The only down side of this lodging choice was the 2.5 mile ride to Amil's from the trail, but Hwy 131 was not super busy and felt completely safe to ride on. I'm not a regular B&B person at all, they are usually not my first choice in lodging. But this trip proved a B&B, AMil's in particular, was the best choice. Anita is the owner and proprietor of Amil's and she certainly knows what she's doing! The accommodations were super comfortable and the house, the rooms, the bathrooms and everything were off the charts clean. Breakfasts were also off the charts tasty and filling -- my only complaint is I could barely clean my plate there was so much to eat, and I didn't want to be rude by leaving anything to go to waste. Turns out the fuel was needed for the rides anyway, but....Yes, fresh wonderful breakfasts with ingredients from Anita's gardens, couldn't be beat. And endless coffee. We also enjoyed a morning stroll around the gardens and an evening sitting on the front porch watching the sunset. (The Cenex in town has a good beer and snacks selection and we enjoyed a dinner at the Hitching Post Bar in town one night). We didn't partake in sitting out back at the fire pit, but noticed the basket of s'mores supplies available for guests. Anita is delightful, and every detail was taken care of. Bottom line is Amil's was a lovely experience and I highly recommend staying here!

This was our first stay at the property, and every detail, from the check-in, breakfast and beauty of the guest rooms was unparalleled. The owners have done an amazing job at restoring the property and providing superb customer service and care for you. Our stay was better than we could have hoped for! The entire goal of the trip was relaxation and Victorian Dreams made it possible. The room was cozy, unique and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious--huge fan of the caramel french toast. We stayed in the fall, and the Lodi area was beautiful, but this is a location that is worth booking, during any season. We're extensive travelers and are experienced BnB users and providers. Victorian Dreams, and its' owners, are by far at the top our list! We wish we could have stayed longer and will make it a point to come back here annually. We're very lucky to have such a nice place less than an hour away from us in Wisconsin and are eagerly anticipating our next chance to stay agai. (There are so many little towns around there to go antiquing in and an Amish trail, too!) Saturday morning this is a typical stop for locals having pie (four types) and ice cream. From the beginning, my communication with the owner Mike was prompt, courteous, and professional. When I arrived, he was there to greet me, and my private room was cozy, clean, and included some refreshments -- a welcome creature comfort after the 10 hour drive! I shared a bathroom, but it was clean, spacious, and had more than enough clean white towels for myself and the other guests utilizing it. Not to be outdone, Sue made a delicious breakfast in the morning. I enjoyed fresh fruit salad, eggs Benedict, and homemade blueberry muffins. I was super stuffed by the end, but didn't mind a bit! The cherry on top was when I had to leave early to drive home (to the tune of 5 AM). Mike woke up and made me a to-go cup of coffee for the road.
