Well, when we got to ringing up our items, the gum rung up at $25.00 a pack!! I had two packs. When I saw that $50 on the screen & none of the clothes, I said, "wait a minute, that gum is $25?"! The lady must have been new or something because she had a problem ringing up the gum in the first place and had to get assistance from the guy working there. Well, I told her to put that gum back. It would be a cold day in hell before I spend $25 on a pack of gum. I can just go to the grocery store. So, when I finally got home I was curious about this gum and why would it cost so much. So I looked it up on Urban Outfitters website. That gum had a price of $3.50 per pack on the site!!!!! Atlanta will never out live the scammer city allegations!!!! I tell you!!! I'm glad it was me checking out instead of my daughter. She would have just swiped and kept it moving, lol. I say all this, to say ... check your receipts. Customer service was still great, beautiful store set up and all that. I just couldn't believe the lady was going to let me pay $50 for gum that came out the bins where everything is usually under $10. Thanks for letting me rant.

The story goes: Guy meets girl. Girl throws away guy's old shirt. Guy loved old shirt because it was soft. Guy wonders, why can't all shirts be this soft from the start? I walked into the first Marine Layer store when I was out in Seattle. I was surprised to find this store here at Ponce City Market. Naturally I walked in and looked at the designs. To be quite honest, the prices here are steep but the design, fit and comfort are second to none. I can't get all my clothes here (because I'll be REAL poor) but I do occasionally get one or two items that I then treasure. Although most of the clothing they sell are manufactured in SF or LA, some of the products come from overseas. I also found out here if you donate some of your old clothes, you can get coupons to be used in the store. In fact, there is now a small section of clothing made from old clothes! pretty neat.... Although walking into the store is nice to be able to browse and try on clothes, now that I know what size fits me, I can do all my ordering online. Again, this is expensive but the clothing designs are top notch. Very much a west coast vibe going on here. If you haven't been yet, I suggest giving them a try. Hollister is a causal, Southern California inspired clothing company geared towards teens and college age. I would say their stye is more relaxed lounge wear. It's got a stretch to it-not like the stuff from the 80's where you have to hold your breath and lay flat on your bed in order to get into your jeans...haha, that and half of can of Aqua Net hair spray, some blue eyeshadow and you're good to go... We had a good experience here. The store is very neat and organized. The sales floor people here are courteous and friendly. Would definitely come back again. Plus they have tons of summer sales...

Complimentary Hand Sanitizer upon walking in amongst a tidy, chandelier decorum, organized layout. The sales & specials are good incentives to shop. This location is on the lower level of Phipps Plaza, and like most stores, when you see a sale that says they are having a sale, you think there has to be something that you can find. I found a dress, that was regular $68, but on sale for $49. I guess that's a sale, but to me a better sale would have been $29. I say try these clothes on if you can. I purchased an XL but returned it because it was practically falling off my shoulders. The staff was polite and the manger seemed very helpful with other customers that were in the store.

It's interesting how the same item can be priced significantly lower here - for example, an item that costs $5 at this store might be priced at $10 at another location. Not sure why? TIP: If you do visit here, be sure to check the back wall to the right; they often have excellent clearance items in that section. However, when browsing clearance racks, it's important to double-check the tags, as items are sometimes misplaced and may not be marked down as expected. I visit this store regularly, and I find the staff to be friendly and helpful. Though the lines could move faster. Sometimes they have 10 people in line with only two registers open. That said, I would recommend avoiding weekends if possible, as those are typically the busiest times. As for the manager, I've had positive interactions in the past. This is a cute lil retail shop located in Ponce City Market. It's located on the second level on…read morethe end by The Village Market (another black owned business) and across from what will be Slutty Vegan's 4th Atlanta location. Based off of their social media, they just opened up in November. Bombchel Factory is a black owned and woman owned small business. I didn't really read about them until I got home, but I love the story and mission the owner Archel has created for her business. The store is open and accepting to all walks of life. This shop has a number of African inspired items and patterns which is displayed through clothing, jewelry, candles, etc. I was drawn to the tie-dye Atlanta Influences Everything long sleeve. The shirt is unisex and comes in a variety of color patterns. I will say the store and clothing is geared more towards women as there isn't really any men clothing that I noticed other than the unisex shirts or hoodies. There's a number of other things in there I'd live to get and will definitely be returning to get. I'd say their prices are fairly on par with similar shops/boutique style shops. The shirt I think was $60, which some may find on the expensive end, but it didn't surprise me for a small business as a lot of these items are hand crafted and there's no huge manufacturing things as major retail businesses would have. The two staff members that were working at the time were very friendly and helpful during my visit, and not pushy at all which I like. All in all, it's a cute shop and it's nice to see exposure to more small black owned businesses in the city, as well as in Ponce City Market.

Every time I go in, they make me feel so good and welcomed. Any time the owner, Archel, is there she goes above and beyond to make sure I am taken care of. If my size isn't in the store, she has offered to get it for me. The styles they have are high quality and the items are priced appropriately especially for PCM. I also love that they are more than honest about which items come from where; some are curated in Atlanta while most come from various areas in Africa. The best part about this brand is the back story, which everyone that goes needs to ask. I won't go into the details here, but just know every purchase comes with purpose!
