Country Roads Motorhome and RV Park

Love this park!…read more We've been coming to Country Roads since 2004. We've been here for a number of RV rallies and just short visits on our own. We knew the previous owners well. I don't know the current owner or if I've met them but I will say that the place is still very well run from a customer perspective. All staff we've ever encountered has represented the park well. The property is kept up well. Always mowed and nice flowers and plants well planted and cared for all over the park. We used the laundry this week there for the very first time. It was very clean, the machines all worked well and it was inexpensive in our experience ($2 per wash and $2 per dry). The laundry is behind the office and accessible from the office or from the back of the building. Tokens for the machines are sold at the office. They sell firewood, ice, food and other items at the office. There's a small check-in office as you enter the park. Once you are checked in, staff escorts you to your site. The roads in the park in concentric circles. It's very unique and it works very well. There are a lot of tall, mature trees that they keep trimmed up nicely. So most sides have some shade and some sites have a lot of shade. There are bathhouses here. I've not used the showers but I have used the restrooms. Very clean. This park allows travel trailers, 5th wheels and motor homes. I'm not sure if they have any age restrictions on units. I've seen some older (not junky) units in here, some very nice Prevost-based units and everything in between. There are seasonal RVers here but my sense it that great than 50% of the RVers here are transient. Country Roads has always advertised itself "for the big kids". This means there are rarely any children present. There is no playground here and the pool was filled in, in the early 2000's. This suits us well. There are many, many RV parks in this area and all of them cater to families and that's just fine. We've stayed at many of them when we had our kids with us. Country Roads in 5 to 10 minutes from anything in Lake Delton / Wisconsin Dells / Baraboo. A Walmart and Home Depot and more are a quarter mile away. I can recommend Country Roads to any RVer with any type of RV.

Nice park and very quiet! There's construction going on on the road outside the park (but way…read morefarther down) - the office calls to remind you about it, so great communication. Full hook-ups at a reasonable price. Lots are long and spacious. You're close to your neighbor, but not that close. They do have horseshoes to throw and they do Farkle Friday (dice game if you don't know what that is). It's very close to the Dells, Devil's Lake State Park and Mirror Lake State Park. Lots to do in the area, especially for families. TONS of water parks (which were insanely crowded this weekend as we drove by).

We rented kayaks on Mira Lake. It was one of the most beautiful kayaking trips we've taken. We did…read moreit an early fall, and it was absolutely perfect. The scenery is beautiful. The water was calm. And there weren't a lot of other people kayaking at the time. Highly recommend if you're in the Dells area.

Wonderful State Park! Memorable experience! Would certainly plan to return!…read more Our big annual camping trip with the family recently took us to Mirror Lake, a spot that was new to all of us. It's an easy distance from where we live in Milwaukee, as it's in close proximity to the Wisconsin Dells. That said, even though we were deep in the woods camping, there was plenty of civilization close by should we have needed to restock on anything. Since we had quite a big group, we booked a double-site and boy did we luck out. I think we had the largest double that was available. It fit two large RV/campers and five tents, leaving ample room for tons of chairs around the fire pit and the big picnic tables provided. Oh and they are *electric campsites* which can be hard to find! No water hook up though. Not too far down from our site was the big shower houses/bathrooms. And let me just say, these are NICE! Like very nice. And very clean. Probably the best campsite bathrooms I've ever seen. I feel as though the building was very new / freshly redone. Other pros: plenty of lake activities (we rented both kayaks and pontoon boats), great walking paths (freshly laid wood chips and clear signage), lakeside beaches, and various playgrounds for the kiddos. Oh and fun planned experiences by the park - it was "Smokey Bear's birthday" when we were there and they had a firetruck on-site, water games, bday treats, prizes, and a meet and greet with the bear himself. A hit with our kids. Even if you're not camping, this state park would be wonderful for a day trip!
