Crawdaddys is a place to check out in Cookeville. I got the Cajun shrimp pasta and it was decent. It didn't have the spice that was advertised in the menu and it had an enormous(!) amount of peas in the dish. Literally over 200. I stopped counting after 100. The sauce was good, I could really get the tang of the tomato base. The shrimp were juicy as well My mom and sister got the steak cooked well. They said it was cooked perfect and the okra were crispy. The sweet tea was definitely sweet and tea might have needed to boil for a bit longer. We ended up having to wait for the ice to melt down to be able to drink it with all the sugar. I'd like to go back to check out more menu options. Also, the service was great. Go somewhere else! Tried to buy a gift card from Crawdaddys West Side Grill today so I could treat family members who live nearby. What a frustrating experience. The staff was completely unwilling to help find a solution. I suggested several simple options--digital gift card, emailing proof of purchase, or even mailing it out. Nope. They also couldn't even confirm whether I could just pay for it when my family comes in. Seriously? Pretty shocking level of customer service for someone literally trying to give them business. And given all the time we needed to browse the menu. This was my first visit and the menu is extensive. By 1:45 we had made our decisions and ordered. Crawfish poboy $12. Tender fried crawfish on a hogie bun with remoulade. It was massive. I tried to eat it all but couldn't . So good. The Jack Daniels sirloin looked delicious ($23) served with a potato. The men at the table both ordered that. And ate everything. No leftovers. The last person to order was the only person who ordered from the lunch menu . Served from 11-3. Offers about a dozen options including the Shrimp and grits ($11) The food arrived in about 18 minutes. And we were paying the bill 25 minutes later. Very causal, un rushed visit. Absolutely great experience all the way around!! I went here with my son as it is a halfway point for each of us. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service was great, the food was amazing and the portions are generous! The prices are not bad, either. We started off with the crab cake appetizer which was absolutely delicious. For the main course, I had the sea bass over rice with the garlic cheddar grits and fried Brussels sprouts. The grits were not impressive, but everything else was very good! But, as good as it was, my son's was absolutely incredible! Food: We tried a bunch of apps, you know, calamari and gator bites are hard to mess up. But the goat-cheese dip? Holy cow that was the bomb! I'm sad I had to waste some of it! :( Salmon was good, almost as good as when I grill it at home! Haha. Grilling it gives it a crispness that I like, I dunno. The fries were a little soggy but the sprouts were good. Overall an awesome meal. Atmosphere: It's in the heart of downtown, really rustic inside, very cool. Chicken fettuccine alfredo was not even warm with a dried crust on the top, like it had been sitting for quite sometime. Chicken was like the processed kind you get at a fast food restaurant. Spouse ordered Bourbon glazed chicken with fried brussels. Again chicken was the processed and rubbery kind, gross. Glaze was just sugary bbq sauce of some kind with coagulated lumps in it. Brussels were covered with salt, so much they tasted like sea water and could not even eat them. Worst meal I have ever had in Cookeville. Phew, this is one is tough to write. Well, from the beginning we received poor service from our "server" Matthew. Started by waiting over 10 minutes for someone to greet us. Turned out, the person we called over to help ended up doing more for our table (plus her large party next to her) then Matt did all night. He went missing for pretty much the entire time, except of course to pick up the check as soon as he sat it drop on the table. Got our soup order wrong, even after we repeated it back to him...twice anddddd had already ordered with the female server when he went missing again. When the wrong soup came...he blamed the girl who helped him for us. It was so overdone it was stuck horribly to the shell. Embarrassed myself when fork flew awkwardly to the floor and when rice slid off plate in my attempt to remove meat from the shell. We came here on a Saturday evening November 2023. We had a group of seven and we got here at 6:00 p.m. so we were set pretty quickly. This Little Town is very nice high-end shops and restaurants. This restaurant was very cool it had a upstairs sitting area with a bar. It also have outside seating and a courtyard. And it had lots of inside seating wood big floor to ceiling windows. I ordered the catfish, brussel sprouts and potatoes. The catfish was nice and hot and very tasty with lump crab dressing on top. The potatoes were bland and cold. The menu said that they were red seasons potatoes but they had no seasoning I expect maybe have some onion or pepper but they were just potatoes. The brussel sprouts were roasted and were good but we're also lukewarm so I had them warm up my potatoes and brussel sprouts. All meals were served but the server never asked if we needed anything else. We all needed some type of cocktail sauce, tartar sauce. He did bring all of that once we requested it. I asked all the other members in our crew if the food was good I think all the fish and crab cake was good but the side dishes were very very lacking. The mac and cheese look like something from a box and the portion was tiny. The portion of grits was only the size of your palm. They did not serve any bread or rolls with the dinner. Overall the meal was passable but for $25 you would think you would get a little something that was just fantastic. We were here from out of town so we probably won't ever be coming back but wanted to do a review. The fried okra that my friend got did look good I tried a couple pieces but it was a little bit salty. I think the brussel sprouts were the best. Limited parking on the street so get here early. The sirloin was ordered medium, it came out rare but had really good flavor and a good piece of meat, baked potato was standard the okra the flavor may not have been to his liking. Stopped by here because I heard this place had gator bites and I let the waitress talk me into getting the crab cakes lol. The cakes were decent. The presentation was better than the taste. There wasn't any "lump" crab meat in them but they tasted like a fancy hush puppy. The salad garnish that shared the plate with the cakes could only be as a garnish because the salad was warm and wilting due to the temp of the plate. I ordered the lunch portion of fish and chips because the crab cakes were a little filling. The waitress told me the tartar sauce wasn't homemade but it was still tasty, whatever brand they're using. The fish sticks themselves were a little underwhelming. The breading was soggy and falling off of the meat. I really couldn't bring myself to eat them. The fries were fantastic. The waitress offered me a box for the sticks but I didn't want to take them back to my hotel room to bring them back to life. I was surprised j was still charged for them since I only ate the fries, but I know sometimes the servers won't bother to make sure the customer is completely satisfied. The drink was a makeshift cocktail I just asked for. They had $5 Tito drinks that day, and a rotating special menu for the week, that was dope.
