If you're in Titusville, you absolutely need to stop by and check this place out!! read more

Favorite hidden gem! This is my second time going and I really hyped it up to my husband post gator boat ride! We stopped in for a late lunch, waiting ten minutes before being sat. As we waited the host told us all about how her family (dad and maybe grandma?) had worked there for years. It was really heartwarming to hear that they were taken care of and loved it. Our waitress was very kind and quickly got us some drinks. We snacked on the huge portion of hush puppies well we looked over the menu. Super yummy! I ordered the rock shrimp tossed in old bay, just as I remembered, delicious! Definitely messy but so worth it. My husband got the fried large shrimp with buffalo sauce, weren't the best The only thing is that the entrance to the restaurant smells soooooo fishy, can definitely impact your appetite. Overall, such a fun and iconic stop! read more

We have come here a couple times in the past, but it literally has been over ten years since the last time. The rock shrimp was tasty. I think this is their main attraction. You can't go wrong with ordering a bunch of rock shrimp and calling it a day. Other than that- and maybe the coconut shrimp and bacon wrapped shrimp, I don't recommend. Actually, maybe the fried items are okay, but anything else is kind of sad. Service was decent. It took a little time for our food to come out, but it being a Friday night- we understood. The place is a bit dated as far as decor, but the establishment has been there for quite some time. read more

Went to Dixie Crossroads for dinner, craving a steak. Our server, Sarah, was great. I ordered a steak, medium rare, but closer to pink. The food arrived and the steak was well done. Our server apologized and said she specifically told the cook medium/rare. She took it back and brought me another, which was cooked correctly. I have only sent food back a few times in my life as I can usually deal with it, but I was just really craving a steak as I ordered it. This place is typically pretty good. We had lunch at Dixie Crossroads today and had a wonderful lunch. On ambiance and service I would give them a solid 5 stars! This is definitely a very popular restaurant because the whole time we were there it was packed. When you are seated even before they take your drink orders, you are served warm corn fritters. Oh my goodness, what a small bite of pure deliciousness. Most of us ordered the rock shrimp which they are known for. You can get them plain, garlic or old bay seasoned with a cup of dipping butter. Our lunch was served with two sides. I had mine with shrimp chowder and coleslaw. My husband got the clam chowder and coleslaw while some of our party ordered french fries. They had other options you could choose from on the sides such as baked potato or sweet potato fries. The Cole slaw was tasty but a little too wet for my taste. I didn't order the fries but I tasted them. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't order them or I would have eaten every last one they were so good. read more

Everything was good except I thought the fish was not the best..over fried and very "skinny" by my standards.

My family was craving seafood and were thrilled we stopped at Dixie Crossroads. Our server Paul was engaging and attentive, and he greeted us with complimentary corn fritters which were delicious. I got the Indian River platter with fried flounder, rock shrimp, and scallops. The rock shrimp was prepared nicely and had great flavor and bite. The scallops were sweet and the flounder had a nice breading. My wife enjoyed her shrimp and while we couldn't convince my son to order seafood he did enjoyed his kids chicken tenders. Today for the first time I went to Dixie Crossroads in Titusville Fl for lunch. The restaurant is well lit, clean and inviting. The service was good and busy. So here's what wasn't great. I ordered the Flounder with old bay seasoning, a baked potato and the soup of the day (a shrimp tomato soup) Let's talk about the Flounder. I ordered the large portion and when it was brought out I noticed immediately that it was sitting in water and after 1 taste of it I quickly noticed it to be dry and flavorless. I added salt and hot sauce in hopes to enhance the flavor, I added hot sauce multiple times. The flounder was terrible and I didn't eat more than 3 bites in hopes that the hot sauce and salt would wake up the flavor, the water it was presented in told the truth that the fish was frozen, put in an oven, NOT a broiler as I had ordered . The soup was only ok, the baked potato was baked correctly. My friend ordered the Maui fish, blackened. When his order was delivered to him it was obvious that the Maui had been cut making it 2 very thin slices and the restaurant considered it to be the "large" order which meant he should have received 2 pieces of Maui but in reality it was 1 piece (6oz) cut to look like 2. The "so called blackened " was not correct. The waitress made her way back to check in with us and that's when I mentioned it is NOT blackened. She responded with, " I'll get the manager " Manager comes over I mention my Flounder isn't good, it's wet with zero flavor and I asked about the "blackened not blackened Maui and how it was cut in half making it look like it was 2 pieces of Maui fish. He stood there and said, We don't have the right equipment to "blackened" fish so it is just a seasoning. Unforgettable experience, he admitted the food is incorrect and that he would mention it to the owner, well I hope the owner sees my comment. I do Yelp reviews on the regular and the price for what you order doesn't match up with what comes out of the kitchen. I will not recommend this place, nor the food. I really wanted to enjoy the experience, receive great food from this Titusville restaurant. Cost $$$ ...pricey read more
