Stepped outside to get better cell reception, wind blew door shut. Doh! locked out. Found 'em on Yelp, called 'em at 12:43 PM, they said they could get here in 20-30 minutes and let me in for $65. Sweet on the time, wince on the price. But whatevaz, gotta get in! So I waited...and waited...and waited. And then the locksmith called at 1:23 to say he was on Kapiolani, wanted to double-check address, get directions. Then I called at 1:51 to say I needed to walk over and pick up my son from school at 2:15 -- he said he was coming but didn't want to get a speeding ticket. I lol'd -- speeding ticket? Driving in Honolulu? Is that even possible?
Then I got a call at 2:01 saying he was at University & King. It took 40 minutes to get from Kapiolani to University & King? I know Honolulu traffic is bad, but...that bad?
I had to zoom over to meet my son, locksmith called on arrival wondering where I was (did I not say I had to pick up my son?), we raced home, my son panting and panicking and crying, locksmith was chilling in my patio chair, opened door in less than 30 seconds. He was like, "no worries, family comes first." So that was cool. But arriving 90 minutes after call, when they said it would be 20-30? Not so much.
Phone lady said credit card would be OK, but locksmith wanted cash. Don't disappoint the man who lets you in your own house. read more
