a close up of some flowers

EXCELLENT! We had the distinct pleasure of eating here for breakfast. It was a little bit of a drive from the I-40, but wow! Are we pleased that we did. It was their 3 year anniversary and we were offered delicious desserts to celebrate. We also got to meet Lolly who told us all of the pies and desserts were her grandmothers recipe!!! Truly the best desserts we have had, just like grandma made!! Sausage is excellent, coffee great, eggs cooked perfectly and by far the best biscuit I have had. Polite, warm, welcoming service! And BOTTOMLESS coffee, just like coffee should be :) What an absolute treasure. Cute, quaint, and clearly a local favorite. Wanna taste history? Wanna experience EXCELLENT food service and honest kindness? Come here! I was to busy enjoying the food to take pics but did take some pics of the GORGEOUS flowers outside. Lolly, we wish you and your staff and family the absolute best and hope you have all the years in business you want!!

2 eggs overnight done to perfection! Hash browns and fresh biscuit with gray

First off it's a nice place, decor wise, the waitress was nice, responsible and checked on me regularly. When I walked in there is a bar area but apparently no alcohol, no worries, Ordered the chicken parm with pasta and a salad. The woman delivering salad was not as friendly as the waitress, having a bad day maybe? I barely ate half of the salad and the main was delivered by the same grumpy woman. The chicken was ok, pasta was ok although I prefer a thinner spaghetti. The Sauce is best described as eating tomato paste from a can, it was that thick and lacking enough spices e.g. Basel, Garlic and Salt plus olive oil. As you can tell from the photo the dish could have received more heat to melt the cheese. The dish included garlic bread unfortunately it was soggy and really wasn't toasted well. I would say the salad was the best part of the meal which I enjoyed eating in between bites of the main. Opportunity for improvement for sure.

Car noise was often loud and fumes overpowering. A ton of flies made eating outside a challenge. Service was initially prompt, but large gaps on table check-in made us wonder if we'd been forgotten though the server was friendly and helpful. Ordered appetizer of lemon pepper shrimp which was severely disappointing. It was shrimp on a skewer with a lemon on the plate. High pricing for something so simple. Bar-like food. 8" pizza was very good with sufficient toppings. Smashed burger was okay. Fries were average. Nothing outstanding but a nice establishment in a small town where such options are extremely limited.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. It's a no-frills space inside but that's what I want in a classic meat and three! There's a menu on the wall with specials and a physical menu a well which was great. Our table had the chicken and dumpling special, fried catfish sandwich, fried okra, mashed and scallop potatoes, green beans, and cornbread. Everything was excellent and you could tell was home cooked. The fish, okra, mashed potatoes and chicken and dumplings were stand outs though. So good! We decided to grab two pies to go to share with some lucky friends, and got the peanut butter fudge and pecan plus a slice of the lemon meringue. Everything was so good but the peanut butter and pecan is very rich (obviously). Both were excellent but we should've grabbed some vanilla ice cream. The lemon meringue was excellent, and if we had known you need to order it in advance to get a whole pie we would've! Now we know for next time. Be sure to stop by The Rose Garden if you are in the area for excellent homemade southern cooking!

The prices and that it is locally owned and operated are always attractive to me. I ventured out there today and received a wonderful breakfast. I ordered a big breakfast platter, which had three eggs, bacon, French toast, hashbrowns and I ordered a side of grits. I also ordered Mike's Country breakfast platter, that way I was able to double up on my bacon. Both of my breakfasts were cooked perfectly. It's hard to find somebody that actually knows how to cook eggs properly. Everything about the breakfast was great and I wiped it all out. I was talking to my wonderful server, Renee, she mentioned Sundays all you can eat Food Bar from 11-3. Did somebody say all you can eat? ??? I know we're I'll be on Sunday, especially knowing what's going to be there and knowing that it was cooked fresh there!! Franklin, the owner, was as pleasant as can be, and we all chatted for a while. Jane Read's is worth the drive from any of the areas around here. There's plenty of seating, the restaurant is clean, the help is extremely quick and kind..... and best of all, the affordable food rocks!! If you wanna hang out, meet me there on Sunday at 11. I'm not waiting around till it gets busy......

We were not bothered by that but some people may certainly be bothered by it. The waitress came to the table and asked if we needed a menu, she brought silverware and asked us what we wanted to drink. It appeared there was one waitress and one cook. We brought our drinks and asked what we wanted to eat and I said I wanted to pancakes with bacon and the I said are you sure are pancakes are really large as she motioned to about the size of a plate. I said yes I want two of them and I could have done without the eye roll at not taking her suggestion. The hubby ordered biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash browns, and sausage. She brought out our meal and asked if we needed more coffee or tea. It was a good breakfast and there was plenty of food to eat. We left there satisfied and I am sure when we are back in the Celina, Tennessee area we will stop in here again.
