I had the Mild BBQ Loaded Tater, and it was very delicious! However, I was unable to get extra BBQ sauce since it's already cooked into the meat. I think a little extra on top would have been nice. The service was reasonably quick. Our party did have to refill their own drinks. The ambiance was average; maybe a little on the loud side. I think the place would benefit from maybe switching from a full service model to a quick service model where customers can order from the front then get their own drinks and seats then have the food brought out to them. read more

This was the worst BBQ I have ever had. I got the stuffed potato. There was a choice between mild, medium, or hot BBQ sauce. My husband and I both requested the medium. It was like they poured red water on the plate that was flavorless. My potato was not even cooked. It was about half done and it was grey on the inside. I couldn't even eat it and it looked nothing like the picture SMH. The pulled pork tasted like it sat in water and they scooped it on to the potato without straining it. My husband ordered the pull pork plate. The menu said it came with beans and two sides. They served the food and I asked where my husband's beans were and the waitress said it doesn't come with beans. I asked for the menu and showed her where it said all plates below come with beans and 2 sides. We saw the waitress talking to another employee and they actually had a discussion about it before she would even serve them. Not to mention, this is the first BBQ place I have ever been to that serves canned beans! You get about 3 tablespoons for $2.69. What a joke. One and done. Will never go back. Sweet over pulled pork, we all just tried the pork and the medium sauce is not much heat. We had a special potato and it was huge but don't care for it when the baker takes on that off white been around a bit color. Service was quick. We picked up bbq during a visit to the lake and were unimpressed. Hubs had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the plate. Soggy buns with what tasted like crock pot pork plus the meat was way too sweet. The baked beans tasted like they came straight out of a can and also were overly sweet. The potato salad was ok but not enough to redeem the rest of the meal. Pickles and bbq sauce would've made it slightly better but there weren't any with either of our meals. read more

Finally got to try this restaurant out after visiting Dale Hollow many times in the past. They were usually always busy when I wanted to go before, ate dinner a bit early so had no problem getting in yesterday evening. I got the shredded pork with baked beans and potato salad, the meal was excellent! The bbq sauce is like drenched in the pork and to me that's what makes it very tasty and different from other bbq restaurants, you don't even need extra sauce, has plenty on it! The staff working here were all very nice and checking up to make sure we had everything we needed. Sat outside on the deck which was very nice. If you're ever in the Celina, Tennessee area and looking for some where to have good bbq for dinner, I recommend stopping here, I'd have a hard time believing you'd be disappointed! We picked up 2 sandwiches to go. Husband ate his but was not impressed. Mine was inedible. Tiny serving of mealy meat on giant bun that turned to mush within seconds because of the grease, and I'm pretty sure that sauce was just a cup of more grease on the side. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. We were told upon entering that they had none of the Thursday special left, which was what most of us wanted, and only two chicken dinners left. This was a full hour + before closing. We were served in to go trays because they had already "washed up" for the night, we asked for a spoon and was told they didn't have any disposable spoons. Employees were nice enough but not overly friendly. While we were eating, the staff started turning up chairs and closing up for the night. We felt rushed and unwanted. I routinely drive an hour to eat this barbecue. I have followed them to three different locations over the past 30 years and there is no comparable barbecue within 100 miles in my opinion. Update: Since they moved locations the quality has diminished and unfortunately, this is no longer a 5-star. It's dropped down a few notches. The BBQ here isn't fancy. In fact, everything is served in Styrofoam with plastic forks, but we came here for the BBQ not fine dining. This is perhaps some of Tennessee's best BBQ. While the sides aren't flashy (there's no corn pudding) and the decor gets an "F" - the meat earns an "A". In fact, I challenge you to find a better cooked half chicken, spare ribs, etc. The chicken is juicy, tender, flavorful and falls off the bone like you've never seen before and the spare ribs, take notice, this is how their suppose to be cooked. Yes, that good. Whether you're an out of towner or local, you'll be served with the same spoon here, your wallet won't go empty and you'll feel like you're part of the family. If I'm ever in the vicinity of this barbecue spot, and by vicinity I mean an hour or less, I'll make it a point to stop in. The shoulder is some of the best I've ever had and the pulled pork is nothing short of excellent. The pulled pork is it's own style, it is sweet with a little spice and a vinegar pop. Best BBQ sandwich I've ever tasted! Found this little gem on my way through the mountains and needed to stop for gas. Got out of the car and was overwhelmed by the aroma of BBQ. I looked to see this little log cabin with a sign that said "open". Even though it was only 9:30 am, I floated over for a taste and I was not disappointed. I asked the nice lady at the counter what smelled so good and she said it was probably the pork shoulder. I needed to keep moving, so I grabbed a sandwich for the road and decided to take my chances with the mess. That didn't really work out so well, but that sandwich was heaven! I ordered it with the Hot BBQ sauce and it was perfect! If you come within 20 miles of this place, you won't be sorry to take the time to stop in for a bite. Horrible service. Went for lunch on a Monday. Only us and one other customer. We were ignored for quite a while before our drink order was taken. Waitress never refilled our obviously empty drinks afterwards. The BBQ was disappointing. My wife's and daughters pulled pork was luke warm at best. I was never brought or offered any dressing for my side salad. I asked for it, the waitress walked off and never brought it, then five minutes later wandered over and asked if we needed anything. Uh, yeah, my ranch dressing would have been nice.... Three of us had fries or "tater twists" but there was no ketchup on the table or offered. We are in dale hollow on vacation and don't have southern accents. All of the obviously locals that came in after we were seated seemed to receive much better and friendlier service. I'm from Cincinnati, it's not like I have a New York accent, but is obvious we weren't locals. I also feel it was somewhat overpriced for the portions and quality. I have stopped in here twice in recent trips to visit family who live nearby. The food is REALLY good. I have tried the ribeye sandwich as well as the pulled pork sandwich. They were equally delicious. They also have great sides and desserts. I really enjoy their sweet tea as well. My daughter had the chicken tenders and rated them some of the worst tenders she's ever had. She is an adult and eats them often. My husband liked the pulled pork. This was a welcome stop on the way back from Dale Hollow lake. Most of the time when Bar-b-q'un I get the ribs. The ribs were a 7 on a scale of 10. Meaty, good sauce, but we're warmed up (as in microwave). The sides were good...fries and baked beans. All in all ok but not a destination stop. More like a 1 stop.
