Good atmosphere & great scenery. Best fried pickles I've ever been served. My group consisted of 3 couples (6 individuals total). Even when we rarely go out for boat days (usually in priest or old hickory) we avoid packed outdoor food venues, but it wasn't too bad on a Sunday afternoon here. No wait & plenty of outdoor seating with ample space between tables. One thing all of us mask wearers noticed was that the staff & servers were not masked at all, they didn't even have masks on them, & very few of the patrons coming & going had mask on either. Must be due to the geopolitical views of the people in the area. This concerned me & I kept my mask on the entire time except while eating since the staff were not masked & walking by closely and often. I won't let that factor into the review but it needs to be noted for others who look here for guidance. There were several drink specials & food specials made known to us by our server immediately & he was quick to fill our drink orders of mango habanero bloody marys & pontoon punch which are both highly recommend by our party. I ordered some fried pickles to split up & they are very different & exceptionally good. They are slivers of pickle spears fried in a manner that resembles fried green beans. Everybody raved about them & they were gone quickly. One order was almost enough to share for 4-5 people. Half of the party ordered club sandwiches & the other half ordered burgers & fish tacos. The fish tacos were stated to be better than Sams on old hickory & as good as some served on the Florida panhandle in PCB, Pensacola, Destin etc. the club sandwich was nothing to write home about, pretty basic & fairly bland. The Mac & cheese is well above average & could make the cut of the top 10 I've had in the middle Tennessee area. IMPORTANT NOTE. THEY CHARGE A 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. If I was on the lake I'd probably come back, I'd expect to see masks on the staff though. read more

Grouper sandwich ok, chicken quesadilla ok...what wasn't ok was the chips and salsa. Salsa tastes horrible! Waitress brought the appetizer out AFTER we finished our meal. She told us it was lost and asked if we still wanted it, told her we were ok but it was brought out anyway. Very disappointed in the high dollar appetizer and dining experience. Also, why don't the servers have sections instead of taking turns with customers....seems like it would be easier to give the servers sections instead of every 3rd or 4th table, which seems like it would be difficult to keep up with. You know those summertime restaurants where kids are working the grill with their friends at a summer job and the food is way better than it has every right to be, the bar is pretty solid and it's just a marina restaurant? Well, it fits the bill AF. Sure...there's a lot of flies cause you know, marina restaurant, and it could be a little cleaner but that's the charm of these kinda places. Brunch on the dock seemed like a great way to spend Father's day with 3 couples, and for the first 5 minutes, it was. Then everything went downhill. The DJ that was hired by someone having a birthday party decided to start playing music and our ability to have a conversation was killed. We asked the waitress if they could turn it down just a little. "I'm sorry, but the DJ is not part of our restaurant so we don't have any control over what he does. Um, he is 10 feet away from the tables. The food took forever and when it did come out, it was cold. They were out of biscuits, and they forgot the silverware which we then had to wait for even longer allowing what food was still warm together cold. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is the shrimp and grits my Father in law got were excellent. I feel bad for the waitress because they were sorely understaffed for a Father's day and I'm sure her tips suffered as a result. read more

The 4 stars are purely for the experience Blue Water Grille provides. Lunch on a floating dock... yes please! The food is acceptable, albeit a bit overpriced. Great restaurant for groups. It is quite a jaunt from the parking lot to the restaurant proper. Don't be discouraged by this however, even if you have physical limitations. By land or by water, this is one of our favorite places to dine. I always find the service excellent, the food tasty and the view is unbeatable!! They did just hire brand new bartenders at the start of the season, so be patient with them. They will learn fast as its a high volume venue. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend checking it out but suggest making reservations in the weekends. read more

Only getting a 3 because our server wasn't very attentive (nice just not around much). We went for one of the summer shrimp boils. It was my first time getting to try it and it was pretty good. It's a buffet consisting of boiled shrimp, corn, and potatoes with cole slaw and hushpuppies (phenomenal hush puppies). The corn was incredible. I'm not sure what seasoning they use in the boil, but the corn kept a lot of the favor unlike the shrimp and potatoes. The shrimp was good but seemed just a tad overcooked. It helped to dip it in the drawn butter they provide. The cole slaw was also tasty. I have never had slaw with bell pepper in it, which was added in their recipe. It changed the typical slaw flavor but made it taste crisp and summery. Overall, it's definitely not a bad option for the price (18.99 per person for the buffet). Plus, it's nice enjoying a meal on the water. read more

This restaurant is literally on the water. Kind of hard to get to if you are driving in, but they have golf carts that will pick you up and take you there if you like. It was kind of dead when we arrived because of weather and the time of day, but things picked up when we left. We were greeted with a complimentary crab artichoke cheese dip that the kitchen made by mistake. This was delicious and I highly recommend it. I had blackened fish tacos and changed the side from black beans to a side salad. Great side salad and fish tacos were also great. My husband had steak quesadillas and asked for a side of cole slaw. He said the steak was tender and they were delicious! The only negative thing was the cole slaw was tiny for an extra $3. The value and food quality were excellent. We were told it was a 20 minute wait for a table, after 40 minutes we finally got sat. Once we finally got sat we waited another 20 minutes before I had to go ask the hostess if we even had a server. Apparently nobody told her, she was super apologetic, it wasn't her fault. The table sat right before us had finished their meal before we even got to order. My husband had the burger which was pretty good. I had the fish tacos, which were lacking. There is about two bites of cod in each taco. I was so hungry I would have ordered more food but we were with our baby who was fussy from sitting there almost 90 minutes by the time we actually ate. So we had to stop at the store to pick up something else to eat. This place wasn't worth the hassle for mediocre food read more

I'm a total sucker for anything on water and this has a beautiful view. Food is very good, but a bit pricey. It gets a lot of visitors from Nashville as it is one of the marinas closest to the interstate, hence a little bit more expensive??? So, restaurants in marinas work one of two ways. You look at the price, eat the food, and calculate your "waterfront" tax at 30-40%... Or the way they do it here - serve food that's actually worth what it costs. We had a club sandwich (real slabby tasty turkey and ham), sweet potato fries (about as good as any such anyplace), chicken (no complaints from the complainer), and a cheeseburger (actually cooked medium). Service at late lunch on Sunday was snappy and on the ball. Just perfect for boat dock dining. read more

This place is so nice! The food and drinks were absolutely amazing and were priced very well! Only downside was it was a little difficult to find. There are different driveways for boat ramps and we weren't sure which one to go down. Once you park you have to walk down the hill to the marina which wasn't bad. Coming back up the hill after your meal was tough but they did have employees driving golf carts who more than happy to give you a ride. We will definitely be back! read more

Eight of my girlfriends and I recently dined at BWG when we were visiting Center Hill Lake. We had a very easy time making a reservation and the hostess was patient with us when were a few minutes late and wanted to go take a few photos before being sat. The view from the marina is absolutely gorgeous - I definitely recommend going around sunset if you can. We had delicious mozzarella sticks for an appetizer along with the artichoke dip. The artichoke dip was a little disappointing because it frankly tasted like spicy queso with a few bits of artichoke.... not exactly what we were hoping for. All the meals from the chicken tenders, to the burgers, to the quesadillas (chicken & veggie) got good reviews from those who had them. I ordered the "herb roasted chicken" and was disappointed when it came out fried, not grilled. Nowhere did it mention it was a fried chicken breast. Either way, food was good & decently priced. We had some cocktails (peach sangria & hurricane) which were good, although the amount of alcohol in them is questionable. All in all, a good meal with a great view! read more

Lunch on the Lake makes for a perfect day The Bloody Mary at Blue Water Grille is a great way to start the day or start lunch. My fish tacos are wonderful with slaw and guacamole on the side. Fish was nicely grilled and a tasty remoulade sauce. My husband had the blackberry chicken salad, which was OK. The dressing on the salad was way too sweet but the chicken salad was tasty although the blackberries make it purple. All in all we'd go back again. read more

I really fancy marina restaurants, or at least the idea of them. Usually, I find that the food is pretty blah and I only accept it because I want to be on the water. So, imagine my surprise when I found this gem! The food is good, like really, really good! I would pick this restaurant if it were totally landlocked. I had the roasted chicken, which was amazing! I've always liked this restaurant however, seemingly, the previous chef has left and the food now although good is not what it was two to three years ago. This was a great find on our drive home from North Carolina. A little off the beaten path but definitely worth it. Food was great, service great, awesome wine list and beer choices. I"m a restaurant manager, and i must say, Rachel Cassetes was our server. I wish i could have videotaped her, she was absolutely perfect. VERY attentive, without being obtrusive, extremely friendly, great suggestions. We had 4 dogs with us, she fawned over all of them. We had one item, the mac n cheese, which was not up to par. She didn't even blink when we brought it to her attention. She not only replaced it, but had a great suggestion. All in all, she was a perfect balance of "real" without being the slightest bit "fake". Made us feel very welcome. Food is almost always perfect, and highly recommend. read more

While traveling stopped in for dinner because of good reviews. The view was amazing, service and food were ok.

This has always been a great place, but tonight we are not pleased. There are six vacant tables in the shade but the very rude hostess refused to seat us there because they are "reserved later tonight".... Which I really doubt. And besides, it's 4:30, it's not like it's 7:00 when the reservations are. The attitude of the hostess lacked a lot to be desired. read more

Fried pickles definitely hit the spot and the sweet potato fries with the marshmallow cream dipping sauce were fantastic.
