On August 14, 2025, I suffered a serious injury at Fox Hill RV Resort due to unsafe conditions and a lack of communication from staff. While the grounds of the resort are nice, the safety standards and staff response were unacceptable. On Thursday, August 14th, a member of my group informed staff that the inflatable waterslides appeared slightly deflated. The staff's only response was that someone would be coming on Friday to look at them. No warnings were given to campers about avoiding the inflatables, and no signs were posted to restrict their use. Later that day, I went down the inflatable slide. Because it was partially deflated, I slid down at an awkward angle into very shallow water. The pond also had a raised, turf-like surface at the bottom that created a bump. When I hit the bottom, my foot twisted, and I broke my ankle. The staff response to my injury was extremely concerning. The manager stayed in the office and did not come to help. Instead, a child around 12 or 13 years old was sent to assist, but they were not able to provide any help. Another camper (not part of my group) and my boyfriend ended up helping me out of the water and onto a bench so I could elevate my foot. When my boyfriend's mother asked staff for crutches or basic first aid supplies, they had nothing available. The only suggestion was to use a shuffleboard stick as a crutch, which was flimsy and unusable. No staff member brought ice, took down any details of the incident, or checked in on me. It was another camper (not staff) who eventually brought me ice for my ankle. With no assistance from the resort, my boyfriend had to drive me to the hospital, where I was diagnosed with a broken ankle. Because it was late and raining, we returned to the campground that night, but had to cut our trip short and go home the next day. At no point did staff follow up, take notes, or even come to the cabin to see if I was okay. To this day, I have not heard anything from Fox Hill--no apology, no acknowledgement, and no offer of assistance regarding the situation that happened. This entire experience showed a clear lack of safety protocols, communication, and basic first aid support at Fox Hill RV Resort. The inflatables were left in unsafe condition despite prior notice, there were no warnings to guests, and the staff failed to respond properly after my injury. read more

I would love to say we'd recommend Fox Hill as we've been here for family reunions for the last 4 years (after my husband growing up coming here). But after experiencing "the owner's mom" yelling at my teen playing at the playground, I'll have to pass and suggest a new family reunion location. For what it's worth: I was standing chatting with family as my son was on the seesaw. If she disliked him playing on it, there's an appropriate way to speak to: a. Children (who are worthy of respect) b. Customers. Screaming at them and aggressively speaking to the parents is a bad way to run a business. I was more than willing to overlook the increased prices year over year, the less than great bathrooms, + smoking at the new arcade (which is open randomly at best)...but absolutely unwilling to overlook the way people are treated. Hopefully a discussion is had moving forward so other teens feel welcome to be outside + play amongst their far younger cousins. read more

This is a nice and quiet, family owned RV park. Most of the sites are nicely covered by the tall trees, but there are some sites with no shade if that's what you're looking for. There's not a lot of activities or amenities during the week, but with the pool and the pedal cars, you'll have some options. If you're just here for peace and quiet, which is why we came, this is your spot. We loved that we could just relax in our RV rental or enjoy a meal on the picnic bench. The pool was nice, and late in the summer afternoon, a shade casts across in the perfect way. A few downsides, trash & recycling want picked up all week, so the dumpsters were overflowing. When we saw a digger pull up, it just attempted to stuff the trash in tighter. You could smell the trash 75 yards out, but they didn't want to do anything about it. Also, everyone has their own opinions about COVID, and we should be respectful of how others feel. So when we simply, kindly asked, "What are your COVID precautions?" and were met with, a very defensive, "We can't control others," and "We just do things different around here." We were taken a little off guard. Truth is, they have sanitizer at the office, and around the bathrooms. We just wish they could've responded more calmly. read more

Have to pay upfront for the full stay. Plans changed and no refund allowed. I was given a credit to use by end of season, park was closing for winter two weeks later. We were leaving state. Lost my money and couldn't get a return call for a question I had about another reservation. Left 4 messages and never got a return call. Stay away. read more

We enjoyed all of the extras this campground had to offer. Everything was clean, grounds were nice, and the pools and pond were available for use. The store had plenty of gifts for kids, as a adults we enjoyed the scooped ice cream. The staff were also friendly and helpful. The Ho-Chunk Casino is down the road and Wisconsin Dells was close enough when we wanted to go out to dinner. We saw a lot of families and kids of all ages who looked like they were having fun. The only drawback would be how close the sites are together. If there had been someone next to us with a slide out I think our awning would've been almost touching it. Luckily the next site wasn't being used so just something to keep in mind when looking at site locations. We definately plan on staying here again and bringing the grandkids next time! read more

We had the best weekend at Fox Hill. Our group consisted of 2 adults and 6 teens. The teens had a blast swimming in the pond and jumping off the inflatables! As well as playing the giant games...connect 4 was a favorite! We enjoyed the live music on Saturday night. There was so much more that we wanted to do but ran out of time! Recommend against booking at Fox Hill if you are traveling from outside the area. Pay extra close attention to their cancellation policy - the worst we have encountered at any campground anywhere in the country. We made a reservation for four nights several months ago. At that time we were 100% certain that we would make this trip, 1000 miles from our home. We paid the full cost of the four nights understanding that this was nonrefundable. However, an unexpected family medical situation has arose and as a courtesy we notified the campground that we MAY not be able to make the trip. The campground's cancellation policy does allow credit for use sometime later in the year. Since we live so far away, we let the campground know that if we were unable to travel to Wisconsin in 2024, we would hope to do this trip next summer - so we reasonably ask if we could carry our credit over to 2025. They said no, and proceeded to cancel our reservation without our consent. So they have our $400 and will be able to rent the campsite to someone else and make more money. Unfair and unprofessional. read more

Pros: Staff are great, bathrooms are very clean, great for nature lovers, pet friendly, cabins are very nice and clean (stayed in one last year). Cons: Internet is terrible (great connection strength but can't load anything 90% of the time), no cell reception (AT&T), showers are very dated and rusting, no cable or over the air TV channels found, sites are very small which is okay until the place gets full; then you get to know your neighbors really well as they are literally a few feet away from you. read more

I elected not to stay here as my deposit was not refundable, AT ALL. 24-48 hours ahead fine, a week - a portion, fine. But the whole thing?? This, for a Sunday night is unacceptable. 3 families got together after 14 years and we decided to stay at Fox Hill RV Park. We got 3 of the deluxe cabins, one for each family. The cabins were very clean, and had enough room for all of us (4 in one, 6 in another and 2 in another). Helen, Justine and the rest of the staff was great. We had so much fun, we decided to stay an extra night! This is close enough to the Dells to go there, but far enough away to avoid the crowds. I would highly recommend! read more

We stayed at Fox Hill for 5 nights while visiting family in Madison. It happened to be Labor Day weekend so it was packed. This campground was well maintained, clean bathrooms and quiet hours were enforced. We weren't interested in WI Dells stuff but spent our time hiking, kayaking and enjoying the sights of Devils Lake and Mirror Lake. Lots of shade but sites are too close together in the old section. My husband and I recently booked one night in a deluxe cabin. It was in a great location since we spent the day hiking Devils Lake and the evening in the Dells. The campground was right in between them and very convenient. The cabin was surprisingly very clean and tidy. I always expect cabins to be crawling with spiders and whatnot, but this had none! The cabins are also equipped with heating and air conditioning so we were comfortable the entire time. Here's the main reason for the 5 star rating. In the morning my husband I woke up early and were ready to leave by 7:30. We went out to start our car and ....nothing happened. Stranded, we went back inside the cabin and called the emergency Fox Hills number available. Helen answered right away and in 10 minutes Jim was out there with his vehicle and a jump for us. We tried paying him because he went out of his way to assist us, but refused. Such a great guy and such nice people that run Fox Hills. We will be back again for sure! read more

Last night we stayed at Fox Hill for the first time. We are tent campers, so spending the night at an RV park, with mostly RVs and campers, was an interesting and entertaining experience. When we rolled in, there was some kind of group event going on in the middle of the campground. A huge crowd had formed to watch several people dress up as cowboys with fake horses. The crowd was roaring with laughter and while it had a quaint appeal, it also felt akin to a Griswold family stop on the way to Wallyworld. After setting up camp, we strolled over to the large chess boards and bean bag toss to play some games before dark. This was a fun amenity for our group. And fireflies buzzed around us, which was super cool. Our stroll around the grounds revealed a lot of closely situated campsites with many seemingly extroverted groups of people having parties under colorful tiki lights. With the close proximity of campsites, our group sat by the campfire listening to loud people and random electric bug zappers for most of the night. The same loud neighbors kept us up as they partied late. All of this is to say that if you are in the mood for a quiet and nature-filled camping experience, Fox Hill probably isn't the place for you. But if you like camping in the midst of lots of people and RVs, then give this place a whirl. One final thing to note: the bathrooms were super clean and definitely way better than most campground bathrooms I've used. All around, the grounds are very clean. read more

I have stayed at many commercial campgrounds in the last few months and I have to say I am a little disappointed in Fox Hill. Service is five star, the grounds are beautiful but the showers leave a lot to be desired. They have the same nasty push the button and get hot water for just over a minute and it stops! Repeated pushes to get a hot shower are frustrating because you don't have long enough to get wet and soap up. I suffered the same kind of shower two nights ago in a state park campground. But this in a commercial one? What was worse is the shower stall is very small and drainage is poor so water backs up in the drain and stays there.The least they can do is get rid of the button and allow for a decent amount of water flow for a good shower(not to mention enlarging the size of the shower stalls) read more

Don't believe any of the other reviews. They must have been written by campground management. Campsites are the smallest I've ever seen! Not even room to sit around your own campfire without being on top of your neighbors. This place is noisy beyond belief. If you're bringing screaming kids and barking dogs, you'll fit right in. read more

We liked that it was a little removed from the Dells, yet close enough. Nice people, clean and well maintained sites/cabins, we would easily go back. Can't think of a reason to not give 5 stars, if anything the free wifi, swimming pool, volleyball, and giant chess/checkers games all solidify the rating ;) read more

Great campground with lots of fun stuff for the kids. Our 11yo and two 13yos LOVED the artificial but lovely swimming pond, with sandy beaches and beach chairs for the grown ups and huge inflatables for big kids to climb on and jump from. The water is dyed green but is very clean and pleasant to swim in. We also loved the pool, the games, the playgrounds and zones for basketball and Gaga ball and so on - and the calm nature surrounding the park. We had a basic tent site which was great, the only thing we missed was a sink for doing dishes - but when I asked the very friendly owners about this they said they were thinking of putting one in. So if you're in a tent just be ready to heat your own water and do dishes by your tent. The campground filled up on the weekend - lots of happy, friendly groups of families and friends. We hope to return next summer! read more

Very, very disappointed in this park. Read all the good reviews and booked our sight. Drove 4 hours in bad traffic and storms. Arrived at 12:30 . Check in is at 2:00. Site was empty and ready. Had not been occupied the previous night (per neighbors). We were told we had to pay $10.00 to go to our site early. When I asked why the surly check in girl told me it was a prep fee to get the site ready early!! I don't like dishonesty. I was told by the owner their was a message in my confirmation email about early check in. I went back and Check the email. The check in fee is in tiny print at the bottom. We've camped all over the United States and never, ever had an early check in fee. No good will on the Fox Hill owners. DO NOT STAY HERE read more

PERFECT WEEKEND!!!! This family owned campground is the best place I've camped in the Dells, and I've been to at least 5 campgrounds in the Dells area. It is 15 minutes from Devil's Lake, and I recommend camping somewhere more intimate than the huge state park sites. It is also 5-10 minutes from Mirror Lake/Baraboo/Lake Delton. SITES: This is mostly an RV park, but there is a secluded segment/road just for tents, which is what our group did. We had three sites for 9 people. Two cars per site. It was a bit tight for the cars, but all the tents fit nicely. There was decent tree coverage for shade. Firepits and picnic tables were good. Electric hookup and water spigots for each site. The store has essentials plus some, but there is also a BP one block away with lots of options for coffee/beverages/ice/snacks. STAFF: Wow, the staff is AMAZING. I arrived on Friday night Memorial Day weekend at 1 AM in the rain, and a staff member on patrol stopped to help pitch the tent. Then the next day my car battery died, and the mechanic was there in 10 minutes to jump it. They are super nice, friendly, and very accommodating. I will definitely be going back because I know it will be a good experience. Activities are fun.There was a tie-dying activity one morning, so my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed that, the activities are not just for the kids. VISITORS: Fellow campers/RVers were respectful for the most part. It seemed very much like a community and seemed like everyone was having a great time. The place is spread out enough to be listening to music (at a decent volume) and conversing into the late hours. Just don't blast your music and you're fine. PICNIC/PLAYGROUND AREA: The picnic area is a decent size and right smack in the middle of the park. Huge shelter with picnic tables and built in grills. Very large clearing for frisbee, football etc. Also a playground/bball court(small) and volleyball net. Seems like the kids occupy this area during the day, adults at night. BATHHOUSE: Hotel quality bathhouse almost!! This large bathhouse has three showers. Each stall has a changing/storage area plus another curtained shower area. Showers have a push faucet that only lasts about 30 seconds though, but good temperature/pressure. Very private, easy to navigate, comfortable, and clean. There are 4 toilet stalls. The sink area has three huge sinks with faucets that STAY on. Huge mirror, lots of room for everyone, plus outlets on the ceiling soffit for hair dryers. If you like a good time in the Dells that is not annoying and touristy, Fox Hill is the place to go. read more

The campground is very well kept up and the staff are friendly. The sites are pretty close together. The sites that are not drive thru are close together, yet in a well wooded area. For some reason, the fire ring for my site was right next to the road? Used the ring at the unoccupied site behind me. I would go back, but I'd choose a different site. read more

Terrific campground for families! I have been to a number of campgrounds in the Dells area, and this is the best value for your money. Extremely clean, quiet, and the staff is amazing. I was so impressed with how polite and friendly everyone was, and how they are always patrolling the grounds. There is a nice heated pool (much warmer than the average, which is a bonus for kids!) and lots of games on site. You do have to pay a rental fee for game equipment though. Nice beach volleyball court and open, grassy playground area. Great pull-through sites with full hookups. Some sites are sloped, so ask ahead of time if you have a long rig. Bonus: great BP station down the road with good beverage selection and supplies; also able to buy wood for $1 a bundle down the road. read more

The campground is clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were clean as well. They have a nice large playground for kids. The store was well stocked with the basics and some extra items. We didn't get a chance to get in the pool but it looked nice. We did have a problem with the Wi-Fi. We could not get our phones or laptops to connect. We notified the office and I think they reported it to their network provider. It never did work for us with our phones or laptops. Our site was small. My vehicle and trailer barely fit in the pull through site. Other than that, staff was friendly and we have an ok time. They do have a lot of cabins in rustic settings. I would return there the next time we are heading out that way. read more

My friends and I rented out 2 cabins for the weekend and had the perfect fall getaway in the woods! The cabins are cozy & very clean, and the campground comes stocked with swing sets/play areas for kids, board games for all ages, and plenty of picturesque views! With the adjoining golf course and close proximity to Wisconsin Dells, plus the ample campfire pits, it's super easy to spend a whole trip here. Would definitely recommend!! read more

My wife and I are on a cross country tour and happened upon Fox Hill RV Park & Campground. My first reaction was a very nice, clean and woodsy campground. Located just 5 miles off I90 it's a great place to pull in for an over night. Gravel roads and sites and a very well maintained campground, I would recommend this park for the weary traveler. Nice attractions close by including a casino just down the road. The reason for 4 and not 5 stars there is no cable and over the air channels are non existent. read more

We made a reservation almost 3 months in advance of our stay at Fox Hill Rv Park. We were confirmed for a 1 night stay on a "Premium Pull-Thru, Full Hookup" site. We have a 34 ft Class A, towing a Jeep. With that said, upon arrival we were told that none of the sites were long enough to accommodate us with the Jeep, which we had to unhook. We ask specifically for a site long enough to not have to unhook for an overnight-this should have been disclosed at the time of booking. The sites are very tight, not level with barely enough room to park vehicle. There was NO TV ( not just no cable-I mean no channels found) OR INTERNET!! NOTHING for our $55! The showers are dated, filthy, metered and cold water! We were EXTREMELY unhappy with this campground and WOULD NOT recommend to anyone! Do yourselves a favor and go down the street 1 mile to the Casino campground-we wish we did! read more

Relaxing and fun for families. It is very tidy and impeccably maintained. Kids have a great time playing at the playground and swimming and riding bikes around the gravel roads. We stayed in a deluxe cabin which was perfect for us novice campers! They were outfitted with a little kitchen and bathroom and sleeping for up to six! I am already thinking about our next camping trip! The nice thing about this campground is that you can be a novice camper or someone with small children and rent a cabin, or stake out your tents at a more fringe plot to have a slightly more secluded experience. And if you have an RV, well, you will have lots of other RVers to commune with! Super friendly staff too! read more

Fox Hill is great! Its a great place for family gatherings, just outside all the chaos of the Dells. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the park and its facilities are clean and well kept and there are tons of activities for families. The kids enjoyed the pool, frisbee golf, giant chess set, etc. Overall, I would recommend this campground to anyone! You can't find anything better in the area! read more

This park is typical private camp ground. If you have ever been to state parks or national parks, this place won't meet your expectations. The sites are close together, which is typical. You normally get the white people that vacation at private campgrounds and that's pretty much it for diversity. Expect to be around the $50,000 plus campers that are as big as a mobile home. Everything is at a cost, especially the activities. The wifi, which is a stupid thing to have when your on a CAMPING vacation, is spotty at best. On a plus for the camp ground: Anyone who does want to camp here, please be decent people. The employees have a hard time as it is with the crazy and outlandish demands of the other nut jobs that vacation here. Be nice and understanding that they are doing their best but still have to follow the businesses policies. There is an early check in fee if you do decide to come in early. Not bad though. But some people make such a huge deal over it and they expect the employees to change the rules for them. If they bend the rules then everyone would expect the same for them. Policies are in place for a reason. Please be curtious of the other campers because they are paying for what the camp ground says is a "quiet and relaxing" vacation. The location is great if you need to go to Wisconsin Dells, if your into that sort of thing. But if your not into either touristy water parks and theme parks or hiking and other outdoorsy activities, I suggest you go somewhere else. Employees: Most employees are extremely helpful and caring in hard situations. They will help out if you are in need of something. Though I would say that the small girl with the blond hair is a little snooty. The one girl, I believe Melissa or something, was such a nice person. Manager was kind and helpful. But I did notice that the management are very busy with mowing and picking up after the campers. read more

We spent 6 days in peak season here, 4 person family and a small dog in a 32ft travel trailer. We asked for a pull-thru lot with shade/trees. Our lot was level and long, but it was narrow and a tight squeeze when we pulled out. The two trees on our lot were not mature enough yet to give much shade. We suggest asking for a back-in lot because they are along the tree line surrounding the camp. The 30 amp breaker kept popping at 20 amps. There is only ONE bathhouse for camp. It was clean but outdated, no ac/fan, the floor was slippery outside in dressing area of shower, the shower water ran by PUSH BUTTON!!! (ie. navy shower) and the water turns scalding hot when anyone flushes a toilet or uses sinks. Also because of only one bathhouse it was quite a walk from our lot and it was often full so had to come back later. No Cable. They offer WIFI but it was useless and unfortunately our cell phone service (Verizon) wasn't any better. No cable or internet = unhappy kids. They keep up the grounds nicely and offer a nice dog doo-doo area. There is a nice dog play area that is fenced in, but it is too far out that no one used it that we saw. They have 2 nice nature walking paths that we enjoyed walking with our dog. The kids play area has many different features for them and is in middle of camp and right near the bathhouse. We were there during a busy time so our kids didn't use it but once though because it was so packed with people/kids they felt uncomfortable using. We would of preferred a couple areas so kids would spread out some and have more room to play. Maybe a younger kids area and older kids area? We just felt the shower /internet blackout/no cable made this a park we would not revisit. read more

Our family and friends LOVE Fox Hill! The staff is the friendly and very helpful. We happened across Fox Hill about 4 years ago and go back every chance we can get! We've never been to a campground with cleaner facilities as this one! We swear the bathrooms/showers are cleaned by fairies since it doesn't matter what time of day you're in there, they are in great shape. There is so much to do in the area and it is a close drive if you're wanting to go to the Casino, hit a water-park or two, go to Circus World, visit a couple area wineries or just shopping in the area. They have spacious cabins to rent and sites that include water and electric hookup. There are even sites with sewer, water and electric. For young ones there is a pool, a playground and activities on weekends including ice cream making, tye dyeing t-shirts and scavenger hunts. Our friends love to take their children on the hayride and there is also a cute "train" ride that the kids love to go on. The kids can't wait to see what is on the activity list for the weekend when they go! This is a great place to go that is family friendly and can't wait to go again!! read more

This campground is by far the best campground we have ever been to!! We have a pop-up camper and the site we were given was perfect. The first site we had was next to campers that had 2 very large dogs and since we have two small children we asked to be relocated to a different site. The staff immediately moved us to a wonderful site and they were extremely kind and very accommodating. The staff was polite and helped us with everything including delivering firewood right to our camp site. We have mostly camped at State Park Campgrounds, but not anymore. Fox Hill Rv Park was a class act all the way around. The bathrooms were very nice sized and very clean! We had a great time and the kids loved renting the pedal bikes to ride around the campground! read more
