The service was reasonably quick. Our party did have to refill their own drinks. The ambiance was average; maybe a little on the loud side. I think the place would benefit from maybe switching from a full service model to a quick service model where customers can order from the front then get their own drinks and seats then have the food brought out to them. read more

Sweet over pulled pork, we all just tried the pork and the medium sauce is not much heat. We had a special potato and it was huge but don't care for it when the baker takes on that off white been around a bit color. Service was quick. Tiny serving of mealy meat on giant bun that turned to mush within seconds because of the grease, and I'm pretty sure that sauce was just a cup of more grease on the side. Finally got to try this restaurant out after visiting Dale Hollow many times in the past. They were usually always busy when I wanted to go before, ate dinner a bit early so had no problem getting in yesterday evening. I got the shredded pork with baked beans and potato salad, the meal was excellent! The bbq sauce is like drenched in the pork and to me that's what makes it very tasty and different from other bbq restaurants, you don't even need extra sauce, has plenty on it! The staff working here were all very nice and checking up to make sure we had everything we needed. Sat outside on the deck which was very nice. If you're ever in the Celina, Tennessee area and looking for some where to have good bbq for dinner, I recommend stopping here, I'd have a hard time believing you'd be disappointed! Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. We were told upon entering that they had none of the Thursday special left, which was what most of us wanted, and only two chicken dinners left. This was a full hour + before closing. We were served in to go trays because they had already "washed up" for the night, we asked for a spoon and was told they didn't have any disposable spoons. Employees were nice enough but not overly friendly. While we were eating, the staff started turning up chairs and closing up for the night. We felt rushed and unwanted. Soggy buns with what tasted like crock pot pork plus the meat was way too sweet. The baked beans tasted like they came straight out of a can and also were overly sweet. Ironically, we had just ate lunch at Capps BBQ in Burkesville, KY, and had stopped at Dale Hollow 1 Stop to buy a fishing license when we noticed 1 Stop BBQ. After buying a one-day to trout fish the Obey River, I parked in front of the BBQ place drawing a concerned sign from my friend. "What are you doing," he said. "Aren't we headed to the river?" "We're going to lunch," I said. "Wait, we just ate lunch, didn't we?" nodded my friend. I told him to man up. These hole in the wall places make the best BBQ. From the outside, 1-Stop BBQ looks questionable. If you're from a big city you might be scared when you walk inside. This isn't a sit-down and order spot. and, there's likely going to be flies and blazing heat inside. Meanwhile, if you can look past that you might taste some of the best BBQ in the country. The BBQ here isn't fancy. In fact, everything is served in Styrofoam with plastic forks, but we came here for the BBQ not fine dining. This is perhaps some of Tennessee's best BBQ. While the sides aren't flashy (there's no corn pudding) and the decor gets an "F" - the meat earns an "A". In fact, I challenge you to find a better cooked half chicken, spare ribs, etc. The chicken is juicy, tender, flavorful and falls off the bone like you've never seen before and the spare ribs, take notice, this is how their suppose to be cooked. Yes, that good. Whether you're an out of towner or local, you'll be served with the same spoon here, your wallet won't go empty and you'll feel like you're part of the family. Best BBQ sandwich I've ever tasted! Found this little gem on my way through the mountains and needed to stop for gas. Got out of the car and was overwhelmed by the aroma of BBQ. I looked to see this little log cabin with a sign that said "open". Even though it was only 9:30 am, I floated over for a taste and I was not disappointed. I asked the nice lady at the counter what smelled so good and she said it was probably the pork shoulder. I needed to keep moving, so I grabbed a sandwich for the road and decided to take my chances with the mess. That didn't really work out so well, but that sandwich was heaven! I ordered it with the Hot BBQ sauce and it was perfect! If you come within 20 miles of this place, you won't be sorry to take the time to stop in for a bite. Horrible service. Went for lunch on a Monday. Only us and one other customer. We were ignored for quite a while before our drink order was taken. Waitress never refilled our obviously empty drinks afterwards. The BBQ was disappointing. My wife's and daughters pulled pork was luke warm at best. I was never brought or offered any dressing for my side salad. I asked for it, the waitress walked off and never brought it, then five minutes later wandered over and asked if we needed anything. Uh, yeah, my ranch dressing would have been nice.... Three of us had fries or "tater twists" but there was no ketchup on the table or offered. We are in dale hollow on vacation and don't have southern accents. All of the obviously locals that came in after we were seated seemed to receive much better and friendlier service. I'm from Cincinnati, it's not like I have a New York accent, but is obvious we weren't locals. I also feel it was somewhat overpriced for the portions and quality. I have stopped in here twice in recent trips to visit family who live nearby. The food is REALLY good. I have tried the ribeye sandwich as well as the pulled pork sandwich. They were equally delicious. They also have great sides and desserts. I really enjoy their sweet tea as well. Don't stop unless you eat pulled pork. The chicken bread sandwich was dry and tasteless. I could not eat it. My daughter had the chicken tenders and rated them some of the worst tenders she's ever had. She is an adult and eats them often. My husband liked the pulled pork. This was a welcome stop on the way back from Dale Hollow lake. Most of the time when Bar-b-q'un I get the ribs. The ribs were a 7 on a scale of 10. Meaty, good sauce, but we're warmed up (as in microwave). The sides were good...fries and baked beans. All in all ok but not a destination stop. More like a 1 stop.
