We went to Rojas Kitchen for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was nearly full, evidently a popular place for the locals. We were seated right away and brought menus by our server. The menus have lots of home cooking traditional favorites. And we stuck to those for our orders. I had the chicken fried steak ,fried squash, and pinto beans. My wife had grilled pork chop, green beans, and fried squash. We had originally ordered fried okra c but they swapped it with squash when the okra ran out. This last week we were camping up the road from Carthage. We ate 3 times in Rojas. The food kept us coming back ...... plus - on Sunday we lost track of time and walked in at 2pm - their closing time on Sunday. Romeo chased after us, brought us back in, and made us feel very welcome. I LOVE the chicken enchiladas - the sauce is amazing. We both love the fresh made salsa with the chips. The food here is AMAZING, very affordable, and a good variety to accommodate a group who want different types of food. Fried fish, dumplings, enchiladas, salads, burgers, you name it, they've got it! We stopped by on the way back from a road trip from Nashville. They definitely have better food over there but we decided to come here. Their sandwiches were pretty alright. Their patty melt however was not to my liking. It's literally like a hamburger with different bread and no toppings. Wouldn't get it again. The reuben on the other hand was pretty good. read more

It's a country, quaint, kinda like Grandma's kinda place. The staff are sweet as sugar, the food is delicious, and the price is right!

Tried Rojas on the recommendation of a local and man am I glad I did. Had the Fried Chicken Livers (cooked soft), Mac and Cheese, Okra, Corn Nuggets, Pinto Beans, and corn bread. This was the best meat and three I've had in years! I would highly recommend it, I'll even take the drive from Nashville to do it again. read more

I've been to this restaurant several times and the last few times the service has been really terrible. It took over an hour to get anything ordered and to get the food to the table. I had to go track down a waitress to finally get her to take the order after waiting on her to take the order for the first 30 minutes after our arrival. Then it was at least another 30 minutes to get our food. After another hour the bill still hadn't arrived so we had to go up front to pay. The food is good and the portions large which isn't the problem. It's the service and if you are in a group (as in a meeting) they insist on putting everyone's bill on the same ticket. I complained about this on a prior visit and was told they did it that way to "save paper". I told her that wasn't very business like and left. If I attend any other business meetings there I won't order food again. read more

Really good food but you have to get there early if you were ordering takeout, make sure you check your food before you leave to make sure you have it all. They are so busy that a lot of times they will leave something out not on purpose. Mind you but still if you get home and your children don't have their food it is not a good night. read more

Best food in Smith County by far. It's probably the best country kitchen/soul food restaurant I've ever been to. Every meat and side on their meat & 2/3 menu is top notch. Only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because NEARLY ALL of the employees are rude and uninviting. If you come in to pick up a to-go order, the waitresses at the front will look at you like you have 5 heads, won't greet you, they rarely actually grab your food for you and check you out, and they'll also continue their conversation between each other like you're not even there. Also the service is slow when they are busy, which is understandable. I also want to add that I've never been the type to write a bad review (especially on businesses in my hometown). I just hope this review is received by the owners and that a conversation is had to fix this problem. Ps. Try the hamburger steak with all the toppings and you'll be mad at yourself for not eating it sooner!! read more
