It's no more than a mile from the 4th largest lake in Wisconsin, castle rock lake, and they have a nice bait shop that's open 7 days a week from 7a-7p. There are a few golf courses near by, snowmobile/ATV trails right across the street and even airsoft/paintballing 1/2 mile away! There are a lot of activities around the site as well volleyball, playset, horseshoes, custom made basketball hot shot and our favorite, sitting around a nice bonfire and seeing all the stars. The horses are well-trained, and the wranglers are the kind of people who make you feel at ease instantly--patient, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. Our 14-year-old boys (and their friends) never once said they were bored, stayed off their phones and came back each night completely exhausted and full of stories. Days were packed with fresh air and adventure; nights were peaceful and relaxing. What truly makes this ranch special is the people. It's family-run, and by the end of our stay, we felt like part of the family ourselves. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy. Picture this scenario: Miscellaneous stains/streaks on the dirty walls, chipped and chopped wood by the doors (looked like people had tried to break in at various other times, or the work of an axe murderer), bottle openers attached to the wall in the bathrooms, nasty, stained, scratchy bedspreads on the lumpy beds, and to top it off, we were awakened by hookers arguing in the parking lot at night.
