We were up the hill in a woodsy site and it was roomy, clean, and quiet. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were much better than Devil's Lake. The owners are nice and very friendly. The camp store is cute and has lots of merch. We bought merch because there were lots of options and we want to support small businesses owners.

There was a heavy rain the day we were booked and out site held water. He was out there with a sump pump when we arrived. They placed us in a temporary site and the next day the host mowed and blew pine needles from our site so it was ready for us. Bath House: clean with good pressure. Laundry: 1 washer ($1.50) 1 dryer ($1.00) Commercial Grade machines. Never had to wait to get our laundry done. Firewood: $5/bundle. Nearby: Short drive to Tomah (Starbucks for the wife), Fort McCoy, Sparta, Wilton (for the Sparta-Elroy bicycle trails). There is a small bar across the street/walking distance. Haven't tried it yet, but I will add when we do. Host recommended Smitty's for lunch or dinner. It was an excellent suggestion, with inexpensive meals and great service. Internet: Haven't tried theirs. Our Starlink Roaming worked great here in both sites we were in. Here are the cons: Water had a metallic taste/smell to it. If you don't like that, I recommend bringing extra bottled water. Mosquitoes are vicious here. Lots of standing water in the cranberry bogs and marshes, so they are abundant. Small sites, though plenty of room for me to put out my corn hole boards and play. Turns are tight. I recommend. Update 26 July for Cons: My neighbor learned a less than desirable lesson. Not all campsites have individual breakers. He left the campsite early in the morning to venture around, and the camper on the other side of him pulled out while he was on the town. Both sites were on the same breaker. When they unplugged from the site, they cut the breaker as they should. However, my neighbors power was cut as well. And he was gone all day. No pets involved, but that is another reason to have a pet monitor in your camper.

So, we had plenty of room to stretch out sort of speak -- It was pretty sweet. When I made reservations for this campground, I wasn't aware that it was a community -- meaning, people actually live there on this campground. So, we were definitely the outsiders of the Western Woods Family Community. That didn't bother us, BUT what did bother us and the reason behind the two stars rating is BECAUSE my parents belongings were stolen while my husband was in our tent changing our newborn's diaper; while my parents and I made a quick run to Walmart. Although, we left our belongings outside in a chair doesn't make it right for someone to steal an iPad, expensive speaker, along with a charger port and the charger cables. My Mum realized her iPad was missing, my stepdad then drove around the campsite and found the iPad at a lot post vandalized. The iPad was shattered into a million pieces, it was hurtful and upsetting. The community turned their heads and wasn't any help. So, it made the camping experience at this campground unsettling. We will not be recommending and staying here EVER again.

Love this park!…read more We've been coming to Country Roads since 2004. We've been here for a number of RV rallies and just short visits on our own. We knew the previous owners well. I don't know the current owner or if I've met them but I will say that the place is still very well run from a customer perspective. All staff we've ever encountered has represented the park well. The property is kept up well. Always mowed and nice flowers and plants well planted and cared for all over the park. We used the laundry this week there for the very first time. It was very clean, the machines all worked well and it was inexpensive in our experience ($2 per wash and $2 per dry). The laundry is behind the office and accessible from the office or from the back of the building. Tokens for the machines are sold at the office. They sell firewood, ice, food and other items at the office. There's a small check-in office as you enter the park. Once you are checked in, staff escorts you to your site. The roads in the park in concentric circles. It's very unique and it works very well. There are a lot of tall, mature trees that they keep trimmed up nicely. So most sides have some shade and some sites have a lot of shade. There are bathhouses here. I've not used the showers but I have used the restrooms. Very clean. This park allows travel trailers, 5th wheels and motor homes. I'm not sure if they have any age restrictions on units. I've seen some older (not junky) units in here, some very nice Prevost-based units and everything in between. There are seasonal RVers here but my sense it that great than 50% of the RVers here are transient. Country Roads has always advertised itself "for the big kids". This means there are rarely any children present. There is no playground here and the pool was filled in, in the early 2000's. This suits us well. There are many, many RV parks in this area and all of them cater to families and that's just fine. We've stayed at many of them when we had our kids with us. Country Roads in 5 to 10 minutes from anything in Lake Delton / Wisconsin Dells / Baraboo. A Walmart and Home Depot and more are a quarter mile away. I can recommend Country Roads to any RVer with any type of RV.

The number of things to do while there was perfect for the ADHD kids and the ability to sit and watch them do ALL THE THINGS was perfect for this tired momma! We played mini-golf at 6:45 am, horseshoes at 6:54 am, and playground at 7 am to just start all over again (multiple times)! Definitely plan your drinking schedule with the fact that the bathroom is not in the cabin but still close! We had s'mores on the fire pit and two nights of BBQ! We even swam in the lake and the kids LOVED the inflatables (even the 40-year-old fat dudes got out there). The owners were incredible and friendly. It was the rest I wanted and needed! It was conveniently next to a gas station. We drove to Tomah and got pizza the first night because we got there in the evening and it was raining the pizza was fantastic!!! The campsite has free coffee or tea so every morning I got my cup Of coffee before starting my fay. I would definitely go back. It was the best rest Ive had in years!!

Our bedding felt damp, our towels never dried and getting out of the shower and getting dressed was nearly impossible. The water had very low pressure and smelled rotten. They have "free wi-fi" that was slower than snails. There was a lot of dirt and debris on the floor when we arrived like it wasn't cleaned properly. When we're spending over $300 a night, I would just expect a cleaner, more well maintained dwelling. The price is outrageous for what they provide.

For instance a Drunk guy and girl on a Harley at 3am. Multiple security officer visits asking if he needed anything. There's holes in the doors, weather strips to the front door missing with gaps big enough for mice! The layout is so bazaar, line when your 12 and have a sleep over and push everything together to build a fort! They say they renovated the whole place, but these rooms have clearly remained unchanged for decades. The beds themselves feel like blocks with basic training sheets and blankets. If you did not serve and therefore are unaware of how that feels...think dusty sandpaper. We are only here for two nights or I would dip and stay at literally any other motel. My favorite part was when we checked in and the "concierge" pleaded to us to just not break the furniture...that's not a good sign! This hotel is for you if plan to get wasted and use the room to crash...but my guess is it's a safe bet to leave the blacklights off!
