Among the best smoked meats I ever ate. The food is amazing. We ordered a brisket and a pulled pork sandwich with beans and mac n cheese. The pork was among the best I ever had. The flavor of the rub and smoke goes through all the meat. The brisket was tender, meaty, pleasantly salty and peppery. The beans were house made and the sauce was a little thin and the mac n cheese was very creamy. The homemade sauces were epic. The counter service was helpful and our food was ready right away. The place is small. More like a roadside joint than a restaurant. It can barely fit 30 people. Minus one star for not having blues music!

Hubby was all hot to try their chocolate gravy which was mentioned in the article. The waitress flatly stated it's not served after 10:30 even though the menu noted it was available "until we run out". It was around 12:30 and didn't appear very busy that day. I can understand if she had said they ran out but just cutting him off at the knees with "we don't serve it after 10:30" wasn't very polite. She finally served our drinks and we sat and watched while other diners arriving after us were served. We finally received our ham and cheese and club sandwiches after a 35 minute wait. We won't return as the menu is pretty run of the mill and the sandwiches and fries were standard fare. There are too many diners to want to repeat only fair service and food. Also, we sent an email to TN magazine with a correction about their chocolate gravy available hours.
