We had a fantastic stay at Indian Trails Campground and were impressed by how well the campground is maintained and operated. The bathrooms were truly next level for a campground--spacious stalls, tile finishes, automatic soap and towel dispensers, and very clean showers. They were some of the nicest campground facilities we've experienced. The inflatables on the lake were a huge hit with the kids, and the beach had perfect soft sand for swimming, sandcastles, and relaxing. The kids also loved both pools and spent hours enjoying the water. Our granddaughter was thrilled to win bingo during our stay! We appreciated the little details that made camping easier. Garbage was picked up at our site multiple times a day, and staff watered the roads to keep the dust down. My favorite feature was the dump station--hoses were already hooked up and ready to use, making the process quick and easy. More campgrounds should do this. The mini golf course was fun, the campground store had a great selection of toys that the grandkids loved, and quiet hours were actually respected, which made for peaceful evenings. Indian Trails does an excellent job creating a fun, family-friendly camping experience while keeping the campground clean, organized, and comfortable. We'll be back! read more

I camped here for a couple of days. It was a pleasant experience. I was in Cabin J, which was their best cabin with restroom and a shower. Stay was comfortable. Campground was peaceful. Trash removal was prompt. There was a fire ring outside. We made fire in the evening. Camp store food was reasonable. Soft serve ice cream came in many flavors. Pizza burger was my favorite item. Burger patty had a layer of cheese in between. Tot rings were nice and crispy. Crispy chicken sandwich and chicken nuggets were good. Chicken Alfredo pizza was lotza mozza pizza. I like that brand. Root beer float was a decent one. There was a complimentary softee cone, a kayak rental and a bundle of wood. That was a nice surprise. read more

This is a top notch campground with great amenities. The owners and employees are very attentive to people's needs, and they enforce the rules, making it a great experience for everyone. Not only did they have great amenities, but they had probably the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at ANY business. They were spotless all weekend. My family with kids ages 7 and 10 along with a set of grandparents stayed at this campground from June 27th through July 2nd, 2021. We absolutely loved our stay here! The campground is beautiful and well kept. Lots of amenities that my kids really enjoyed. The bathrooms and showers were clean and modern. The staff were super friendly. Loved all the options in the camp store and especially that there were varied prices so someone walking in with their kiddo could find something affordable. Keep up the great work! The only criticism I can give is it would have been nice to have more rock in our camp spot and the lake is so mossy it was difficult to fish. However I feel this is knit picky given the quality of the campground and the cost. Keep up the great work! read more

A great place with plenty of things to do- indoor and outdoor pool and pond with floaties. Good showers big area and nice store and snack bar menu. I give it four because the pond is very mucky and freezing in 90 degree weather and hard to swim in with the floaties. with only three or four w floaties 10 kids are on one so I recommend going when it's not to hectic. Also sad no golf carts are allowed as it is such a big campground with a huge hill by middle so not good for people with a hard time walking. read more

Here is a full review with lots of pictures. I'd give Indian Trails 6 stars if I could...even with a few flaws. As far as a campground goes, this place is worth every single penny. You won't be disappointed. It's a little higher in price, but you get your monies worth and here's why. Things to do: I can't even list all that you have to choose from, it's-so-much! You should not get bored and neither will your kiddies! Even better, it's all reasonably priced. Bring fishing poles for the kids. Campsites: Large lots and LEVEL! Campgrounds: Cleanest & nicest I've ever seen. Even throughout the busy weekend they kept the grounds and bathrooms so clean and fully stocked. Staff: Lots of staff around to help with great attitudes. Even when they got swamped they didn't loose their cool. Bathrooms (cause we all care about those): are everywhere and even the port-a-potties are very clean and stocked. Bath houses have private showers and good water pressure and NO BUGS! Dust: they watered the gravel roads often. We were right on a 4 way corner lot at the main entrance and it was never dusty. Store: very well stocked and necessities not overpriced. Condiments were a bit high but they can't keep a lot of that so it's expected. Free Events: we had a free pancake breakfast and honestly planned for a cheap experience. Everyone in our group loved the hot cakes and said they were tasty and they had quality syrup. Only got two, so not quite as filling for our big boys, but we managed. I ran over and got some eggs and was shocked to find out they were only $2 per dozen!! A few knit-picky flaws: *The Western Weekend was more like Indian Extravaganza. Nothing western about it, but very cool to see the authentic Indian culture represented (I'm 1/2 Cherokee so I valued that). However the outside party that ran that part was a little rude sometimes and their stuff way overpriced. *The pool was awesome, but felt like a sauna in there. Really muggy. But nice to have a 3'-8' indoor pool. A few things to think about before booking: * If you need 50 amp & want sewer, make sure you specifically talk to them about that. It's not specified anywhere so when we got there and got our trailer all set up and ready to plug in, we were surprised to find out it was a 30amp outlet. When I asked about it at the office they said all of their shared outlet boxes are technically set up for 1 30amp & 1 50 amp. Luckily the guy next to us only had a pop up, so we were able to use the adapter (they have them in the store to borrow) and I must say, to our relief it worked great all weekend. *If you want to be loud and crazy and party up a storm after hours, find another campground. They are a family camp and strict in enforcing the 11 pm quiet time rules. We were okay with that even though we stayed up until 1 around the fire with a big group of fun people. Drinking is not a problem. Lots of sites had fun just kept it down. *Kids are safe! This place is a GREAT for kids & doggies and they have people checking on them and the entering/exiting cars almost the whole time. We had 8 kids with us and felt totally comfortable letting them play around camp. Overall, you'll love this place. It's not perfect but you'll be hard pressed to find a campground that is or has 1/2 of what they offer. Happy camping! read more

This is an incredible family campground! My daughter and I stayed a weekend the end of July 2021.The staff is very friendly. The buildings are clean. They offer a restaurant, store, indoor pool, outdoor pools and lakes/ponds to swim in. There is fishing, mini golf, dog parks and hiking trails. you can rent boats and kayaks. The sites are very nice and the park rules are enforced so you don't have to worry about the minority of campers that go camping to party and be disruptive. The surrounding area is beautiful and you can enjoy nature at its best. We will certainly be returning! read more

This is my favorite campground. They have the cleanest grounds you can ask for. They pickup garbage almost 4 times daily, from the sites. Bathrooms and showers are free, and clean. There are many, many activities for the kids, inside and outside. Sites are large, level and plentiful. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. read more

It was overall ok. If someone was set up next to you , you would be able to hear every word they say if you both were sitting at your own campfire ring. We went swimming in the little lake/ pond with the inflatables (not set up yet) and my 3 yr old came out covered in leaches so I don't think will go back. read more

Very crowded and busy, people were walking through our campsite. They nickel and dime, charging a dollar for a child's craft that probably cost a nickel from Oriental Traders. With the cost of staying there I don't think they need to charge extra for my child to color a pirate eye patch. I will say the staff is nice (the ones we dealt with anyway). This campground is downright RACIST!!! I came here and stayed in a cabin for the weekend with my girlfriend on the Fourth of July For starters, the name of the campground is INDIAN Trails. That's racist My girl and I got hungry so we headed to the gift shop where we got some grub We got two orders of cheese curds and they tasted like her caca When we sat down to eat, I noticed a Native American caricature dressed in a headdress and Fourth of July decorations. The Native American was called a stereotypical name like Chief Slapahoe ‍ from tribe Suckmypeen ‍ The Chief was had several buttons you could push and he told his words of wisdom It was the most STEREOTYPICAL and RACIST figure I have EVER seen This is offensive on so many levels I cannot express my anger enough. My blood is BOILING I CANNOT BELIEVE you would have the NERVE to put Independence Day decorations on a racist Native American caricature. THEIR LAND WAS TAKEN FROM WHITE AMERICA. I have been going here for years now and every year it gets worse. There are too many rules that aren't even posted on the website. The owner comes around on your site and bothers you. The only really fun part is the pond. That's it. At first we loved it now it is getting worse. Wouldn't recommend coming here if you like to have freedom and fun read more

Dear Indian Trails campground, aka Camp NO Joy! We were so excited to come camp for 5 days but within 3 hours of check in "Ranger Dick,"who we later found out is really Dave the owner, rolled up on our campsite with the BIGGEST dick head attitude I've ever encountered regarding our dogs baking at 3pm in the afternoon. Instead of nicely or even respectfully coming through to speak with us about it, he immediately began yelling that our dogs couldn't bark and if they were going to we needed to vacate the premises immediately. I was literally rendered speechless from shock at how this a-hole approached and spoke to paying guests. Especially after there self imposed "Golden Rule" of treating your fellow campers with respect and courtesy. What a dang joke! The owner can't even follow his own dang rule! After Dave, aka Ranger Dick, left our camp site I immediately started looking up reviews for Camp NO Joy. While a lot of reviews were great about the bathrooms and cleanliness of the campground there were also quite a few about the extremely rude and curt gentlemen who instead of trying to approach people with a hospitable attitude in things he is noticing that need correcting he immediately starts berating and belittling HIS paying guests! While I understand that running a campground might be slightly hectic there is absolutely NO reason that he should speak the anyone that way EVER! Later in the evening our "neighbors" came to speak with us and immediately commented on how Ranger Dick spoke to us. We sat and chatted about how disgusting his behavior was and how there was definitely a more tactful way of handling himself. We also came to the conclusion that Camp NO Joy is not for us in the future. What's the point of saying you are dog friendly if your dogs can't bark? And there website is extremely misleading with it's dog policy because once you arrive, you receive a full page sheet of dog rules that would have definitely deterred us from staying given the fact that they are NOT dog friendly in the slightest. All of this and it's only day one, great. Day 2 came with anxiety over barking. We were literally on edge the entire day and dared not leave our site or let our dogs make a peep for fear of being rudely scolded again or threatened to be kicked out. Thankfully Ranger Dick stayed away. Day 3 our children decided to utilize the games in the camp store. I guess as kids do, they forgot to clean up in their mess in haste to go play with their new friends. All of a sudden here comes Ranger Dick again. This time he approached in a slightly less abrasive tone then our previous encounter. He explained, only slightly less harsh than the first time, what happened up in the store. He also stated that my daughter was rude to him when being talked to. Ya think? I'm sure she spoke to you the EXACT same way you spoke to her. You should try leading by example before you pull out your HUGE dick head attitude. I promise it will get you better results. I also took this opportunity, now that I was able to express my thoughts, to share how he approached us on day one. I explained that he was extremely rude and that it was completely unnecessary and next time to please try to use your manners. He acknowledged what I was saying and was on his way. Unfortunately the damage had already been done and our opinion of him didn't change. Day 4 came along and as we were leaving the bark park we noticed Ranger Dick aggressively roll up to another site with is sky high attitude. So clearly this is just who Ranger Dick is as a person. How unfortunate. Thank God his wrath wasn't aimed at us this time. Day 5 came and we couldn't pack up fast enough. BMX track ='s JOKE! All the space activities ='s JOKE! You have to be 12 and under to participate. Bark park ='s JOKE! Only 5 dogs allowed in at a time and you better not even think about barking! Inflatable pond ='s not terrible if you don't mind coming out covered in leeches! I do so we didn't utilize. Camp sites ='s fly infested, sand mite infested and more dirt than grass. The only thing that gives this place its one star is the free showers and for the most part cleanly bathrooms. read more

This is a nice family campground with plenty to do. The only complaint is that sites are pretty close to one another. We camped here a few years back but enjoyed it. The catch and release was very active, pretty much caught a bass every cast! Separate swimming areas offer a pond and pool area. We dont have children so I cannot remember the exact play equipment but there was plenty of it. We would definitely camp there again. Also if you had the WACO flyer there was a coupon in it several years in a row that offered a could discount here. read more

Very corporate campground that is over crowded with campsites. The security guy was riding around on his 10 speed bicycle taking out his frustrations on the campers. A huge list of insane rules inhibits fun. Everything is expensive. read more

This is a great campground, lots to do, friendly staff. We stayed here over a Halloween weekend, the Haunted House was crazy scary and the trick-or-treating was tons of fun. We had a lake-side campsite so my guys got plenty of fishing time in and the view in the morning of the fog on the water was beautiful! They also have an indoor pool, BMX track and home-made doughnuts Sunday a.m., what's not to love? We'll definitely be back! read more

We are an older couple traveling in a trailer enjoying retirement. We have made several trips to this campground and find it to be a well run quiet place that caters to families and people like us. The lake is nice and I recommend a waterfront site for the view. It can be crowded in season but we have never experienced issues with noise or unruly campers. It is close to town with some fun restaurants in both Pardeeville and Portage. We are always confused when we see bad reviews as all our trips there have been very pleasant. We like the staff and always feel they are helpful. Wifi not that great away from office. Lots of kid related activity that we don't use but seems to be very popular. read more

The campsites are unbelievably close! Absolutely no privacy. Luckily, the young gentleman who helped me check in was very nice, but the older lady who was also helping customers next to me was extremely unpleasant. She was telling the visitors that they had too many people at their site, but in an extremely unpleasant manner. She could of at least been nice when explaining the policy. Certainly will not go back here again. Way over priced for the tiny sites. Much better camping in central Wisconsin. read more
