Overall good, but we got off on a rocky start with our keycode not working. Several calls to the phone and 1 email all of which took 1-1/2 hours before we got into our room. Linda and I headed to the island for a workshop last Saturday and decided to stay on here for a few days after the workshop...It's located a short walking distance from the heart of downtown, such as it is. So restaurants, grocery store, coffee shops, etc are all close by. Yet it's back off the road so you get no road noise from traffic. The positives are the cleanliness of this place inside and out. The grounds are well kept. The rooms were spotless. It's a bit of a weird place in that the rooms are like little modular homes or tiny homes. I measured with my big feets..maybe 10-12 feet wide by 30 or so feet long. Ours was a very nice king bed on one side (which surprised me because given my weight and size, 6'3 and 245 pounds o'man..I'm usually disappointed with too soft beds in lodging) with it's own AC unit, a good albeit under equipped kitchen sharing the middle space with a bath/shower and toilet each in their own room with doors. Then a living space with couch, TV, gas fireplace, and another AC unit, then a smaller end space that had a little round table and art and shit. It probably serves as a second bedroom in other options. So all in all we thought the layout was neat and functional. Also the service level if you needed anything...towels, more coffee, etc. was really responsive. What we liked less well were the following. That little living space with a very small table and two goofy chairs, board games, and art? We would have traded all of that for a cooktop and some pots and pans. If you, like us, enjoy making some of your own meals on vacation you're in trouble. You got a microwave so you can reheat but if you want to cook you have to take all your stuff over the the public house and cook over there. And while there are ample pots and pans over there, there's only a two burner hot plate to cook on. That's a pain in the ass...so we adapted..each morning we went and got the hotplate, pans, knives and brought it back to our room so we could make some breakfast, then cleaned and returned it to the public house. So a caution...if you're planning on having longer visits to Vashon and indeed like to cook a bit here and there, this might not be the place...but you will have art and boardgames in your room...oh..and the little round table is so small that when we both needed to get a little work done, only one computer would fit on the table at at time...the other had to work off the coffee table in the living room. And those goofy chairs...cute but not comfortable...enjoy enjoy playing Probe! read more

We arrived March 6 for a two day stay. There was NO service. No one to greet us or show us around. No one to give us the code to get into our room and we only had until 4pm to get in. I sent an email at 3 followed by many many voicemails. We were unable to reach anyone. Without the help of the bartender in the nearby pub, we'd have had to just leave. The grounds are lovely and we found the cottage bright clean and cheerful. My initial image changed though upon settling in. Where to put the luggage?.. I guess the window seat in the main room. The closet wasn't really available as it had a broom and ironing board. We had about six inches to use. There was no vanity with sink. Everything, cosmetics, toothbrushes, husbands shaver, hair brush, dryer etc had to be put on the kitchen counter. Teeth had to be brushed in the kitchen sink, the only sink. There was no table or counter to put clothes on in the shower room; just a stool. The toilet was nearly scary. It was in a very small room of its own with only a toilet brush and a hygiene container. No pictures,.. nothing on the wall, nothing. We had one very small trash container and nowhere on the grounds to dump it as it filled very fast. And we were never able to get the TV to work. Dish soap, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and hand sanitizer were available but none were marked. Had to test each container to identify what we had. We had just come from another lodge and the contrast was stunning. But the bed was comfortable. Lodges on Vashon was not inexpensive. I expect more for my $195 per. We will not be back. read more

The venue is gorgeous. It's a number of mid-size trailer/modular single-wides that are about 8x30' and are basically small apartments. The surrounding area is beautiful, and there's several areas where groups can hang out together that are fantastic little spaces. Best part is that pets are allowed; we didn't know this when we first came but will definitely be bringing our dog with us next time. HIGHLY recommended, spoke with the people who run it and they're cool as well. We came as a large group to celebrate a friend's birthday but my husband and I very much hope to come again. It's right near downtown Vashon within walking distance of everything, and was an amazing experience. read more

All in all a wonderful place with a very Vashon unique boutique feel. The feeling was very local and handcrafted from the local coffee to the wonderful soaps and creams. The setting gives a very indoor/outdoor feel and the common areas provide an additional plus. I also love the modern aesthetic. There are a few minor quibbles though as it seemed that not everything was thought out in terms of function. As others note, there is only one sink due to Vashon rules. I understand the lodges can't do anything about that, but the rule itself does not solve a problem that I can see. Is it to constrain water usage? If so how does having one sink change anything? One had to work to get the soap back into the handcrafted soap dish in the shower -- resulting in wasted water. The bedroom door and the bedroom closet door interfered with each other. No stand for luggage. I was there for a work retreat and the work room and common kitchen worked nicely. The minor issues I mention are the only thing holding me back from giving five stars. read more

Our first time at The Lodges was an overall success! There was a disclaimer that all check-in/check-out times are unchangeable so as to give them ample time to properly clean during COVID. We appreciated how clean the cabin was! Overall, the cabin was modern and timeless. Some very small downsides are: 1 sink for the entire cabin/there's no separate bathroom sink, the gas fireplace is on a timer, there wasn't a shower curtain and you can see into the bathroom, and the tv is in the bedroom/not in the living room. We had one issue during our stay, and the manager was wonderful and very responsive via email/phone. All in all, it was super relaxing being there and the walk into town every morning was lovely. Awesome place! Super cool design and thoughtful layout of the lodges. This mini resort is unique in that it's set up to run on it's own without the typical "front desk" which is nice! The confirm email tells you everything you need for the lodges and property. In room info tells you everything for in-room operations and for the surrounding area (attractions, restaurants, etc.) Our unit #13 faces trees, has an eat-in area, living room space, kitchen/area and sep bedroom. The Water closet and bath/shower are separate rooms as well which is really nice if you know what I mean. The unit design is mid century modern with true attention to detail from the flooring, sink, blinds and furnishings to the AC and heat systems. Yes, there are timers on heat, cooling and some lights - but that is reminiscent of European and other smart, efficient hotels. Why waste electeicity? lots of natural light and fresh air! The cleaning staff (I think of them as sisters but not sure) are extremely polite, articulate and helpful. Lastly, the common areas are lush, colorful and the covered gathering area is super cool; fireplace, fire pit, bbq,picnic table and hanging chairs (my fav). We will be back when on Vashon! What a treat Vashon Lodges are! Beautifully designed and decorated, super comfortable beds, very clean linen and pretty much the cleanest place I've ever layed my eyes on! I the open air shower option in lodge #5 that would be very enjoyable during a summer evening shower and the deep soaking tub with lovely bath salts in lodge #15. We also loved the insuite gas fireplace for a cozy evening in and the old school board games that are provided! The outdoor common areas are super cool..making for a nice way to get to know your fellow traveler and the fact that the Vashon Brewery is just steps away is incredible! We look forward to coming back in the Spring and Summer so we can enjoy more of Vashon.. We won't stay anywhere else but the lodges! Incredible customer service too! read more

And the staff was great. I had made a mistake in my reservation and booked a meeting room instead of an overnight but Kriss fixed things in a jiffy and was so nice about it! We traveled up here from Newport Beach for my cousins wedding and my sister saw this brand new hotel in Sunset Magazine, all I can say is this is an amazing little Oasis, it has a "Public House" stocked with champagne and beer which is adjacent to a nice little outdoor common area with "swing cocoons" and tables. Our room was extremely nice and most importantly clean. Value for the money = unsurpassable. Paul and Jamie were so helpful, thank you guys! 2nd stay at the Lodges and still a great experience. My wife and I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend getaway and already miss our cozy little cabin. Since the last time we stayed it looks like Roku's were added to the tvs which was a welcome addition! Also there were some goodies left for our dog this time which was really nice. My family and I love visiting here. It's a little sanctuary that's convenient and centrally located on the island. The living space is modern, clean, and cozy. It feels very private because each unit stands alone. It's also great because there are several common areas throughout the property that you can use for lounging and even a grill. Very poor lighting at night we could not find our lodge Without a flashlight. We had a bad problem with tiny ants in the kitchen. Dishes were not washed thoroughly one bowl was obviously used for a dog and it smelled bad. Didn't care for the Buddha head decor in the kitchen. Only one TV in the bedroom seems like it should have been in the living room. Only one sink. Fireplace on a short timer. Cheap uncomfortable furniture layout is very weird Bad use of space. Shower curtain was moldy. Pricing was OK a little on the high end, lodges didn't seem to fit in the vibe or character of Vashon. Overall it was a good experience but I would not go back. I had a wonderful time staying at the Lodges on Vashon for a family wedding trip. Gorgeous lush grounds with kinda pre-fab trailor-like lodge thingies with quality coded door latches. Didn't see any staff the whole time I was there. Big parking lot. The rehearsal dinner space on lodge grounds was nice with swinging wicker chiars and sheepskin seats. The interior design of the lodges hit all my postmodern art school sweet spots and made me very happy to be there. Points for style! Also points for large French press with enough coffee to keep me quite happily caffeinated for the two days I was there. Appreciated the instruction card as I didn't remember how he press worked. Good easy to use wi-fi. Nice kitchen in the lodge we didn't expect but were happy to have. Luxurious modern-looking bathroom with difficult to understand non-removable toiletries. I was extremely happy to have my own little curtained off twin bed nook as I was sharing the lodge. And what gorgeous views and decor! read more

My firm belief is that you don't know how good the service is until you are faced with a "real" problem. We definitely had one as we arrived and then had a minor one a little bit later, however, the staff was apologetic and did everything to resolve the situation without us having to ask. The accommodations were nice. Be advised it is not like your normal hotel that there is a service around at all times. We enjoyed just casually relaxing and despite there being other lodges we never heard any of our neighbors, which made us feel like we were off on our own. It was beautiful and surreal to be so cozy and protected from the rain, and it was surprisingly bright considering how cloudy it was. The only real negative is that there is only one sink and we didn't like the fact that we were brushing our teeth and washing our face in the same sink that we were rinsing vegetables, etc. However, we understood why they could not have more than one sink in a cabin, so we went with the flow. In general, I would stay there again and I would recommend the Lodges on Vashon to friends and family. read more

Do not experience Vashon here. The charge for a lodge is nearly 500 dollars. I found the listing on air bnb thinking it would be warm and quiet, it was anything but those things. The bathtub pictured in the listing was deep but upon arrival I was placed in a lodge without a bathtub and told that I didn't pay for a unit with one, so they are charging more than 500 dollars for a conex box with ikea furniture. I also requested an early check in, I arrived at the lodges at 1pm and was not sent a confirmation code at all, I had to call at 4pm in order to check in was not permitted to check in until almost 4:30pm. I did absolutely watch and see that there were zero people checking out, so I know that wasn't the issue. The property managers are just sheisty and it's probably a way for them to force people to pump money into the junk stores in town. I don't even think any hotels would make a person wait until 4pm to check in. You can absolutely find a much more comfortable stay and affordable price at the four seasons hotel or any other hotel. There are also some very nice air bnb listings, if its Vashon you're wanting to experience, but please don't ruin ypur stay by booking here. This establishment would be better suited as a battered women's shelter or homeless affordable housing units. Additionally, there is zero privacy in these lodges. You can hear people walking around and talking outside at all times as if you're sleeping in a tent. I will never stay here again and I would absolutely never recommend this place to anyone. If you're looking for a place to stay, the Lodges are just ok. They are mobile homes with modern finishes. Ours must have still been under construction because there were pieces of sheets pinned to the walls to cover large holes in the drywall and everything was still off-gassing. The finished painting left a little to be desired. Everything in our unit was very loud. The toilet flushing could wake the dead. There is very little insulation, and we heard every word of the conversations had by loud people walking by at 3am. Even the timer for the fireplace ticked away for the 30 minutes we could stand to have it going. The outdoor fireplace/courtyard area looked nice but was so brightly lit at night that it felt like a school cafeteria. We opted not to stay. The aesthetic is nice, if you like modern finishes and clean lines, which is probably how they get away with the pricing. But it's not worth it in my opinion. I'd likely find elsewhere to stay next time. read more

Cozy, private, clean and relaxing. At the lodges, you get your own personal bungalow that's comfy and clean and close to everything. You can walk to shops and restaurants, but still feel far away from it all. Each lodge (which is more like a sleek modern tiny home) has a little porch for hanging outside and the one my husband and I stayed in had an oversized soaking tub, a king bed in the bedroom, a kitchen with a few necessities, a living room with a fire place and an extra sun room with a day bed. It was so wonderful and quiet and relaxing and I can't wait to stay again! read more
