I noticed on the website right away that sundara had construction going on. So when I called to reserve I asked right away exactly How the construction would affect our stay. They assured me that where we were going to be staying they wouldn't be working and that all the work was being done on the way opposite side of the resort. So I went Ahead and gladly paid $577 for my over night stay and couples massage. The room was awsome and the massages were great! But then to get woken up at 7:30am with loud banging literally right next door was frustrating. I think it's great your trying to imprOve and expand but then be honest with me and I would have waited to spend my $577 when the construction was over. My friend works construction everyday and took today (Monday) off of work to get away and relax with me and we dealt with it the whole time. Also I think it's pretty unsanitary to have the breakfast food literally NEXT to rooms that are being worked on. I could see dust coming from a room very close to wear all the fruit and other food was laying out.

We enjoyed the bath ritual, the outdoor hot tub, and the indoor hot soak tub. The bath ritual hot tub could have been a little warmer. There were hardly any quiet spaces in the spa areas and no one enforced keeping spaces quiet and tranquil despite the signs everywhere. For such an expensive resort, there were some things that really surprised us. Most of the staff were friendly, but it wasn't the caliber of customer service we were expecting. Our room was just ok. We liked the high ceilings, the comfy sitting area, the bed, Kohler shower, and the fireplace. A light flickered next to the bed, preventing us from reading in bed because we had to keep it turned off. The bathroom didn't have nearly enough hooks for suits and robes. The bathroom felt tired and didn't seem very clean. There was even a plastic wrapper on the shower floor. The toilet paper quality was surprisingly poor. The magnifying mirror wouldn't stay in place, and the hairdryer barely worked. This was unacceptable at these prices per night. We had fun, but it was very expensive for the quality of the experience.

The cabin was dirty on arrival: dust, dead bugs, trash under the bed, dirty bedding, and a strong musty odor. The outdoor space was no better -- the deck was covered in animal feces we had to clean, the yard was overgrown, the fire pit unusable, and mosquitoes made the space miserable. Inside, we found dangerously overloaded outlets and endured a nearly two-hour power outage caused by the owner's appliance. This was not the safe, comfortable, or enjoyable stay we expected at the price paid. We contacted the management company three times afterward with photos and a fair request for partial compensation. Each time, they refused to take responsibility, offering only excuses and dismissive responses. Travelers: expect a dirty, neglected property with zero support if issues arise. Owners: beware -- your property and reputation are at risk with this company. Many management firms care about guests and homes. Sadly, Sand County Service Company is not one of them. We purchased a vacation in Wisconsin Dells for $200 that included 3 nights, $150 towards attractions, and tickets to Mt Olympus for all 4 days. We were obligated to spend 2 hours in a presentation for a timeshare at Christmas Village. I thought that was fair deal. When I called to confirm the trip they sold us an upgrade to a 1-bedroom suite at a Mt Olympus property that contained a kitchenette and laundry facilities for $300. And that's where it gets interesting. We checked in at the Welcome Center and selected our attractions and dinner vouchers. We also got the voucher for the suite at Mt Olympus. We then headed over to the hotel. When we got to the "resort" they stated they don't have any suites. They have standard rooms with 2 queen beds. This is not at all the upgrade we purchased, so we went back to the BlueGreen Welcome Center to fix this. Josh was very helpful. But it was just after 4:30 on a Sunday and the customer service center had just closed. There was nothing that could be done. Josh have us the customer service number and contacted his manager, Lyndsey, for assistance. Still, nothing could be done today, so we went back to the "resort" and checked into the standard room. (See my Yelp review of Mt Olympus) I called the next morning and customer service said they would move us to another location. Well, we had already planned our day and time was tight. At this point, we decided to stay in the room, but we wanted a refund of the upgrade, since we didn't get what we purchased. Customer service initially offered a $150 cash gift card for our troubles. But that's not a refund. I would still be out $150 for nothing. Then he upped it to $200 and wouldn't budge. So now I'm out $100 for an upgrade we never got!?! Really, that's all they could do?? I reminded him that we still had a presentation to attend and if they don't make it right with a full refund of $300 I will be sure to tell everyone about this!! And I was dead serious!! The rep said he will see what he can do then call me in about an hour. He called back with the same $200 offer. Well, that wasn't going to work so my next step was to bring it up at the group presentation later that day. We checked into the Welcome Center at Christmas Mountain. This looked like a very nice property so we were interested in seeing it. We were early. Lyndsey greeted us and said they are working on a resolution. I politely told her she had 10 minutes until the presentation started to get this resolved. She came back in a few minutes with a full refund of the $300 we paid. She then excused us from the presentation and said we didn't have to attend. (I think they didn't want me in there telling anyone about of the $300 non-existent upgrade they sold me). So we left without seeing the property. So, there you have it. BlueGreen sold us any idea de to a hotel that doesn't have the kind of room they promised. But they made it right with a refund (after a strong battle with customer service and my PROMISE to talk about it the group presentation). So my rating is 1 star for the initial bait and switch experience and another star because they made it right (after a fight).

Our children ranged age 1 - 5 on this trip and we had six adults. We have been to multiple water parks and attractions, our two most recent being Cedar Point Shores and Zehnder's Splash Village. Overall we enjoyed our visits to the waterparks here at Kalahari Wis Dells. We had a weekend pass that also included entrance to Timbavati Wildlife Park. The outdoor waterpark was a decent size, offering the expected attractions as well as nice features like a standard swimming pool. Over our weekend we didn't have any issues finding seating and found amenities like food and drink within a comfortable proximity. Our little ones found a lot of enjoyment in the smallest play area, and inclusions such as the swings over the water helped mix it up. A foam party appeared more than once which was a fun additional activity to enjoy for all ages. Our only criticism of the outdoor park was the pool water was extremely, extremely cold. Typically the outdoor waterparks don't feature heated water but whatever was going on here was super tough to enjoy. The indoor waterpark became our preferred space as the water was warmer and there were more activities for the kids in our group. There was more of a mid-level kids area (our 3, 4, and 5 year olds really enjoyed) here as well as a larger smaller kids (1 year and even the 3-5) area. Us adults enjoyed the swim-up bar and some of the slides. My wife and I found time to do the 'Master Blaster' raft slide which was a quick thrill dropping from the very top of the building. Food options across both parks were plentiful and we were able to find something for everyone. Transitioning between parks was a breeze too, as the entrances to both are just a short hallway walk across from each other. The biggest flaw we noticed between the two parks was the towel situation. Both days towels 'ran out' in the afternoon which I would wager causes guests to check out as many towels as possible in the morning which in turn causes the towels to run out. A vicious cycle that may be a process worth revisiting. Design question - why is the lazy river connected to and passes through the wave pool? The lazy river and the wave pool are contradictory adrenaline levels. Weird. All that action really amplified the amount of people pushing, jumping, splashing, and swimming through the lazy river which really detracts from the experience. The gigantic conference center provided a great refuge to take my youngest on a long stroller nap. The conference space is almost comically large and was completely empty on our trip. The theming was excellent and the area was in great condition. Again, all and all we had a great family trip to both water parks and enjoyed our time on this property.

Full disclosure booking here was an accident, I actually meant to book wilderness but had a stroke…read moreand not only booked here instead but selected a non refundable booking. Oh well. My Wisconsin coworker assured me that Kalahari and wilderness were interchangeable. Primary plans were for June but terrible weather in the Wisconsin and Chicago area for the 48 hours of our intended arrival made the trip impossible. I was able to cancel and get refunded for everything except Kalahari. Which is kinda fucked up because weather shit Is considered an act of God. I have no doubt I could have gotten a refund with the credit card but figured it would be less of a headache to just change the dates later in the summer. Fortunately, Kalahari was able to accommodate that. They wouldn't, however, give me a credit. They required the actual dates which didn't feel very customer service oriented-y. GF's birthday felt like an appropriate time to reschedule so I scrambled to get everything else required (flights, etc) sorted out to ensure the new dates would work. Contrary to some of the reviews I see, there was literally zero issue with check in. It took less than five minutes even though I was not able to use the self service kiosk because of the little date change situation. We stayed in the main resort which I would highly recommend. It was very convenient to be able to pop up to the room to charge something or grab something we forgot. First encounter after check in was weird. I went to get a coffee and ordered a cold brew. I asked if they had oat milk and the guy behind the counter was confused "you want to buy a bottle of oat milk? We don't have that" um.... no.... I just stared at him unsure how to respond. Milk in coffee isn't a foreign concept as far as I'm aware. He tried to tell me cold brew doesn't ever have milk in it. He called over another staff member. I asked if there was a milk station like in standard Starbucks and they said no. After a lot of back and forth eventually someone acted like they were doing me a huge favor by pouring a little oat milk in my cold brew. I would have wanted some sweetener as well but I was not about to push it. We made our way to the outdoor park which was underwhelming. There is a normal pool, a kiddie pool, another area that looks like a pirate ship conglomeration with some slides and other pouring water down things. There is another slide surrounded by an outdoor lazy river that was closed on that particular day. I don't recall if the side was open at that time. Not too much to do here so we made our way inside. This was where the rubber met the road, so to speak. Much more shit in here. There was that thing you can "surf" on that I was not about to do. There was a lazy river, small slides for little kids, I want to say maybe three structures that housed one to two or three slides for adults. There was also one hot tub and an area where you can shoot basketballs. There was also a swim up bar. They were very aggressive about checking ids but didn't check mine so I guess I look like an old hag. Overall it was just not as much as I was expecting for some reason. I was impressed by the cleanliness. Not that it was squeaky clean but I felt like a water park could definitely be worse. They do have cabanas you can rent. We rented ours on day of (a Monday in August) for $300 for the day. It was really nice to have a place to chill outside of the hustle and bustle of the park. We also had our own server, couches, waters, and a tv. It was really nice. We got pretty much a basic room in the main resort. No view whatsoever. The size was decent and included a mini fridge which was nice. The bathroom was small but the toilet flush was very mighty, much appreciated. The beds were SO comfy and plenty, very fluffy pillows were provided. Nothing like the flat, shit you would find in a civil war soldier's coffin bullshits one gets at most hotels. Thermostat worked well. My main complaint about the room was that the water pressure in the shower was ABYSMAL. It was literally like a sprinkler. When you spend time in yucky water park water you need a good hose down afterwards. If you have thick hair, forget it. It takes so long for that sprinkler ass water to penetrate its like not even worth it. This alone is a reason I would look to stay elsewhere in the future. If you don't have thick hair or don't care then it's a non issue. Oh, house keeping was great too. They took care of us and provided an abundance of towels. Probably doesn't come as a surprise but this place is absolutely crawling with children. The number of times I was pushed, bumped into, shoved into a wall, splashed, screamed next to made the lazy river basically untenable and degraded the experience in general. What can you expect from a water park though?

We couldn't decide out of the two experience which one to do so we did a double feature. We come into the building on the 4th of July and there is an information desk because the place is loaded with other things to do at the resort. We get to the Take Flight and wait in line until it's time for us to go in. It was a bit of a wait because a group before us had just gone in. We did the Space Flight first. WOW is all I can say! I don't want to give it away but I would recommend the experience. It's full of surprises. We really enjoyed Space Flight. Then we unfortunately had to stand in line again for Wonders of the American West. That wait was even longer. We enjoyed that experience too. We got our pictures taken by a photographer for both experiences and we took advantage of their picture offerings after we were done to remember the experience. The one thing that needs improvement is that you have to be weighed before getting access to the line (which is fine). You have to be less than 325 pounds. There is a red light/green bright circular light on a tall pole right above the scale for everyone to see. It's embarrassing if you step on and it turns red for no entry. That should be moved so only the attendant can see. No one should have anxiety about people seeing if you get a green light or red light. Next we were hungry so we stopped at the Camp Social Burger Bar. Many were hanging out at the bar and the food looked pretty good so we decided to get the Burger BBQ which is an angus beef patty with cheese, bacon and onion strings with bbq sauce. It came with homemade potato chips. Hubby got a pina colada mocktail and they decorated it so pretty with the 4th of July colors and decorations. I must say the burger, chips and the drink were divine. We sat in the seating they have and just chilled which was nice. They have so many other eating places and a candy shop. We really enjoyed our experience there and highly recommend. Thank you Wilderness at the Resort. A+ in our books!
