I also tried their daily special as well, as well as their egg flower soup. Still good service, but not a lot of ambiance. I like that their daily special is basically a greatest hits of their best dishes. This would be the dish to try if you didn't know where to start. Don't forget the orange sauce.

My Daughter and I had lunch other day, it had been awhile since being here because last time food was not at all like it used to be .I'm a long time lok Yaun customer used to come from out of town to old one when I was a kid and even after being a adult and living here we would dine here or get take out . This visit the food was good, much better than last time we had eaten here .The egg flower soup was still good :) we used to call it the cure all soup if we were sick and would pick some up to go .this time tho I was worried how I was going to feel after eating lunch due to , the dining area it is full of their inventory boxes, which to me is not eye appealing and gives not clean vibes. They really should make a wall or something to hide that , Our waitress was friendly and on top of making sure if we needed anything. Unfortunately probably won't go back for awhile or at least not until it gets a good cleaning and maybe few updates. Hopefully lok Yaun owners see this and make a few changes don't want to see this place fail.

Honestly, thank god for authentic Chinese food…read more This is the best place you go to in Eugene for delicious handmade dumplings and noodles. Came in mid-afternoon on the weekend and the place was busy. We were seated immediately and received our food ~10 mins after ordering. We ordered the spicy and sour beef noodle soup, veggie dumplings, and scallion pancakes. There is an option to adjust the spice and numbing levels to your dishes. The food came out steaming. The veggie dumplings were flavorful and the wrapping was just thick enough to make 10-dumplings a hearty meal. The taste profile is similar to what you'd find in Northern China, and there is chili oil/vinegar/soy sauce at the table for you to make your own sauce. Scallion pancakes were deep-fried and on the thin side. They were more oily than the homemade ones I'm used to, but the crunch and flavor on them were nice. The sour and spicy beef noodle soup (opted spicy and numbing) was yummy. You can tell the noodles were handmade and they had a good bite to them. The beef was tender, the bok choy was a nice refreshing balance to the bold flavors of the dish, and the tea egg was a nice addition. The soup was quite sodium-heavy and oily, but the flavor was quite authentic and still yummy with the numbing spice kicking in towards the end. The interior is clean and has a viewing window at the front where you can see dumplings being made in real time.

Grad day but came early while the ceremonies were still going on. Able to get a seat for 6 for lunch right away. Casually elevated interior. Friendly and direct staff. - pork wonton in spicy sauce - their version of chili wonton. Very flavorful and not too spicy - sichuan spicy dry noodle - mala spice which numbs the mouth a little but not overbearing - sweet and sour pork - I always order this dish. It does come on the saucier side so I recommend a side bowl of rice

The menu threw us a little at first, but the staff more than made up for it. They walked us through the options, suggested dishes, and helped us figure out the right portions for our group instead of just letting us over-order. That kind of attentiveness at midnight says a lot. The space is small and clean with a handful of indoor seats -- not somewhere you'd linger, but exactly what we needed. And the food was genuinely good, especially considering we were ordering from a limited late-night selection. If you're passing through and hungry after hours, this is a solid stop.

Not sure what to expect and with zero people in the restaurant, we trusted the Yelp reviews and proceeded to order a takeout meal. I'll just say that the food has a depth and complexity not found in most American Chinese restaurants (Jade Dumpling excepted). The dishes are still American style (to my uninformed mind), but ELEVATED, as they like to say on TV cooking competitions. Prices are reasonable if not very fair. I don't think anyone could be disappointed. Give them a go.

There some traditional organ dishes that are hard to find outside larger Asian communities. The lamb hot pot is especially delicious and brings serious spice. The space is a former fast-food restaurant, so it's plain but perfectly functional. The food is the reason to come and it delivers every time. The woman at the counter is always friendly and welcoming. There's a steady stream of takeout orders but the lunch specials are a great value and worth dining in for, especially since the included soup is dine-in only. If you're in South Eugene and craving flavorful Chinese comfort food, I highly recommend it. (I don't rate delivered food since the restaurant can't control what happens after it leaves the kitchen. For the best experiences, dine in or pick it up yourself.)
