Beautiful newer hotel. Clean large rooms. Nice pool. Reasonably priced. We will go back.

Family of 5 (13, 9, 8) just returned from 4 days, 3 nights, and are already wondering when we can…read morego back! This will be one bc We did the all-inclusive package, which meant 3 meals were included, and all the activities. For those of us who wanted to ride the horses, we had ample opportunity - after the breakfast ride, there are rides at 10, 11, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30. You ride out to the middle of the forest every day for breakfast (covered wagon for those who don't want to ride) and enjoy the best bacon, sausage, eggs and pancakes or french toast. You won't go hungry! The horses never trot, only walk, on the breakfast ride, so take a flyer and try it - they are well-trained trail horses who know their job and do it well, plus there are 1-2 wranglers who ride middle and end of the line to help give instruction if there is ever a need. My 8 yo daughter and I rode a lot while the boys found other things they wanted to enjoy like canoeing, working out, basketball in an air-conditioned gym (or kickball or dodgeball). There is an outdoor pool, archery, fishing at the lake, a movie theater. They have staff that run various activities throughout the day. The meals are family-style and plentiful. For lunches we had reubens, chicken salad sandwiches, and grilled ham and cheese. Dinners were a cookout (Sat.and Tuesdays complete with burgers, dogs, brats, chicken and bison burgers - order what you want and beans filled with bacon!), Northern fried chicken, meatloaf. They used COVID as an opportunity to do some maintenance and the main house got a facelift. We stayed in Ranchero and it was 3 bedroom (2 with Queen beds, and one with bunks), one bathroom. Pets are allowed, but think through how that will work if you are enjoying all the activities. Our dogs did not want to do their business on a leash, so that was interesting - not sure we would bring them again because you check out at 11a.m. but can stay till 5:00 and there was no place to put the dogs, so someone has to sit out of the remaining fun. Bring lots of bug spray - the type with lots of Deet (even then I got a few bites but I'm super sensitive to bites)! My kids ended up wishing they had more time to fish because we tried it on the last day and ran out of hotdog bait and time! Kids 8 and over can ride. You pick your horse and reserve it by putting the stirrup over the saddle horn. You can pick a different horse each time. As soon as we got off the horse after a ride my daughter would immediately reserve the same horse (Dunny). For those under 8, there is a pony ring. If you are a family who wants to all ride horses, wait till your youngest is 8 or one of you won't get to ride each time. My only suggestion is to bring something to hang up your swim suits (the pool does have towels) - I wish each cabin had a clothes line for that purpose - as we ended up setting clothes over the chairs that were outside our cabin. Oh, and moms who have "issues" on trampolines, you will have same issue when the horse trots - so just come prepared. *wink* Check out the photos for this review by clicking my name. I uploaded them and put captions with them but they aren't showing up here.

We spent three nights at this family-run horse ranch, and it was exactly the kind of getaway we…read morewere hoping for. The cabins are clean and comfortable--yes, they could use some updates, but that's part of their old‑school charm. If this place gets more visitors, they can put more into upkeep, so go check it out and help keep a great thing going. The horseback riding was incredible. We hit the trails up to three times a day. The horses are well-trained, and the wranglers are the kind of people who make you feel at ease instantly--patient, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. Our 14-year-old boys (and their friends) never once said they were bored, stayed off their phones and came back each night completely exhausted and full of stories. Days were packed with fresh air and adventure; nights were peaceful and relaxing. What truly makes this ranch special is the people. It's family-run, and by the end of our stay, we felt like part of the family ourselves. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy. If you're looking for a place to disconnect, have fun, and create real memories, this is it. We'll definitely be back!

Well it's a new review for an older experience…read more Back in September of 2017 my nephew and I biked from the twin cities down to Madison staying in hotels along the way. Reedsburg was our last night so we preferred to stay somewhere nice. We were greeted warmly by our hosts Lorraine & Neil who let us park the bikes in their garage and let us know where we could get some food in town. After a nice dinner we went back to the clean and nice rooms and talked with our hosts about what we'd like for breakfast. I remember a great blueberry cobbler and some (homemade?) yogurt. Our hosts gave us some good insights on the road ahead and we rode on down through Baraboo, past Devils lake in into Madison. I'd definitely repeat the ride and particularly the stay here.

All the rooms (of which there are 4) are of good size, but only 2 have their own bathroom. The other 2 have to share, which isn't that much of a hassle in this kind of place, really. Unless you are really picky. The owners/operators are a super nice married couple who really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The breakfasts they serve are nothing short of spectacular and delicious without being froo-froo. Usually 4 courses, and all were excelent every meal. We always left the house nice and full! I also should mention that this place is pretty well located for quite a few tourist spots around the area, including the dells, house on the rock, taliesin, and a few others. Highly, highly reccomended!!

The forward tees were 5200 yards which is long and it felt like it. Hard for me to get on the green in regulation. The course was in good shape. Tee boxes and greens were nice. Our foursome played in about 4 hours which was a good pace. Carts had GPS for yardage. Staff was friendly. Great experience.

Was able to get drinks and refills with not too much of a wait. Buffalo Wings were solid. The clubouse had a very good patio, was cool to relax out there after our round with a bourbon. Condo was nice and clean, few amenities, balconies that back up to the fairways. The replica holes were a fun challenge. There was a very nice lady who cleaned our clubs while my group finished the 18th hole. The not so good: For what you're paying for on this course, I expect a little more. Half of the ball washers were empty, none at all had towels. Water coolers on the course were entirely empty on a hot day. Greens were not very well kept, all kinds of chunks taken out of them. Beverage cart was few and far between. One of the guys who worked there had some pace-of-play comments to make to us, even though we were keeping up with and pushing the group in front of us. Overall, had a good time but at those rates, hope you make it a little more worth our while.
