The vast majority are from the Washington, DC area and more than seven years old (one is five years old and one six years old). Over and over people say they saved money, but not a single one says how much they paid (three say how much they saved). One is very quick to point out towing would have been $90, but no mention of the cost of locksmith services. I point all this out because it's highly unusual for so many reviewers to talk about savings without sharing the cost. As a result, I kept searching for someone to make a duplicate key for our BMW. This was appreciated because it was 29° out and I had just arrived home from vacation. John assessed the options, and got me inside very quickly through a back door without a smart key. Although he did have to drill out the cylinder in the deadbolt, he was able to replace it & rekey it on the spot. I'm comparison, when I called the only locksmith open at 7:00 am when I arrived home, he showed up with a crow bar and his solution was to break the door frame then drill out the smart key and replace it with deadbolt. John was worth waiting for! Not only did he respond quickly, resolve the issue quickly, he did the entire job at a very reasonable price without damaging any doors or their frames.

I've had Apex Lock and Key come out previously when my locks started getting a little…read moretemperamental, and after probably 8 years, it thought it was time for another "once over" for my locks, since their keyways were starting to get hung-up. I called Apex Lock and Key to schedule an appointment, and the locksmith that answered the phone listened to my problem description, asked me a few questions, and then suggested that a good shot of WD-40 would fix the issue. He didn't want to come out and have to charge me for something so simple, which I appreciated. Sure enough, a couple of squirts of WD-40 and exercising the lock with the key was all that was needed!
