We visited the Creekview Restaurant at Defeated Creek Campground and Marina on Friday, July 22nd 2016.
as we have been doing for years.
But this occasion was completely different t han in the past. The girls were working hard as they always have, but something drastic has changed. Management? Ownership? Cost-cutting?
I am not sure what happened, but we had a party of seven and was seated at 6 o'clock. It took 20 minutes to get get tea and water and order. At 7:20 we finally started getting our orders which were incomplete.
5 of us ordered the"All you can eat Catfish".
Our first plate consisted of 1 small filet sliced into 3 small pieces. Our tea was watered down ( they had already run out of tea). We never received some of our side items, and when we asked for more Catfish, they informed us that they turned in our order and would be out shortly. We noticed that some of the customers had not received any of their fish and were leaving. One older gentleman went to the kitchen, looked in and shrugged his shoulders in frustration be him and his wife left.
At 10 minutes after closing, we gave up and left.
The sign should have read "3 nuggets is All you can get Catfish ".
I stopped in Saturday morning to get ice rather than to drive 4 miles each and the owner/ manager was there as well as the cashier from the night before.
The cashier then informed me that they had run out of fish Friday night but they have some now.
My first question was why didn't someone tell us instead of letting us sit there for 50 additional minutes waiting?
I asked the manager since they dropped the ball so badly, could we try again tonight (Saturday 23rd) on the all you can eat now that they have fish?
Her answer, No!
We have always had breakfast there and dinner during our twice a year camping trips,
There are usually 11 of us that get together twice a year for camping at Defeated.
We will continue our camping as always, but the Marina/ Restaurant has lost 11 long term customers.
1 suggestion would be to prepare to have fish if you plan on serving it.
The next suggestion would management training for the owner/manager.
